How to deal with...

Birchtreebird11 July 13th

I was hoping to find some advice on how to deal with serious negative feelings, not sure what specific forum to go to...

I deal with feelings of being unloved and unwanted sometimes and I don't know how to cope with this... does anyone know how to lessen these feelings to a bearable amount?

Also be sure to tell me if there is a better place on the forum for discussing big negative feelings.

I do to, then I joined cups and made so many friends here, I finally felt loved and accepted🙂 so I think cups is the perfect place for you, have you tried the chat rooms??? @Tinywhisper11 7cups is not that good, I've been chatting here for ages with no real connections. It's a bandaid solution.

@Birchtreebird11 I guess for lots of people it is just a bandaid 🙁 I think it depends on each people and their situations, for me 7 cups has been amazing, a life line. But I supose it's a different journey for each of us. Is there anything I can do to help??

Reaching out and expressing yourself is welcome regardless of what category you used.

it is hard to go through those feelings and i found for me the way i have dealt with it was being my own best friend ... my own motivation.   I used to think it sounded corny but when you know yourself/ love yourself and see your worth ... no one else has power to take that away.

If you feel unwanted or unloved by rejection from someone else that is a them problem ... they are missing out of who you are and what you have to offer...

I have been there and i did not for a long time  ..... but i found a way .... first forgive yourself for anything you do/ did not like about yourself..... like who you can be  in the future we all are a work in progress...

@toughTiger6481 it's my very nature that is wrong,it's not something that can be forgiven.

@Birchtreebird11 Feelings are valid <3 and it is very difficult to deal with the negative ones, I'm sorry that you have to deal with such hard emotions. If it's possible then it's good to distance yourself from people who are causing you to feel that way. Sometimes we don't get back the love we give and that's very hurtful, it's better to find people who actually deserve you. Communication can also help clear some of the negative feelings as sometimes the other person is not aware of the kind of hurt they are causing us. The most important thing is ofcourse to know that your worth is never based on the words or actions of other people. You are deserving of love :) <3

I also struggle with this

I think finding something which excites you is key and open your mind to possibilities

Ultimately, your feelings are there because you are holding onto them on a certain level. I find that by changing myself and the way I see everything I can find ways to re interpret and lessen those feelings. Eventually I hope I will have good feelings, rather than bad ones. It is a work in progress

I don't know if this will help at all but its also a difficult problem for me too so Im just saying what my own current approach to it is

I'm really sorry to hear you're going through this. It's important to acknowledge these feelings and seek support when needed. Here are a few steps that might help you cope:

1. Recognize and Validate Your Feelings

  • Understand that it's okay to feel this way sometimes. Acknowledging your emotions is the first step toward addressing them.

2. Reach Out to Someone You Trust

  • Whether it's a friend, family member, or even a counselor, talking to someone who cares about you can help alleviate some of the emotional burden.

3. Practice Self-Compassion

  • Try to be kind to yourself. Remind yourself that these feelings don't define your worth, and it's okay to give yourself space to heal.

4. Engage in Activities That Bring You Joy

  • Sometimes, distracting yourself with activities that you enjoy or find fulfilling can help shift your focus away from negative feelings.

5. Seek Professional Support

  • If these feelings persist, it might be helpful to talk to a therapist or counselor. They can provide tools and strategies tailored to your situation.

6. Practice Vipassana Meditation

  • Vipassana is a form of meditation that focuses on self-observation and mindfulness. It can help you gain a deeper understanding of your emotions and develop a more balanced perspective. Regular practice may lead to greater emotional resilience and inner peace.
