"When 'I' is replaced by 'We'... even illness becomes wellness"

How to talk to someone with a mental health disorder? [Source- ]

It could be worse, there's plenty of people worse off than you

I'm sorry - you're not alone, and I am here for you

Have you tried taking this supplement or Herb?

Is there anything I can do to help?

Just snap out of it

You might not believe it now, but the way your feeling will change

We all go through times like these

I may not exactly understand how you feel, but I care about you and want to try to understand how you are feeling

You just need to get out and distract yourself

I would love to spend time with you. Can we grab some coffee?

@StarhawkeMystery Awesome point!! "I told you so..." looks discourage and may hurt another person's feelings, especially after the person is already well aware of being at fault for a mistake. We can encourage them, be there for them, as everyone makes mistakes.

Awesome post. The littlest changes in our words can change the way we think - and more specifically, how we feel about ourselves!

Believe someone at their word when they tell you how they feel instead of telling them how they "should" feel. Intent to cause flattery does not mean someone owes you thanks or that they will feel the way you expect them to. People cannot be incorrect about their OWN feelings inside. Anger is anger. I may not be healthy or wise or of any benefit to them but it's still their feeling. Blaming someone for how they felt about what you said is about as bad as telling a fish to breath air just because you do. It is possible to change one's own perception to feel less hurt but don't confuse this for bending over backwards for someone that's manipulative and doesn't care what your real feelings are.

@Amphios

when my family says in a daily basics EVERY one of the lines that you shouldn't say...

It's what happens when mental illness is a stigma and people still are stubborn to avoid talking about it.

Is important to spread awareness, compassion and education about it. That way we won't hurt more people :(

@Amphios

More people need to see this! There is a therapist who educates through YouTube and she always uses "we" instead of "you" and I've always thought it was so great! It makes things easier when we don't feel alienated and put on the spot.

Thank you as it means so much more knowing some of these simple ways of wording things to show support can mean so much. I have had depression and what works for one may or may not work for next person. So this was very helpful!,
