Boundaries are a must they are centered around self care serve us well. I am no longer a people pleaser I do things that give me joy is my guide. It is ok to say no!

@LostTurtle2. I’m not sure that I understand how being more independent would be hurtful. Do you mean trying to be more independent in a “codependent “ relationship for example?

I think Turtle is saying in one incidence, there are those who depend on us to need them. And how Independence can be seen as a negative. Just a thought from a perspective.

Sorry, I didn't mean to highjack the thread. I mean in the real life we're never free and independent and other people are dependent on us too. Just like nations. USA is dependent on foreign oil and overseas manufacturing. Sorry again
