I must say I'm afraid of lobsters, crabs and big shrimps. People always think it's fake and they want to test it. Like they put a lobster in front of me at the restaurant and I freak out.

I'm also afraid of the dark.

I'm afraid of needles, snakes, and I have this serious phobia about sharks too.

Myrmecophobia (fear of Ants)

Up until last year, I had no fear of ants, however, after an invasion of such regular and flying last year I have become unbelievably anxious at the site of them. To the point that I have a panic attack if I see them. I tried to seek help from another site but all I kept getting was "Oh well it must be annoying" . . . This only compounded my low self esteem. I found that they were coming thru my double glazed Windows even though I taped all around the seams with duct tape and they were coming through the tape and even through the window lock with the key and tape. I have had pest control companies visit but then refused to come out the last couple times I called. I dreaded going into the kitchen and would to hide upstairs or stay at work later. I became sick to my stomach with anxiety and couldn't see a way out, and still can,t. I was so paranoid that I even had the whole window replaced ! (A small fortune!). Since then I have laying ant traps at the base of the wall and on the window ledge itself. The trap doesn't kill them but instead kills the nests and so takes several days. I have a gel (Nippon) which works well and found reusable traps which makes a huge difference as you can see when the bait has run out and you can add more. Coupled with this I found that they won't cross a line of ground white pepper ! So I put this on the window ledge too, Just writing this is beginning to freak me out but the relief of not seeng them is soooooo amazing but the sight of one still gives me a sharp heart stopping wrench in my gut. So everyday I check and am thankful for each day that they are not there. 😳

@HalliwellSister

unfortunately, none of the solutions are immediate but if you can get through say three days after treatment laid down, I promise it helps. Even one now sends me to panic mode and I cursory check every sunny day. So far, so good, significantly reduced to almost nil in treated area and none in house ! Other than you, no one else appears to appreciate or understand,it's good to know I'm not the only one. Stay strong ! And am here for you 😊😎

I am very afraid of pregnancy.
The fact that I have a female body and I can get pregnant makes me feel desperated, anxious and lost in a sea of hoepeless. I always thought that being pregnant is the worst thing that can happen to me (due to my mother, she always talked bad about pregnant teenagers). I can't handle and understand why so many girls are happy with a baby inside them, I think is something awful, gross, even I can't tolerate a baby. I don't care if he is crying, laughing, eating, sleeping, I just HATE THEM with all my soul. Plus I always thought that having a baby would ruin my life. I am too busy with my projects and wishes, I have no time for a baby, no thanks!
I remember when I started taking contraceptive pills and I didn't get the menstruation in 3 months because the dad of my ex boyfriend gave me different pills. Even knowing I didn't have sex, I thought I was pregnant, and I started hiting my belly a lot and thinking in suicide. So yeah, if I get pregnant, I will kill myself. I promised it to myself.
And sometimes I feel violent when I see a pregnant girl. I remember when I saw a teenager. I wanted to hit her, kill her baby... I know! I am a monster, but that's what I think and feel, and is better if I avoid a penis all my life to don't get pregnant.

@FutureTeacher301

Its okay to not be like everybody else. Do not focus on what you hate, you love many things - recognise your love for those things.

The only reason you feel like a monster, is because you are caring person. If you care for something, you just need to work in its best interests. But society makes us feel that people who express their liking for something are more caring. Just because you don't like children , doesn't mean you hate them. Since you haven't had a child of you own, there is no proof you will hate it. And since it is not born yet, it is OK to not have feelings for it.

Most people will say that they find children very cute - but won't be half as useful as you when it comes to caring for something. Care for the things you already do - it's more precious than you realise.

@FutureTeacher301 You're not alone. When I see a baby and everyone else is coo-ing and gushing over it, I feel nothing. Not one darn thing. I don't want to hold babies, I don't want to see them and I really don't want to hear them.

For the longest time I thought there was something wrong with me because I didn't have a motherly bone in my body. I kinda still do. I'm not normal, that's for darn sure. Maybe I truly am heartless like my mother always told me I was.

sporkchop September 16th, 2016

@FutureTeacher301 I actually like children for the most part, but I definitely share your pregnancy fear. Even when I was a virgin, I was terrified of it. I think my fear started in middle school. I don't remember what started it though. Luckily, I have found a guy who also does not want children, so I've got that going for me. =P
