Group Support Program: Weekly Progress Report
Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. Weekly progress reports are a way for trainees to reflect on their progress, and share their ups and downs. It is also an opportunity for you to bond with fellow trainees and for mentors to have greater visibility.
In Group Support Program, we have been using a form-based report, in other programs we have experimented with forum progress reports and have decided to do the same for GSP.
Moving forward, GSP trainees will use this thread to report weekly progress on the program.
You can use these questions to help guide you with your answers but do note these are optional. The important part is that you need to participate in this thread at least once a week.

What progress have you made towards completing your Group Support Program?
This week I completed the 3rd and 4th discussions and working on turning on the badge request I also hosted another discussion this week since I hosted last week and for this week I hosted for listener discussion on empathy

What challenges have you faced?
At the moment I have not been facing challenges other than waiting when I finish the request if I’ll get the trainee badge.
@Hope
1. I just finished my 2 week trial and have become a room supporter as well as a discussion leader for LSC!
2. The most challenging part yet is to make sure I had enough chat hours to complete the trial.
@Endure777 we can check together! just message me <3

What challenges have you faced?
Reminding myself to make sure to get enough group chat hours and if I’ll get the badge or have to turn in another form.
I'm currently in my 2-week trial, so for the past week, which is my first, I've been able to participate in both member and Listener group discussions as well as hosting in the Sharing Circle. It was good to catch up with various group chatrooms after being away for awhile.
I was challenged by a certain requirement that I didn't know I needed to have before I could finish this course, so I'm already working towards completing this so I can focus on the rest of the course entirely with ease. I also seem to have trouble engaging in Listener chatrooms. I can't find a way to know if there are other Listener group chats happening weekly that I can also participate in. There are also chatrooms that are not very much active, which makes it harder to accumulate the hours and chats I need to progress throughout the course.
That definitely makes sense, depending on times you are connecting and activity of rooms, that may be challenging to get a lot of listener and/or member group chat. I would be happy to check with you how we optimise it so you can get more chats easily. @OakSerenity I'm also glad the other requirements go well. you got it!
@vivelespatates Thank you! I appreciate the help ad guidance 😊
This is now my second week since I've been accepted to the program, and hopefully the conclusion of my 2-week trial period.
I've actually failed to keep track of if I have made enough chats to complete my trial, but as of writing this post, I've already submitted my trial form. I've been able to spend more amount of time the past week than the week before by actively participating in both listener and member group chats.
Other than that, I've also been communicating with a mentor as well, which has been immensely helpful! So I'm excited to try and host discussions throughout the rest of this course. And I'm also happy that I finally earned my verified listener badge as per one of the requirements!
Third week checking in!
The past week I got to host my very first pop-up discussion last Tuesday which was scheduled at 2pm, and it lasted over an hour until around 3:15pm I believe due to the continuous flow of conversations between participants and getting to learn more about them!
I've also started keeping track of my group chats since last Wednesday, so as of this writing I've manage to accumulate 6 additional group chats and 4 additional Listener group chats since then. I will continue to keep logging weekly like this to see how long I've been participating.
I've also signed up to be an assigned host for the Sharing Circle and started my first session immediately on the next day which was only a few days ago. My very first session as assigned host turned out well which is good. Didn't experience much challenges or problems during the session. Will continue to observe the next future sessions and see how it goes.
August 2nd - week one check in - late due to illness
1) What progress have you made towards completing your Group Support Program?
I have hosted sessions and participated in many but I have forgotten to keep track of hours
What challenges have you faced?
Being able to properly participate in group chats due to illness
Fourth week checking in!
During the past week, I've been able to be more active in group chats between members as well as listeners, and joined in some discussions that were scheduled in advance. I've also continued to keep track of my weekly hours spent on those group chats, although I'm only tracking what is recorded on my profile. Between the previous week and the past week, I've gained 23 additional group support chats and 12 additional listener group chats.
I've also been fully committed to my hosting sessions in the Sharing Circle which is 3x per week for 1 hour session each day. I think I was a bit challenged by knowing when to start sessions properly on my own. I had one day where I started a bit late due to another member inquiring for another chatroom that they can no longer access to, despite already being available for everyone, then the moderator had to step in and look into it, which turned out to be some sort of bug. I decided to give them time to sort the problem out but since it's taking place in SC, I want to be able to proceed with the session smoothly so that other members can participate.
Fifth week checking in!
Compared to the last week in participating in various group chats and discussions, I've gained 18 additional group support chats and 10 additional listener group chats. I've been able to attend some listener group discussions last week as well as meeting up with other listeners in LSR.
Other than that, my experiences with last week's SC sessions as an assigned host was overall okay, but not at the very best compared to the previous week. I was still challenged with knowing how to start my hosting session, as there was a situation where I was overlapped with another previous hourly session. This resulted my session starting a bit late. One of my sessions last week was also almost disrupted but I managed to persist in continuing to host as scheduled along with help from a mod during that hour since I wanted to focus on SC as I was assigned to.
Anyway, I'm also currently finishing up my project. Hopefully I can get it done this week.
Sixth week checking in!
The past week was overall good. I managed to continue hosting my SC sessions as usual without any difficult challenges that would affect both the timing of my session as well as the group members that participated. I also did my best with the small project already and submitted it last week.
As for the track record of my group chats, I've gained an additional 19 group support chats and 7 listener group chats during the last week. I've only found time to attend listener discussions and hosting in SC for members so far. I even received positive feedback on my hosting during one of the sessions, which to me felt really great.
