Why do we…

LisaLette October 5th

Sometimes pick routes that we know are dead ends?

@LisaLette

Oh that is quite thought-provoking. :0

Perhaps because the "routes" are familiar. And familiarity, no matter how uncomfortable or difficult of an experience, somehow still seems to make us "belong", a longing most of us hoomans have, to belong!

What do you think? ^_^

I would add "easy" to the familiar.....to me an "easy" route means less stressful and more peace in my life....

@LisaLette

Isn’t it funny how we sometimes wander down paths we know are dead ends?

It’s like a little adventure with curiosity nudging us to see what’s around the corner!

There's something about the route that we like. A lot. And perhaps in the back of our mind, we hope to find a hidden passage to atlantis

@LisaLette I used to think of life as a road, now I think it's closer to a labirynth. There are not many ways which lead to the target. There are some 'short dead ends' - the paths we should not take at all. And there are some 'long dead ends' - the paths we may follow, but only for a limited time (a few years or months).

Experience is what we gain on the way. Because the road straight to the target would teach us nothing.

Also, not always we learn from our mistakes. It sometimes takes some repeats of them to gain energy to break from the magic circle.

@LisaLette I pick routes that go by cool old abandoned builds or ice cream shops

Also because at the time, we couldn’t see that as a dead end. Hindsight being 20/20. And also, our fear of failure and sometimes even fear of success causes us to take the path our self esteem, at the time, tells us is all we can handle.

@LisaLette because nothing else to do in life...

What if you don’t know for sure that the route is a deep end? After all, looks can be deceiving. Sometimes you love the route enough to want to explore it’s potential

Maybe to know what's after it or we simply love the route even though we know it will end we still want to travel
