Hi everyone, I hope you all are doing well. As you know, listening is the very soul of our platform. We value our listeners and are very grateful for their time and efforts. To further show our appreciation and provide a way for the community to acknowledge dedicated listeners we are launching this Listener Appreciation Initiative. Starting this month, members will be able to nominate a listener for the Tulip badge. Interested in reading how the badge came into being? Click here! Our aim is to acknowledge the work of exceptional listeners who have consistently supported a member(s) for a long period!
Who can be nominated?
Only listeners can be nominated and only members can nominate. You as a member can nominate a listener if:
✔ The listener has consistently supported you in PMs, rooms, or forums.
✔ No Newbie badge
Your listener does not meet the requirements yet? Worry not, you can come back and nominate when they do, we will be here!
How does it work?

What if someone gets nominated more than once?
The first nomination will get you the tulip badge. While the badge cant be awarded again, you will however get a tulip added next to your username for each nomination received.

The number of tulips (🌷) indicates the times you received a tulip from a member. The number resets every year!
Some things to keep in mind:
A member can nominate a listener once every 3 months at most. The same member can not nominate the same listener again before the 3 months are up. This is to encourage people to nominate a variety of listeners.
A member can nominate up to 3 listeners in a month.

This is a perfect way to motivate listeners to work on becoming even better. There are listeners that should be given ears instead of tulips. Or a sheet with two holes cut out for those who’s specialty seems to be ghosting people who are reaching out because they are already feeling so invisible. Luckily we can boast that the majority of our listeners are there to be sure not one person seeking help is left to search alone. To them we modestly offer a Tulip to say thank you for meeting us where we are and not leaving us until we are on the path to where we need to be. And to my most special listener, DanciaKS, who is always ready when I need a push in a positive direction, or a kind word in a day full of criticism. She gives me a pass when I’m too hard on myself yet can still hold me accountable when I begin to back step instead of progress. Dancia has helped me more in the last 2 months than all the help I’ve had in the last 3 years. She offers the perfect combination of her learned experience and lived experience to help me better understand myself. She knows for change within ourselves to happen we must first have insight that we need to change. Thank you Dancia for not giving up on me when every person in my life turned their backs. They crushed me. Broke me. Talked me into trusting them and to call them my friends. So persistent about never rejecting me. Never giving up on me. “We have 90 minutes every day just for you”!!! I loved them all. They were my last connection to a world I was afraid of. But when I did what several of them talked me into confiding in them, I was blocked without explanation and told I could never come back and was not ever allowed to chat with them again!!! It has caused me so much pain and damage. I lost 8 friends in seconds and they knew I had not one person left in my life. I never caught my breath until I entered the world of 7 cups. I was able to finally call someone a friend again. To trust and even laugh and make jokes again , which I haven’t been able to do in years. Thank you, listeners !! And Dancia I would give you all the tulips in the world!!!
