Sleep is important to your physical and mental health, and getting sufficient amount of sleep is important. Most people agree that you need between seven and nine hours sleep. But a variety of factors such as age, health, amount of activity will impact the right number. IIt is also ok if you feel you need more or less than usual but if your sleep is impacting in other ares of life or if your concerned about your sleep you should speak to your doctor as they can help by giving you medical advice that is specific to your needs.

If memory serves, 7 to 8 hours is what is recommended for an adult. Slightly more 9 to 10 is reccomended for teenagers. But of course everyone is different, I'd try 8 hours and see if you feel well rested the next day. If not then try 9. If you find you feel groggy and sluggish this might also be from too much sleep. So then try getting a little less. Just find the right balance that works for you and try to stick to it. If you do it long enough you might even find yourself waking up a few minutes before your alarm.
This question is individual. It is recommended to sleep 8 hours, but some people might feel fully rested after 6 hours of sleep and some wont feel fully rested until after 10 hours of sleep. The time of falling asleep might affect how rested you feel aswell. Going to bed very late and waking up late can make you tired even though you have had your 8 hours. The sleep realy affects your mood. I would try to go to bed before midnight but cant always fall asleep instantly. Waking up early gives you lots of time for you to do what you want during the day :)
As a person who wants to study psychology, I can safely say that sleep is crucial. And it has been shown time and time again, from a psychological perspective. If you sleep less than six hours, you are shortchanging the brain of learning restoration time, so you are less productive than usual. Additionally, shorter sleep means a shorter lifespan. Insufficient sleep can increase the likelihood of developing Alzheimer's, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, depression, and anxiety. To answer the question concisely, I would just listen to the National Sleep Foundation recommends that adults sleep an average of eight hours a night. However, it varies greatly from person to person, but no one should go below six because it can be highly detrimental to your cognition. If you want to know more, you should check out a book by Matthew Walker, PhD "Summary & Discussions of Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams."

8 hours is the daily recommended sleep everyone should get. 9 Hours is the recommended for teenagers. Melatonin is a natural chemical produced by the body that causes tiredness. This is something that can be bought in various mg over the counter and does no harm. Tea can be made from valerian root which is also naturally sleep inducing. Activities you do in your bed should exclusively be sleeping, otherwise your body will train itself not to sleep in that place. If you take a nap it should be 29 minutes long as that is the maximum for optimal restfulness.
The short answer is: it depends. 6-8 hours is widely recommended, but some people could need more. If you work a lot during the day, you will need more quality sleep. It is supported that although hours of sleep do matter, the quality of your sleep is even more important. By having a good night routine, peaceful surroundings, and a good bed/pillow, it can help ensure quality sleep. Being happy and healthy also plays a role in how much sleep you need. When you are happy and less stressed, your body will be able to function with less sleep compared to if you are unhealthy and in a constant bad state of mind. Anywhere from 6-10 hours is reasonable, and every person should experiment with what works best for their body.
Sleep is so so so so important to be able to take care of our selves and when we want to help other people too! A normal amount of sleep really depends on how old you are. As a teen ager, you should be getting about 7 8 9 or even 10 hours. you will see that after you get a good nights sleep, your day will be so much better as opposed to a day you did not get good sleep! Now with no school, our sleep schedules can get super whacked, but do not let them!!! Get good sleep you guys!
You should get at least 7-8 hours of sleep daily as it is very much beneficial for mind and body. Sleeping less cause problems in mind and body as the body doesn’t get adequate rest. Sleeping is very much important and sleeping on the right time too, we should avoid late time work and try to sleep on time as the person who doesn’t sleep at the right time won’t be able to wake up at the required time and will feel lazy through out the day causing problems to his day to day work and social activities, so one must sleep at least 8hours to feel fresh during morning hours.
I believe this varies greatly depending on your own personal needs. A number of factors are taken in to consideration, for example this would include your age, gender and your daily activities to calculate the appropriate amount of sleep for you as an individual. I try to aim for 8 hours sleep each night however this fluctuates greatly depending on what I have done that day, how my diet has been and what lies ahead for me the following day. If you're concerned about your sleeping pattern or ability to sleep, a GP would be happy to help you out.
Sleeping 8 hours a day and that also on time is highly recommended. I have seen it in my life that whenever my sleep cycle get disrupted, I faced anxiety issues and irritation the next day. So to take care of your mind you should be sleeping at least 6 hours to 8 hours. A good sleep ensures your good mental health which in turn helps in physical health too. It's because of stress every other disease happens to our body. So just be calm, stay healthy, and have a good night sleep. I wish you all the best.

Sleep is absolutely essential for your health. Although most men and women need about 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night, their sleep patterns are generally different. some people may need as few as 6 hours or as many as 10 hours of sleep each day. I usually sleep at least 6,5 hours and I'm trying to reach 7,5 - 8 hours. It's very important because sleep is necessary to help regulate hormones and body processes. Without enough sleep, your physical and emotional health can suffer. Sleep allows your body to rejuvenate from a day of abuse like working and stress.
This answer is different for everyone as it depends on your age, and the general length of your sleep cycles. It is usually recommended to NOT wake up in the middle of one of your sleep cycles so that you feel the most rested when you first wake up in the morning. One method that I used to determine this was to sleep for a different amount of time for an entire week and I logged when I felt the best when waking up. That helped me determine how long I should sleep before waking up to prevent waking up in the middle of a sleep cycle.
The ideal amount of daily sleep is between 7 to 9 hours. The right amount differs from person to person but most find that in order to function optimally, they need at least 7 hours. If a person has trouble falling asleep they should work on sleep hygiene. Good sleep hygiene includes shutting off all phones and tablets an hour before bed. Blue light will disrupt the sleep wake cycle. Try to relax and decompress from stress that has accumulated from the day. Also, getting in bed and waking up at roughly the same time everyday will help your body clock establish regular sleeping hours.

Will depending on your age if you are between 6 through 13 years old the recommended amount of sleep is 9 through 11 hours but what is appropriate for the age limit is seven up to 12 hours. Teenagers 14 through 17 years old the recommended amount of sleep is 8 to 10 hours. but what may also be appropriate is anywhere between 7 to 11 hours. another one which is for young adults 18 through 25 the recommended amount of sleep is 79 hours. But what is also acceptable is 6 to 11 hours of sleep. in older adults from 26 to 6479 hours of sleep is recommended. But it may be appropriate for them to get anywhere between 6 to 10 hours of sleep.
I would imagine the hours of sleep needed could be dependent upon your age as one of the factors. Teens need more sleep hours than adults. But everyone is different. If you googled this information, you might still want to proceed with caution and just really use it as a "rule of thumb" a little guide line. If you feel you are more tired than usual and are concerned or sleeping less, these are great things to bring up to your primary care physician/medical doctor. I think they would get a better understanding of your age, activity level, life style, etc and could be a great source to help with something like this.
It depends on the person, especially the age, and what you do during your day. There's a small minority of people who can live normally while sleeping only 3-4 hours, but sadly most of us need more sleep than that. Babies need a lot of sleep, children do as well. Teenagers often sleep less than they should and stay awake at night when they shouldn't. It's just hormones :). The official recommendation for adults is 7-8 hours but as i mentioned, you may sleep for as much as 10 hours, or as little as 4. *If you are worried your sleep patterns are abnormal, talk to a doctor or a psychologist!*

Based on age and daily activity the amount of time a person should get sleep differs. What I have learned is to set a time for when to go to bed, start a regimen. I where a Fitbit tracker that records my sleep patterns, this has helped me to see how much sleep I am getting every night, how often I am waking up and if I am restless. What I have noticed is that if I eat dinner earlier in the evening and have a glass of tea before bed I have been able to fall asleep faster. Every person differs, so there is no one direct answer to as how much sleep we should get.
How much sleep you need depends on you. I know someone who feel nice and fresh from merely 5 hours of sleep everyday. The average person apparently needs about 8 hours daily. If I get any sleep less than 10 hours, I feel sleep deprived.
To determine how much sleep you need, try sleeping without an alarm clock. Get out of bed when you feel you can't fall asleep again. Record when you went to bed and when you woke up. The interval between when you slept and woke up is about how much sleep you need daily. Make sure you pay off your sleep debt before doing this experiment, because if you do this experiment when sleep deprived, your calculated daily sleep requirements will be higher than normal.
It is good practice to get 8 hours sleep. This helps performance in mental and physical activities. Sleep is a chance for your body to repair itself mentally and physically. Sleep is a necessary part of life, not a necessary evil. Let's help ourselves and those we love by encouraging more sleep. Sleep is something to do every day and is a chance to wind down from the stress of daily activity. Sleep is a time to enjoy the consideration of what you have done with your day. So make sure you get enough sleep.
You should aim for at least 7 hours. It’s alarming how many people neglect their sleeping schedule and think how that’s not really an important part in their journey to success (or anything, for that matter). It’s crucial to get at least 7 hours of sleep as sleep is when we recharge and regain majority (if not all) of our energy we expended throughout the day. Our brain works nonstop and sleep deprivation wouldn’t help it, now, would it?
I truly hope everyone can squeeze 7 hours into their sleeping schedule. There are no excuses. It WILL change your life!
It depends on the person sometimes 6-7 hours is enough and for other people it can be 8-9 or more. It’s how ever much you feel you need to recuperate and your body needs in order to be healthy. Plus on different days it can vary if you have work during the week then you could have less sleep because you have less time on your hands however when it’s the weekend you may be able to get more sleep in because it’s easier to Manage your time. Don’t feel disheartened if you can’t stick to a routine as sometimes it’s hard to stay consistent.
Sleep is a very important part of someone's life. Many people get different amounts of sleep and it works for them in some case. For some adults they get less than 6 hours and are on caffeine which makes them more productive. However for some people, people need their sleep or else they will crash in the middle of the day. In my opinion the best amount of sleep is between 8-10 hours of sleep per night. Anything more is bad for you because it can make you sleepy and also getting too less will make you sleepy. All in all, 8-10 hours is the right amount.
That depends on the age. Babies typically need as much as 17 hours of sleep. As you age and stop developing you will need less sleep. Toddlers need anywhere from 11 to 14 hours of sleep, preschoolers need 10 to 13 hours. Then, 6 to 13 year olds need about 9 to 11 hours daily. Teenagers need 8 to 10, and adults need 7-9. It all depends on your age, which corresponds to development. If you are growing taller more (or on your menstrual cycle) you might feel tired more and need to get more sleep. The numbers listed above are averages.
I have seen a few people who can survive just fine with 5-6 hours of sleep and wake up really energised. And when they sleep more than that, they wake up feeling groggy and not having slept enough. But the healthy and normal duration is 6-8 hours a day. Now, for me, I think 6 hours is too little. You have to find out which end of the duration is okay for you. Also, take naps whenever you can. Recharge, relax. You need all the energy you can get. In case you need a shut-eye in the middle of work or studies, take a nap for about 30 minutes tops. If you sleep longer than that, you will just wake up tired and wanting more.
That question is completely impossible to answer without knowing you. Sleep requirements depend of the person, age (generally, the younger you are the more sleep you need), and time of year (you need less sleep in the summer, and more in the winter).
It also depends greatly on your regular activity levels and diet. When I work out consistently and eat properly, I usually need less sleep. Not doing these things? 9-10 hours. With them? 7-8 hours. While this is anecdotal, I know more than one person who this happens to.
We need as much sleep as our bodies need to feel restored. The "recommended" is 8 hours, but some need 10, some need 4. Really you should be getting enough sleep that you can wake up naturally without an alarm clock.
Not much is known about sleep. There are experts with decades in the field, that when asked will reply 'during the day something is lost, and when we sleep it is restored'.
It is different for people how much sleep they need individually. The scientific consensus is centered around 7-9 hours of sleep daily. You should experiment with the amount you feel comfortable with. It is also important whether it is quality sleep or not. There are sleep-tracking apps that help you to get an estimate of that. It is very important (according to Jordan Peterson), to get up at the same time every day, rather than focusing going to bed early (or at the exactly same time everyday). As for my personal experience, I tend to prefer 9 hours of sleep every day and I feel the most comfortable sleeping from 11 pm to 8 am. I also had to experiment with different combinations until I realized that this suits me the best. I hope this answer helps! :)
Everyone has different needs for sleep. It's important that you feel like you got enough restful sleep but not too much and that you do whatever else makes your sleep best for you. That might mean developing a bedtime routine that lets you sleep more comfortably, without screen time before bed, in a cozy and safe place. There are guidelines for sleep that say you need something like 8 hours per night, but this is different for each person. Some do well with 7 hours and others need 10. It's not the hours of sleep for some people but the quality of sleep

On average, it’s around 8 hours. However it can depend based on your age, job type, hobbies, sports, diet etc. It’s different for everyone! However if you are feeling tired a lot this could be a sign that you are not getting enough. This could be due to stress or possibly a physical health problem. Your doctor should be able to help you out if you think this is the case! There is also such thing as too much sleep. This is quite common in depression sufferers. You may find yourself feeling lethargic or struggling to get out of bed!
The amount of sleep an individual needs each night is entirely dependent on their personal preference. For some people, 6 hours may be sufficient, whereas some people may need closer to 10 to feel they are functioning optimally. I need between 7-8, but I would recommend that everyone experiment with their sleep to find what works best for them. You may find that you need a little less rest than the average person or even a little more. Either way, I would recommend that each person get at least 6 hours, but beyond that, it is a question that is up to personal preference.

Sleep is one of the most underrated aspects of a daily life. These days switching off at night seems to be harder and harder but the benefits of sleep far outweigh any other concerns. An average adult should get 7-8 hours of a sleep at night while anyone younger should be sleeping at least 9 hours a night. Sleep allows the body to rest and recover and has a huge impact on our mental and physical health. Sleeping well will help you start the next day energized and ready to go while also ensuring your fatigue is reduced overall.
