Updated Version: Member Compassion Course
by ASilentObserver

...See more Hi everyone, I hope you are doing well. This post is about - the 7 Cups Compassion Course [https://www.7cups.com/forum/welcome/Resourcesat7CupstoHelpYou_1275/ReIntroducingMemberCompassionCourse_252883/] which we reintroduced in 2021.  The goal of this course is to understand and know the basics of practicing compassion and help & support our members to have a compassionate experience in the community. This course allows you to foster healthy conversations and connections as well as be a compassionate, loving, supportive, and amazing member of the group support chats [https://www.7cups.com/connect/groupChatrooms.php] and the community. Based on the feedback we received, we made some changes and improvements to make the course a bit more comprehensive as well as covering different topics like compassion, self-compassion, universal compassion, benefits, and challenges, etc to foster a better understanding and practice of compassion in our daily lives.  Who can participate? Any member can take this quiz. Even if you are an experienced member, give it an attempt. Because we are all learning and practicing compassion. How can a member participate? * Once you have completed the course, please let us know in the comments of this post. * Also, tag any 3 members you know to invite them to take the quiz as well. If you do not know anyone, that is okay. * Your responses to the course will be auto-graded and if you successfully pass it, you will receive a “Compassion Hero” badge. * If you didn’t pass, that’s okay. Feedback will be shared and then you can retake the course. Why should you give it an attempt? Because it presents an opportunity to take a moment to self-reflect and assess self-awareness. Here is some feedback that we received on why one took this course.  * I appreciate the opportunity to take a moment and reflect on self-awareness. It’s a good exercise to be intentional and concise. Life is a daily practice, and practicing compassion never hurts. * I was nicely surprised to take this course because sadly some people need to be refreshed on how to treat others, and it's a great feeling knowing that 7cups take that extra precaution to protect all of us on our journeys. Thank you! * How engaging and thought-provoking the questions were. * I liked that the course made me stop to think about compassion and how I can be more compassionate. * I learned a few ways that I could be more compassionate. I'm not the best at reaching out.  * The course helped me understand more about compassion and gave me questions that got me to think. >> Take the Compassion Course and share your score in the comments. Let's celebrate our commitment to kindness together. 💖 [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScMEXP6lopKu4ZJAtmctmwk0vq9Fp7T892gWJteqmQoIJa_Dg/viewform]<< (Text is hyperlinked, click it to start the quiz)

Calling All Verified Listeners: Help Wanted on the 7 Cups Welcome Committee!
by Heather225

...See more The hardest part of the journey is sometimes the beginning, and this is especially true of our newbies. We as a community have the power and ability to ensure they get properly oriented and supported so that their journey is smooth. I have been actively contacting newbies over the past couple of months and the results have been inspiring. Roughly 80% of those I sent a personal message responded to me and very appreciatively! That's a really big deal because those people have a much higher chance of being retained (retained = staying on 7 Cups). But I need help! So it's with great excitement, that I announce the revamped relaunch of the Welcome Committee! Through this initiative, we can meet our newcomers at the start with a friendly welcome (think hospitality, a greeter, etc.). We will also provide guidance and resources they need to navigate their first steps. The tasks are simple. PMing brand new members off a list, saying hi, giving resources, answering their questions and sending follow-up PMs to make sure their transition is complete. There's a few requirements to be qualify to be a Welcomer: Requirements: ✅  You must be a Verified Listener (find out how to get verified here) [https://www.7cups.com/forum/listenerjourney/ListenerVerificationProject_1839/GetVerifiedon7Cups_290064/] ✅  No behavior reports (BPS) within 3 months ✅  Comfortable PMing ✅  Google Sheets skills – Basic knowledge of managing data in Google Sheets is necessary. Note: The team uses spreadsheets to copy/paste names and log PMs so you'll need access to a computer/laptop device. This work can't be done via phone. We apologize for the inconvenience! ✅  Maintenance criteria: 2-3 hours a month to dedicate to this project The monthly quota: Adults: Welcome 30 members (60 messages sent including first PM & followup) Teens: Welcome 15 members (30 messages sent including first PM & followup) You can make a huge difference in our community's growth by joining us. I look forward to building this team with you! >>> Apply here! ...See more Hope and love are the only magic granted to me. It's what keeps me from giving up. Victory and success are no close friends of mine...but as long as I don't give up neither are defeat or failure. The hill is the infinite world inside us all. Don't forget that the mind and body is all we truly have. Maybe there's a God but we're still trapped in our minds. Maybe there's no God but we're still trapped in our minds. Tell these bast**** in our mind trying to kill us that we're not trapped in there with them, they're the ones who are trapped in here with us and they'll be obliterated down to their very scraps if they don't learn to play by the rules. The rules we set for our mind and body. That is our space not theirs. I sit inside my own mind waiting for them to try strike me down from my mind palace. F*** them. If I do not forfeit. If I do not retreat. They will never win and I will never lose.

...See more For me, it’s the belief that even small acts of kindness can create a ripple effect, making the world a bit brighter. Plus, seeing the positive impact on others often brings a sense of fulfillment and joy that’s hard to beat. What about you? What drives your commitment to kindness?

Where are ScreenNames 1-18?

...See more I'll get to the point of the thread title, but I should introduce myself first. Hey! I'm ScreenName19 and I'm 30 years old. I'm not good at talking to people but I totally want to be. I'm a stay-at-home mom with no friends. I have always had social anxiety, and it's hard to meet people. It's also hard to like people enough to want to hang out with them. (Not that I think very highly of myself.) It'd be cool to end up meeting a girl I get along with on this website, but I won't get my hopes up. I was just going to make my screen name ScreenName, but that was taken, and so was 1-18. I want to know who are all of these other ScreenNames that checked number by number? They might be my people.

...See more    In this story, you are the main character. Please envision yourself as "I" in the story. Camie (me) is your friend. Enjoy <3.  "Hey, Camie?" I ask.    She turns her head around to face me, ever so slightly, to signal 'yeah?'     The wind did not approve of the sudden movement and sent a fistful of spite. This, in doing so, caused Camie's dark locks to envelope her sun-kissed face.     I giggle at the sight.     "Are we- are we still gonna run away together?" I work up the courage to ask.     She stares at me in disbelief. Then she starts laughing.    At this point I'm just very confused, but I work up a smile. After all, laughs are contagious.     "Of course we're gonna run away together, silly", she says.     She points her hand into the sky, high high above, where no one can reach us. "That's where we're gonna go". "It's gonna be our place". "Only ours, and no one else's".    Then she pulls me close, into a hug. She tangles my hair in-between her soft fingers and plants a plum-colored kiss on my cheek (it's one of those kisses that make you float and sends an electric shock that tingles).    She continues, looking into my eyes,  "It's gonna be a place of no violence,    no judgement,   no perfect God,    no money--"    You stop her.   "But most importantly", you start. "It's gonna be a place where...  feel free to leave your answer in the comments, it could be what you don't want or what you want our world to have, or just anything you wanna say to fill it in.  Thank you for reading. Um please pay no mind to my bad writing. I hope you could spare a comment(s) for me. I'm looking forward to your answer(s)!
