7 Cups Huddles: Sign Up to Participate in a Closed Group!
Hi everyone,
I am very excited to test a new type of group support which we have called Huddles. This new type of group is inspired by research indicating that recurring group meet-ups - where the same participants meet up regularly to chat about common issues/interests for 8 weeks - can be helpful for mental health.
What are Huddles?
A Huddle is a closed group where the same participants meet up to provide continuous support and social connection to each other over multiple weeks.
Goals and Benefits
- Feel less alone and more supported
- Explore issues in more depth
- Learn from other participants
- Receive consistently high-quality listening support

- Are a member who is ready to commit to 8-weeks of exploring the huddle topic that you choose - both new and older members can sign up!
- Are available to attend all the huddle meetings - please note that participants will lose their participating privileges if they do not show up for the sessions.
- Are impacted by the available huddle topics and feel like the huddle experience can benefit you.
- Are interested in and able to share your own story and growth while participating in a group wherein users are also exploring a similar topic. As a huddle user, you will be asked to support other huddle users, ask supportive questions, or share reflections regarding your personal experiences as well as reflections that may benefit the group.
- Note that because this is a trial to explore the potential of such closed groups, we will ask for feedback at different stages. Your feedback will be used by admins to improve this feature and will always be valued.
@SoulfullyAButterfly
I think there should be one for disabilities - but otherwise I'm so excited to be hosting ^_^
@FrenchMarbles Yes! If I could make the times I would so be there for that especially with all the crap going on right now.
Yeah true
@FrenchMarbles. I like your idea about one for disabilities. đ
Very intested in this group and hopefully one for disability.. some one get me to group huddle please
@FrenchMarbles
How about one for grief, and depression?
@FrenchMarbles hey FM which one are u hosting want to be a part.
Anxiety!
@SoulfullyAButterfly For those huddles that have two weekdays listed - does that mean they will be happening on both of those days, or will they alternate/something else every week?
@cloudySummer Hi there, the 2 days listed refer to 2 "sessions" per week! Hope that clarifies it
@SoulfullyAButterfly I'm a bit confused, especially looking at the times.
For 8 weeks:
Relationship 1, Anxiety 1 - 8 sessions 1 hour each, so each participant would be at 8 for a total of 8 hours
Relationship 2, Anxiety 2 - 16 sessions, 1.5 hours each, so each participant would be at 16 for a total of 24 hours
Mindfulness 1 - 8 sessions, 1.5 hours each, so each participant would be at 8 for a total of 12 hours
Mindfulness 2 - 16 sessions, 1 hour each, so each participant would be at 16 for a total of 16 hours
Is that correct?
That is correct! Some people won't be able to attend for the full 16 hours so there are sorter sessions, I'm also thinking it might help those who can't sit down for that long and focus.
@FrenchMarbles Thanks! Just seemed like a big difference 8 to 24 hours for something new.
@AffyAvo I think they're testing different lengths and formats for evaluating what is the best 'time investment' <-> 'benefit' relation.
Hey I am applying and want to make sure I am available. Have the times already been set?
I for sure would like to join
@TazDepress awesome! Fill out the sign-up form here.
Iâm interested!
@warmheartedrain1718 that's great! Fill out the sign-up form here.
I looked further into the commitment, and Iâm unable to attend some of the sessions. Iâll see if I can participate in the next one!
I am interested in joining but I have a little question. If you cant make it to 1 of the sessions do you get removed from the group? And you know in advance that u will not be able to make it would we have to give reasons?
@Swiftygirl13 Hi there, yes - you will need to find a group that can work for you. For now, these groups are only for adults but we will launch teen ones soon hopefully, with times that work!
@SoulfullyAButterfly
okie np!
Since I'm in the Pacific time zone, I can make the Saturday evening sessions, but not the Tuesday evening ones. Otherwise, I'd be available to attend. I'll keep an eye out for future cycles to see if they match my availability.
Thanks for offering these!
@hematite43 Makes sense, would you recommend any specific topics?
@SoulfullyAButterfly
Anxiety is the topic I'm most interested in. Self-acceptance/self-confidence/authenticity would be another great topic.
@SoulfullyAButterfly
This sounds like a great idea I hope it works well.
@SoulfullyAButterfly I'm curious, what does "mindfulness" mean ? Also I would like a huddle about social anxiety or loneliness like not having friends and stuff.
@mariainfj It's a type of stress reduction tool, somewhat like meditation
that sounds nice ! Thank you :)
Mindfulness: to be present, the "here and now". You can Google CBT, this practice can provide MANY diffrent tools/skills to practice being mindful đ
