Announcing New Answerathon
Hi everyone!
The Needs Reply Queue is beginning to get long so we are asking for help!
We are announcing an answerathon so that people can provide support to those in the Needs Reply Queue and make sure that everyone is heard
What is an answerathon?
It is an answering marathon of needs reply posts
It takes a lot of courage to seek support and to open up to the community in the forums, and if that post goes unseen or doesn't get a reply then the person may feel unheard and might feel discouraged from seeking support so by this we want to make sure everyone is heard and every one gets a reply! This will be a 5 day event
What is a needs reply post?
It is a post that has no one else respond to it, you would be the first person to respond to the post - these are the only ones counted as needs reply
When is it?
Monday 15th May to Friday 19th May
Who can join?
Everyone! (Listeners, members, adults, and teens)
How do I join?
You can join by filling this form
Where do I find needs reply posts?
You can find needs reply posts here
You can also go into subcommunities, click on the drop down and select needs reply
More details:
The minimum number of posts to answer for participation is 10 and must be answered during the answerathon time period
Participants will receive 100 cheers for participation
Posts must be supportive and effective replies rather than just responding to remove a post from needs reply or to get more posts and they will not count if they do not follow effective responding - you can find a post on effective responding here
For every post after the first 10, you will receive 5 extra cheers
The 3 contributors with the most replied to posts will get 500, 250, and 100 cheers

@beck1
Thank you so much for signing up and welcome to the forums! I hope you enjoy and let me know if you have any questions ❤️
@bookworm274 Thank you! I will do
I loved doing this. Hope we could make everyone feel heard next week. I'd even like to start now..

Yay all hands on deck! 🥳
A big thanks to everyone signing up for the event, and to people otherwise too who are always being supportive and compassionate in the forumland. You are so so appreciated! ❤
I love this idea! I see them and try to answer here and there. I'm not ready for some of them but others I will be glad to answer contest or no. I have answered a few, but I am limited cause some are to triggering for me and I would not be helpful.
@adaptableOcean4193 I agree, there are some threads I may not be capable of answering, as well as some that I may not have enough knowledge for.
@adaptableOcean4193 @compassionateOak202 and everyone else having similar thoughts!❤
Hello lovely people! It's absolutely a 100% okay to not feel comfortable or equipped enough with responding to certain forums/ topics!
It's why this is a teamwork-event and we can all contribute to it in our own way, as much we are able to, while caring for self also!
Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Please do be mindful of y'alls wellbeing as well, and feel free to take as many breaks needed in between the responses, or event in general! You're so appreciated! ❤
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou thank you for your response! Might try this event out 😊.
@compassionateOak202 You're so welcome and Yay, that'll be great!
It is always awesome to see you in the forumland, event or no lol! Thankyou for being so supportive and uplifting towards your peers! 😊
@compassionateOak202
As @Sunisshiningandsoareyou mentioned, it's completely okay to not feel up to responding to some of the needs reply posts, and there is never any pressure to respond to posts that you don't feel knowledgeable about or feel able to!
If you would like to join the event you are 100% welcome to and it would be awesome to see! And if not, that's completely fine too! Thank you for caring about others here on cups and wanting to help ❤️
Thank you for this fabulous idea. Everyone has a voice, needs to be heard, and above all respected.
What a wonderful way of ensuring that no one is left out and that everyone feels validated. Love it ! So, i've just signed up and delighted to try and be of help to anyone who needs it.
By helping others, we also help ourselves and send out positivity to the universe.

I support this, but the only thing I'm wary about is that some people will tend to write one-word answers, which is why I left the team; if everyone who joins this puts in the effort, it'll be a wonderful thing. Otherwise, it's just a cheap shot at getting the numbers down.
Also, please note what forums don't have responses; if it's something like the articles, then that needs to be considered; is this required? Do we need to clutter the space with copied and pasted articles? Is that what 7Cups is?
Looking forward to this, I've joined, and I hope things work out great.
@FrenchMarbles
Hey! Your worries are completely understandable, and, as mentioned in the post, only posts that are supportive / effective replies will be accepted and this will be reminded to everyone who signs up before the event begins.
It is important that posts are not simply taken out of the queue but that people are heard, listened to, supported, and receive a thoughtful response! Effective responses are key to the needs reply team and forum in general which is why we remind people of it. If you didn't see that link in the post it is also here, which describes effective responding and the importance of it.
Articles have been something I have discussed before, as it is understandable how it may be frustrating to want to respond to members but, instead, see several of the same/similar articles. Of course, if there are spam posts, then these are not allowed as per forum rules.
Articles can be very helpful to people in the subcommunities, and can definitely be responded to as part of needs reply! It's just important that these also receive thought-out responses.
Thanks for your support in the forums!
