5 ways to improve your morning if you're depressed
🌞 Good morning, 7 cups of tea community! 😊
Today, I wanted to discuss a topic that many of us may have experienced at some point in our lives - depression. It's important to acknowledge that depression is a real and serious illness that affects millions of people worldwide. However, there are ways we can actively work towards improving our morning routines, which can significantly contribute to our overall wellbeing. 🌈✨
Now, let's dive into five ways to help boost your mornings and combat depression:
1️⃣ Practice gratitude: Start your day by focusing on the positive aspects of your life. Take a few moments to appreciate the things you are grateful for, no matter how small they may seem. This simple practice can shift your mindset and set the tone for a more uplifting day ahead.
2️⃣ Engage in physical activity: Incorporating exercise into your morning routine has numerous benefits for both your physical and mental health. Whether it's a brisk walk, yoga, or a quick workout session, elevating your heart rate in the morning can help release endorphins, reduce stress, and improve your mood.
3️⃣ Set achievable goals: Establishing realistic goals for the day gives you a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Break down your tasks into manageable steps, and don't forget to celebrate your achievements along the way. This practice not only helps boost your motivation but also enhances your self-esteem.
4️⃣ Connect with loved ones: Make it a habit to reach out to someone you care about each morning. Whether it's a simple text, phone call, or sharing breakfast with a family member or friend, nurturing meaningful connections can provide a sense of support, belonging, and happiness.
5️⃣ Prioritize self-care: Devote some time each morning to take care of yourself. This can include activities such as meditation, journaling, reading, or enjoying a cup of tea or coffee in peace. Engaging in self-care rituals helps cultivate a positive mindset, reduce stress levels, and set a foundation for a more productive day.
Remember, it's essential to seek professional help if you're struggling with depression or any mental health-related concerns. You are not alone, and there is support available to you. 💪💙

Wish I found it this easy❤️. Nothing positive to reflect on right now but I keep trying to get my mindset to change.
Thanks for this post
I've been there, and I'm so sorry you are feeling like you have nothing positive to reflect on. If you look really hard, I promise you that you have positives. An animal, music, a good smelling candle, the beauty of nature (walks are great), and so many other things. You always have this amazing community as well. Safe, positive hugs your way. 🤗💜🤗
I applaud everyone who has just TRIED. I struggle everyday just to exist. I try to do these type of things. And i try to tell myself that even that is a win!
i see you. I hear you. I am you. Peace and blessings

These are great suggestions, Eles!
Depression is paradoxical in that it robs you of the will and the energy to do the things that will help you deal with it.
So even simple and clearly positive activities might be challenging for someone with depression.
But once you "start the engine" doing at least a little bit of those, a positive feedback loop develops that improves your mood.
Such a clear and to-the-point guide like yours, which identifies a few things we should focus on in the morning (a critical time of the day for those struggling with Depression) to improve our mood, is of great help.
Thank you for such a valuable contribution!
I love this post, and thank you for sharing. 🤗💜
