Work Prompt #7: What affirmations or mantras can you use to stay positive and motivated?
Welcome back all, I hope you are all taking it easy on yourself at work this week.
Last week we discussed: What matters most to you in your current situation? Thank you to all who participated and shared their thoughts for discussion. I enjoyed them. I hope you all did too. If you didn't share yours, please share them here and I look forward to reading and discussing them with you.
This week's prompt: What affirmations or mantras can you use to stay positive and motivated?
I wanted to start a discussion on affirmations or mantras you follow to stay focused and uplifted. A lot goes in there regardless of what others see on the surface and these affirmations can be helpful at times. So, I look forward to hearing and discussing with you all!
@ASilentObserver
NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER WHAT?!
@JollyRacher hah. Never give up. Love it
@ASilentObserver
Sorry. I wanted to say that I try to keep in mind that this particular job is only temporary. It's difficult to do with the constant stress though.
@Enthenia You are dedicated to maintaining perspective despite the challenges. It sounds like keeping this job separate from your sense of self is easier said than done with the constant stress. What aspects of the situation make it difficult to do in practice?
@ASilentObserver I think the fact that no matter how hard I try, I will never get ahead but if I slack off, it will make things five times worse. That's why taking breaks is so difficult.
I have to deal with technical restraints, data restraints, pulling other data to compensate when another department doesn't put 5he report where it should be, lazy co-workers, unsympathetic supervisors who expect the work to be completed on time no matter what (but they can spend at least half an hour chatting about things not relevant to work).
Actually I need to get back to the grind. I have reports due in four days and one of them will take at least a day to gather all the data to see if I need to file an investigative report on the customers or not.
@ASilentObserver the affirmations and positive words that help me the most. Are well two quotes. The first one 'let it be' so simple but so meaningful😁 the second is 'but darling, there is no light at the end of the tunnel, you must realise YOU are the light ' I don't know why but this really sticks with me, really helps me ❤
"A milimiter at a time."
We can accomplish small tasks that add up to a larger goal but looking at the whole mountain can be overwhelming. So focus on small taks and let the big goals be accomplished on their own with patience and time.
@Suen00 Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It sounds like focusing on small, manageable tasks helps stay motivated. Your insight about accomplishing larger goals through patience and small steps over time is wise. What kinds of affirmations or small tasks help you feel a sense of progress in achieving your goals?
@ASilentObserver
"Trust the process", "I gave it my best shot", "There's always tomorrow" & "As long as I am happy"
@ASilentObserver
I almost practically keep one entire journal just for my mantras and affirmations, and I am so happy to share some of them...🤗
What affirmations or mantras can you use to stay positive and motivated?
✨I trust myself.
I trust myself because I prove to myself that I will take care of me and make best decisions for me. I trust that I will not betray myself. I will always choose myself if I am forced to make a choice. I can trust myself more every day because I value the trust building process within myself and with others. I trust myself because I protect myself and I gracefully push myself.
✨Loss can enable you.
Loss can give you access to once secret knowledge. Loss can help us transform or change into something better. New life exists gracefully as we accept the truths of both dark and light.
✨I allow the necessary rest needed for my projection forward into my beautiful life.
It is entirely possible to move steadily towards my goals without abandoning my shell of need for rest. It is okay to shield my sensitive nature from the harsh elements of public scrutiny or social interaction. Don't let yourself be pressured to participate in ways that are at odds with your nature of need for rest.
✨Make time to connect to nature and to others. Make room for joy and joy will come to you.
We can embrace our inner child without shirking adult responsibilities. It is good and healthy to seek joy and indulgence and pleasurable activities as long as we balance them with diligence, conscientiousness, and discernment. Do tend to friendships and connections and invest time into the people closest to you whom bring you joy.
✨Wisdom cannot be forced or created though hard work. Wisdom is a gift that must be embraced with an open mind and an open heart.
@TheSunIsUpTheSkyIsBlue Thank you for sharing those meaningful affirmations and mantras. It seems they give you strength and motivation during challenging times. Which one resonates with you most deeply?
@ASilentObserver
Thank you Observer, they really do. Currently one mantra really resonating with me isn't even mentioned, but it's this:
✨ I am in magical co-creation with the divine.
It reflect my faith in the universe to work positively in my life. I also like it because it gives me some sovereignty over myself even though sometimes I feel at odds with too-powerful forces. I also like how it reflects my belief in magic, I believe magical things do occur and that we can optimize our experience with them to create a beautiful, fun, and happy life, despite whatever cards we are dealt.
@ASilentObserver
All obstacles now vanish from my pathway
I'm in perfect harmony with the working of loa
I don't limit god by seeing limitation in myself
I banish the past and live in the wonderful now
Happy surprises come to me each day

@ASilentObserver As a Listener on 7 Cups I feel motivated to know my calling through kindness and being an ear for others. Even if I cannot be mindfully present everyday, I know I can always find motivation on posts such as yours to keep up the good work on the my better days.
@Rainboho I am glad you found my post helpful. It means a lot to me. 😊 It sounds like you care deeply about your role as a Listener on 7 Cups. What motivates you most about being a Listener?
The greatest motivation is knowing that by being a Listener (among other listeners) we all create a safe space for people to come and share their stories.
