Bio
Hello! I am glad that you’ve found me on 7 Cups of Tea. I am a trained and verified listener.
Who Am I?
Hello! My name is Grae. My pronouns are they/them. I am a 21, gynesexual-panromantic, non-binary university student. currently in women studies, working towards a masters in social work.
I have personal experience in: social and general anxiety; undiagnosed depression; self-harm; eating and over exercise disorders; issues of SA; family stress; family members with cognitive and invisible disabilities, and psychological and a few neurological disorders; and the LGTBQ2IA+ community. Also I have diagnoses of unspecified learning disability, auditory processesing disorder, ADHD, executive functioning problems, and an anxiety disorder.
But even with all this personal experience, I cannot assume everyone has had the same experience as me, so I can only try to do my best to give you help and support. I do not have all the answers, but I do know that 7 Cups of Tea is a very strong community, and that we are here for you when you need us. If I am unable to help you with your situation, or want to talk to someone else for whatever reason, please do not hesitate to reach out for someone who can give you that support. There are people who can, and will, help you, and as there is such a vast amount of knowledge here, you should not be turned away. :) Also, I am no stranger to crisis lines, especially online. So, if you need help finding a crisis phone line or online crisis chat (especially in Canada), I will do my best to help you out. Although I have my ASIST certificate, I can only do what I am capable of and what is stated in my mandate on 7 Cups of Tea.
Please leave a rating and a written review if you have the time. This will help me understand what I do well, and the areas where I need growth or education in.
Two poems that keep me going:
John Wesley's Rule
Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.
--Ella Wheeler Wilcox
"If I Can Stop One Heart from Breaking" [919]
If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one lonely person
Into happiness again
I shall not live in vain.
--Emily Dickinson
