Group Leadership Dynamics & Development- Important Change & Update!

As you know we introduced [https://www.7cups.com/forum/GroupSupport_168/CommunityManagersOffice_2008/7CupsAcademyTheGroupLeadershipandDynamicsDevelopment_233187/]a Group Leadership Dynamics & Development Program and the first batch started on 01/04/2021. We received inputs from the trainees and the community that applying for roles as part of the program can be overwhelming to the trainees. Applying for Group Support Roles was part of the training program. But considering all inputs, we decided to drop it from the program. That means the trainees do not need to worry about meeting the criteria to apply for the group support roles. They can completely focus on the learning and experiencing parts of the program. Though here a few things to consider: * All group leader trainees at least need to be Verified Listeners by the end of the program. * If a group leader trainee is eligible for any role like room supporter, chat room moderator, peer supporter, chatroom mentor, etc. then we highly encourage them to apply for them and learn and experience group dynamics under a specific role. However, we will no longer require it. * At the end of the program, a trainee would be eligible for applying for higher leadership roles as per role requirements. This change will be applicable to the first batch as well as all future batches. A new addition to the program requirements, all trainees would be required to submit a short project on group dynamics. Under this short project, one has to * Identify a challenge in the group chat rooms. * How is it impacting the group? * What are the potential solutions to address the concern? (Include all technical and non-technical solutions) To create this short project, a trainee could use Problem Solving Template * Problem (try to write it as simple and clear as possible): * Example: Chat room is not inclusive. * Solution (the opposite of the problem): * All members in the chat room feel inclusive. * Group Members will: * Greet and acknowledge all entering the room and encourage them to share their thoughts. * Group Leaders will: * Run daily check-in at X times in X room. * 1-10 rating of the problem (1 is really not good and 10 is great): * Current rating: X * After the implementation of the solution, the rating will be: Y * Due date check-in (rate problem again on 1-10 scale): Z This is added to substitute the “Apply for Group Support Roles” part of the program. The short project will be required to submit in the second last week of the program, With the implementation of the above change, we are also making changes in the program duration. Now, it will offer only two durations: 6 and 8 Weeks. We made this change to ensure all trainees get good exposure and learning experiences during the program. All the changes will be applicable to the immediate effect. We hope all these changes help our trainees get all time to learn the group dynamics and development. Best wishes!! As you all might have already heard from Heather about the 7 Cups Academy [https://www.7cups.com/forum/SiteUpdates_100/HsHaven_1970/StriveTowardsLeadershipProfessionalExcellencethe7CupsAcademy_232978/1/], we have been hard at work creating its framework, which includes the creation of 3 new tracks (in addition to the Internship and LDP), and we’re excited to present our first course under the 7 Cups Academy. *Drum rolls* The Group Leadership and Dynamics Development (GLDD) Program Goal: Help & Support our members thrive across the community. Course Description It focuses on the communication and leadership behavior of individuals within group structures. The theoretical and practical knowledge are used to explore the stages of group development, decision-making techniques, group dynamics, group problem and solving, group leadership skills, cultural sensitivity, norms, and interpersonal dynamics within groups. The Program further divided into two categories: For Member Chatroom Track (Available to Members and Listeners) For Listener Chatroom Track (Listener only) It is divided into specific tracks to provide track-based training to gain specialization in the focused category. Course Learning Goals To deliver key practical information and help to develop skills to operate effectively in a group setup. The course allows you to understand the benefits of support groups, challenges, and problem-solving by applying the knowledge you learn during the training. It focuses on understanding the diversity of the group and what it takes to align all to achieve group goals. It will allow you to understand the behavior of individuals in the group, the role of group facilitators, and what skills would be required to become a group specialist. Course Outcomes Gain focused specialization Gain the skills and knowledge and focused support & guidance Application of knowledge & experiences (gained through this program) in the real world events & situations At the successful completion of the track, one will be eligible to become a mentor in the focused track. Earn the Program Completion Certificate and be the proud alumnus of 7Cups Academy! ...See more Hi everyone! I wanted to share some news with you all. After serving as a GSP mentor for over a year, I have made the decision to step down from my current role. It has been an incredible journey filled with growth, learning, and most importantly, connecting with all of you amazing individuals. While I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a GSP mentor, I believe it's essential to recognize when we reach a point of stagnation. Although I genuinely enjoyed and excelled in my role, I felt the need to explore new avenues for personal and professional development. But fret not! This is not a goodbye to mentoring altogether. I will continue serving as a Chatroom Mentor and also take on the role of Content Development and Marketing Program Mentor. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and the chance to contribute in different capacities. To those who are still actively participating in the program, I wish you the best of luck! Remember, you are part of an incredible community of talented individuals who are ready to support and guide you. I am very glad to announce that fruitful collaboration between the GLDD and Listener Chatrooms Leaders have brought its fruits in creating Hosting Opportunities. Therefore, we updating the process of Hosting Listener Discussion Sessions for GLDD Listener trainees. What are the Hosting Opportunities? Hosting opportunities is a project which enables GLDD trainees to host Listener Sharing Circle (LSC) or Listener Check-in (LCI) without joining the team or signing up for hosting. Trainees are no longer required to commit to one of the teams or a weekly time slot. Instead, you can choose each week what and when you would like to host. Furthermore, each trainee will be supported by an experienced leader of the respected team. The aims of the project are to speed up the process and enable trainees to host from the very first week of the GLDD program. Furthermore, provide trainees with the opportunity to learn group support skills from an experienced chatroom leader. How does it work? 1) To host LSC or LCI fill this form [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScw_Tl23Tjwc3zO0awx65oBKgeWGeRBVW-8KD_Jpc4oMq_C6w/viewform] each week. 2) After you have finished hosting sessions for the whole week, submit this form [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1bi9xPzV0HGcxsURRM5VWB_ac5VcwfXkWhzGZV7HuYxA/viewform?edit_requested=true#responses] to log your sessions. Who should use this form? All GLDD Listeners trainees (on both members and listeners tracks), including active members of LSC and LCI teams.
