It is The Season when you’ve got little motivation
The Season of sleeping in till twelve
The Season of eating little
The Season of lies
Lies like “yeah i did my schoolwork!”
Lies like “im not hungry”
Lies like “im feeling fine!”
Feels like The Season for a bad thing to happen
Feels like The Season of inbetween scenes
Feels like The Season with nothing new
No new Seasons of energy
No new Seasons of friends
No new seasons of life
The Season comes and goes.
You never know when
But it feels empty once its here regardless

“It is the season when…”
Why when? What is when? Now? Tomorrow? Could it be “It is the season for?” Maybe we could be doing a “It is the season of…”
Then we get to “Season” does it need to be a Season versus Month. “April is the Month for…” it also could be a day of the week which we have “Manic Monday” which is brought to us by the Bangles in the 1986. Giving Tuesdays, which happens on Tuesday after Thanksgiving for the “Global generosity movement unleashing the power of the people and organizations to transform their communities and the World.” Per Wikipedia(1). Wednesday, commonly referred to as HumpDay, which Geico, in the US, has altered its entertaining value. But we could replace it with Wacky Wednesday, which could be brought to you by Dr. Seuss’s book or Langley Speedway in Hampton, Virginia. Midweek street car racing event. Any street-legal car with current inspection is eligible. How fun for those that have the need for speed. Thursday, Thirsty Thursday but we are probably better people having a Thriven Thursday. “Thriven Thursday, Priorities in Mental and Physical Health” a *** site that for whatever reason, is not available. Might be a private thing. Friday, FriYAY, need I say anymore? Saturday and Sunday are your days to be what you need.
And I totally went down a rabbit hole without a compass to know which way is north. Is this when I say “It is the season to get back on task?” It is probably better to leave on that note before I get more lost.

It is the season when they made a ton of filler episodes,
Today is proof,
And will be another cliffhanger falling down to more proof.
I know y'all seen it there on the TV,
Sittin' on a loveseat that don't love you back,
But I know that outside it's back to the hot season,
Hot season for nine months, temperate season for three months.
It used to be four seasons, all beautiful in their own way.
Just like the seasons,
Every entity is losing its identity,
And every person who tries to live their identity,
Is not looked well upon by the entities that be.
And they won't stop being.
And people won't stop looking.
And nobody ever stops talking.
Commercial break:
My kids eat it everyday!
And you'll be eating my fist if you diss it again!
Can O' Hearty - "Eat it with meals!"
Break down the commercials,
Before the commercial breaks break you.
As a kid, I used to think that the "leading brand",
Was a company that sucked at making everything.
Maybe I wasn't too far off.
Comparisons are one-sided,
And monopoly is a one player game when everyone is exhausted, bored, and broke.
I guess I'm the other side of it,
Dramatizing, televising, and giving my one-sided story,
I try to listen, it's just usually that nothing else is on.
It's all... Off... Doesn't it feel off to you?
Gritty realism is comic absurdity,
And I can't take much seriously anymore,
Except for the fact that I wish the seasons would come back,
I miss cycles that aren't about dysfunction or abuse.
Hi @Torean ☺️ This was a very creative use of the prompt this week that I enjoyed reading. When I got to the part where you said "Break down the commercials, before the commercial breaks break you." I felt able to. The breakdown of the commercial break felt like a look at how things can be forced on us and you'll be threatened if you have an opinion against it. Which connects back to your line where you said "Every entity is losing its identity, And every person who tries to live their identity is not looked well upon by the entities that be." I felt able to understand how restricting and "off" realism feels when every person has their own unique identity, just like the seasons 💙

Thank you ^_^ I think you analyzed my poem better than I did. That one was straight up freestyling and I didn't really edit.
But, coming back to it, you're totally right, and if this had any direction, I feel like it is mostly about individuality being threatened. I guess also a theme of trying to keep a sense of humor in the face of climate change, overall rising tensions, and people getting more alienated by institutions they never should have trusted.
It is the season when I have the biggest conflict of feelings. This is the time of year I was s.a several times. It was in 1969, when I turned eight years old. It lasted throughout the spring. It is also the time of year when we planted our crops and our garden. I grew up on a farm. The work itself wasn't that bad, but my dad was a horrible person to work for. He called me lazy and worthless every day aand made me hate farmwork, and all work. Work just seemed to come with yelling. The verbal abuse took its toll. I liked the warmer weather, but it was hard to enjoy it because of the farmwork, yard work, garden work, with dad yelling at me on a daily basis because I didn't get enough done, I didn't do it correctly, etc.
Now it's many years later but it's still hard to enjoy the warm weather.

Greetings @WharfRat , thank you for participating in another prompt of the week 💙 I respect the courage it took to channel into this type of memory when it comes to seasons, in the U.S. this is the time when typical spring conditions are at its peak going into the even warmer days of May. Although this season is connected to such triggering memories for you, I hope that as time has passed you'll feel comfortable enjoying the temperatures and breezes as nicely as you deserve to.
@SirenOfSerenity
Spring is the season of universal change. Its warm breeze ushers in new life and whispers of hope. All of nature recognises the ever continuing turn of the wheel and responds accordingly, instinctively and without question.
Once skeletal trees bloom back into life. The silent birds of winter begin their dawn chorus once again. The geese become restless and long to fly once more. Nature does not question, why ? how ? We have much to learn from Her and the truths that she has told since the very beginning of time.
No matter how dark the winter, the light will always return.
Listen to the internal beat of our drum. We are part of nature , yet have closed ourselves off and forgotten. Sit quietly, observe , breathe and know that we are part of something so wonderful and so much bigger than ourselves.
But, above all......trust, believe and know that change is ALWAYS possible.
"It is the season when..."
...the weather's getting warmer and the jackets come off in most of this part of the world but I'm still wearing my hat and mittens, head down against the freezing rain, still scraping the ice off my car windows,
...somewhere, people are planting flowers but the ground here is still frozen, and people break up piles of crusty dried snow whenever the sun peeps out and the temperature rises above zero in hopes that it might melt away
...when icebergs drift along the coast and gale force winds blow onshore, shrouding the place in a dull wet cloak of rain, drizzle and fog
It is the season called "Spring" in this part of the world but here, it is a season that we skip, moving suddenly from winter into summer all in a glorious rush
@SirenOfSerenity
It is the season, that once used to mean holidays.
It meant spending time with friends and cousins.
It meant joy and new experiences.
Somehow, somewhere, somewhen, it turned into a season of silent sighs.
Of doing the bare minimum, of survival, of annoyances, of distances.
Accidentally posted this in another POTW so I've copy/pasted it here so um my bad
It's a season of sadness
Or maybe not that
Not feeling sad
not happy or mad
Not really feeling at all I guess
Except in those moments when one catches their breath
Wet-blanket feeling
Like everything's damp and dim
Feeling uncomfortable and needing to stim
Not sure how to move
But that's alright
Trying though it's still hard to just sleep at night
A season of dull
Restless in my mind
But in the next season
It's rest that I'll find
