GLDD: Introduce yourself here!
Welcome to Group Leadership Dynamics & Development Program!
I am excited and glad to have you with us. We are here with you to provide all support and guidance during your learning journey. This has been something we believe helps you get a better understanding of group dynamics. Please find the course description below.
It focuses on the communication and leadership behavior of individuals within group structures. The theoretical and practical knowledge are used to explore the stages of group development, decision-making techniques, group dynamics, group problem and solving, group leadership skills, cultural sensitivity, norms, and interpersonal dynamics within groups.
Please also introduce yourself and let us (if you are comfortable) where you are from and your personality type.
If you do not know your personality type, you can take a quiz here to know it! Share the one strength that you think will help you out in becoming an effective group specialist.
Please remember, you are unique and have personal strengths and gifts that set you apart from others but you can utilize them to gather all and support them in a unique way that others might not even imagine of. You have that strength and personal gift. All you need to identify, acknowledge, amplify, and deliberately use them every day to strengthen yourself to provide support and strength to others.
It will not only allow you to successfully complete this program but also help you to progress and grow on your personal and professional fronts too. You are taking a significant step towards learning and creating a difference.
Best wishes for your learning journey!!
Please note: In order to successfully complete the program, you must respond to this post. Your comment/response should answer the questions/show that you completed the given activity (if any). Start your learning journey with Discussion 01: Introduction to Group Support, then check here!
@ASilentObserver
hello!!
So I took the test and I am an
EntertainerPersonality
ESFP-A / ESFP-T
with strengths such as
Observant – With all this focus on the here and now, on doing and acting, it makes sense that Entertainers are naturals when it comes to noticing real, tangible things and changes.
Excellent People Skills – More so than things though, Entertainers love to pay attention to people. They are talkative, witty, and almost never run out of things to discuss. For people with this personality type, happiness and satisfaction stem from the time they spend with the people they enjoy being with.
Weaknesses such as:
Sensitive – Entertainers (especially Turbulent ones) are strongly emotional, and very vulnerable to criticism – they can feel like they’ve been backed into a corner, sometimes reacting badly. This is probably Entertainers’ greatest weakness, because it makes it so hard to address any other weaknesses brought to light.
Conflict-Averse – Entertainers sometimes ignore and avoid conflict entirely. They tend to say and do what’s needed to get out of such situations, then move on to something more fun.

Thank you for this well written post Obs! It's amazing to see how personalities play a huge role in determining people's strengths and weaknesses and learning how to better reach out to them and get everyone involved. I hope I can learn a lot from this programme and be able to put it into practise ✿
My name is Daphnie and my personality type is INFJ-T
I - Introverted
N - Intuitive
F - Feeling
J - Judging
I'm always looking for meaning and purpose in the things that I do. I believe there's this satisfaction that comes from being able to take responsibility to bring people together in groups to learn from each other and grow. I'm really analytical and pre-plan most things because I tend to be future-oriented. Spontaneity...takes quite the effort but I understand that it is needed when the situation calls for it. I LOVE listening to people and understanding them, because every single person has a plethora of stories behind their eyes; ones that they wish to tell and ones they wish to keep to themselves. Overall I find people really interesting ❤
Hi I am Paradise and my personality type is INFJ-T
I - Introverted

Because I fall under this personality, I can easily connect with other group participants.
Hi @ASilentObserver. I'm richuyulin, but please call me Lin. I'm from Canada.
My personality type is ISFJ-T. (I found this surprising as I got a different result when I did the same quiz a few years back.)
I think my strength would be being able to remain calm in the midst of chaos and help sort things along moderators. Or alone if none were available at the time.
@richuyulin
I had different results in the past too
Hi @kindLemonade, so glad I'm not the only one who got a different result from the past. Guess we change with time.
@ASilentObserver
Hello, I go by Writer here! I'm from the United States. I've taken this personality test before, and I feel like my results change every time I take it. If only I could remember my personality type, hehe.
My personality type is the Mediator or INFP-T.
Mind: Introverted
Energy: Intuitive
Nature: Feeling
Tactics: Prospecting
Identity: Turbulent
One strength that I think will help me become an effective group specialist is open-mindedness. It allows me to acknowledge that everyone is different and no one structure/solution/method works for everyone. We're all different, and that's okay. Our differences make groups special.
Hi All! I'm Sinead and I'm a Mediator (INFP-T). I believe that my strongest strength as a mediator is my intuition, which I hope will aid me to respond quickly and sensitively in group chats. As an introvert, I also appreciate the message-based support system 7Cups facilitates!! 😆
