What's your disability?

Evois June 7th, 2016

I have a learning disability.

What is the most difficult part of your disability?
For me its being slow when my brain sometimes either moves toooo fast or not fast enough and I have to take longer on stuff.

I have pretty severe scoliosis. I have two curves - shaped like an 's'. During middle school I have to wear a plastic back brace for about 4 years for 20 hours a day. It honestly sucked. I am very thankful that I only experienced minimal pain. However my back looks kinda funny and my hips are slightly uneven. I thankfully don't have to wear a brace anymore cuz I stopped growing. Now I just have to wait for my doctors to decide if my spine is getting worse and if I need back surgery - which I am super scared about.

@Evois Snapping hip syndrome, snapping knee syndrome, snapping scapular syndrome, snapping tendon syndrome and snapping elbow syndrome. My tendons and muscles get hooked on my bones and when they eventually slip free they make a loud snapping sound. It's excruciating and the pain is chronic. There is no cure for what I have and on some days I am rendered unable to move multiple limbs because the muscle or tendon has gotten so badly stuck on a bone.

I'm also gifted. Please don't be fooled by the name for it is more of a curse. If you want to know more I wrote a thread about it: https://www.7cups.com/forum/TeensOnlyClub_123/ShareYourStory_1552/Giftedness_159546/

Branching off of my giftedness is my SPD. Also known as Sensory Processing Disorder. I am sensitive to all things sensory. I can't stand a lot of sounds, often there is too much input and I burst. I hate a lot of clothing materials, I cut the tags off of everything. I also cannot walk in a straight line or balance on one leg. I cannot catch a ball or participate in any sports.

My sister is suffering from a pelvic pain for a few months. She consulted a doctor for the same and is on a medication. But, medicines have not treated her pain completely and she is back in her painful condition. One of our relatives proposed physical therapy to treat the pain accurately. I am searching for a physical therapy center and came to know about

http://www.optimalresultspt.com/

https://www.therapeuticassociates.com/

Kindly, suggest me a good physical therapy clinic.

@maxbrown4982304 Has she tried asking her doctor about physical therapy? They are often familiar with options nearby and if not they can usually get that information fairly quickly.

@sensitiveMango3479 I have chemical sensitivities too!! I absolutely hate it when people wear perfume because what smells good to them gives me migraines and even asthma issues if it's strong enough. A skunk spray nearly made me pass out from asphyxiation once.

I also have learning disabilities myself too
