What's your disability?
I have a learning disability.
What is the most difficult part of your disability?
For me its being slow when my brain sometimes either moves toooo fast or not fast enough and I have to take longer on stuff.
I've got a rare neurological condition called mal de debarquemant syndrome. The main symptom is feeling like I'm rocking and swaying on a boat 24/7. It also causes me to have balance issues (I walk with a cane), brain fog (concentration and memory problems), and some issues with fatigue and low energy. You can learn more about it here https://mddsfoundation.org/about/
@VinylFly You are in good company here, many of us have nuerological issues. So glad to see you here, welcome to the Disability Forum.
@1Marg1 Thanks for the welcome Marg. Looking forward to getting to know you all :)
@VinylFly For completely different reasons (different disease!) I have some very similar symptoms. I was so dang against getting a cane (I got very symptomatic in my late 20s) as a 26/girl, but it got so bad, especially on the beach or uneven terrain, just forgetabouttit. So my Dad made me a pimp Gandalf-looking walking stick. Why thats any better than a cane, Im not sure, lol but it made my transition easy. Hugs and love.
Hi hope you enjoy your days. I hope pray for me get warm.Xx
@tidyPlane5084 I hope you get warm! It is cold here too! :)
I have ASD, Sensory disorder, Anxiety, and Depression.
@OurLoveIsGone It can be challenging to deal with a sensory disorder and anxiety and depression, you are not alone. I am so glad that you are here and a warm welcome to you. <3
My posts here vanished and I don't understand how to PM anyone for help. Could someone please help me with this? Why have my posts to this thread vanished?
I have PTSD and I broke my back when I was a kid, the bone healed wrong and it's pinching a nerve so I'm in really bad pain 24/7.
Well, mostly my disabilities are PTSD, anxiety, depression, Degenerative Joint Disease, osteoarthritis and Scoliosis.

You are a very strong person. It isn't easy living with both mental and physical disabilities, but you are and that shows how much inner strength you have. Hang in there. I know what it's like. You aren't alone.
I am here to hopefully gain some information and a better understanding for my sons disability and maybe learn some ways that i can learn to be able to help him better. He is 14 years old and he has taken speech therapy through his school for several years. He has struggled with being able to make and maintain friendships with kids his age. He has been diagnosed with depression. It makes breaks my heart because he doesn't have any friends and i know he is so lonely. Ive been reading on autism and he has so many of the signs they list. I've mentioned it to his dr. But he says he doesn't see a concern for that, and that was after only spending a few minutes with him. It was very frustrating.
@LoneWriter0854 I hope this place helps you relate to him better!
Visceral Hypersensitivity/Functional Motlity Disorder, Dizziness, Nausea and Headaches
Crohn's and fistulas and a few others.
I am deaf (although I do not consider deafness something negative) and have a chronic illness that causes balance problems. I suppose I could consider mental health conditions a sort of disability too.
