@tealChestnut6477

Being diagnosed at such a young age sounds very heavy.

I imagine it must have been/still is difficult.

I hope you were provided with the appropriate resources<3

We are here for you<3πŸ’›πŸ’«

Beloved, that's a pretty heavy diagnosis. Your experience of it still getting to you makes sense.

Can you share what specifically is going on for you?

I'm sorry. It can take alot of time and work to heal the wounds into scars. Please be kind to yourself as you work through it and surround yourself with a few good supporters to walk with you. πŸ’›

@journeyingforward I've pretty much been by myself

Sometimes it's easier to stick by ourselves becsuse its so dfficult to open up and trust. But, we have to try and find support - even if its just one other person for now.

There is a belief that we need positive healthy relationships to heal from the negative harmful ones. My experience on my own healing has taught me that this is true.

I am a Listener. Please feel free to message me if you want to connect.

Be well, beloved. πŸ’›

@tealChestnut6477 I'm so sorry for what you went through. The past never really seems to stay in the past. If you have unresolved childhood trauma it can still cause you issues. Nightmares - fears - depression and anxiety and a whole mess of other things tbh. Have you talked with a therapist? One that's trauma informed is the best way to go. Sometimes we just need to talk through it - to find people who understand and are willing to listen. Journaling can help - writing down the things you went through. Some times there might be some inner work that needs to be done. This is a good place to start - because it can be hard to share some times but this is a safe space. You don't have to go through it alone ❀️

@mytwistedsoul I've seen therapists and psychiatrists and it still seems to affect me

@tealChestnut6477 I think alot of times there are going to be certain parts of trauma that can stick with us for years afterwards. I don't think that our triggers ever fully go away - we just learn how to cope with them better. Therapy helps alot but it's also good to have a support system to turn to. Are there people that support you with what you're dealing with? I mean - you have us here on cups we can offer support and understanding and an ear or two if you need them

Sometimes we need to revisit things - areas of trauma we went through. Which sucks tbh - because alot of times we just want to be done with the whole thing so we can move forward. I really wish it was that easy. Sometimes we might think we're ok but then something happens - it can be something minor but it reopens everything back up again. There's a saying - healing isn't linear and unfortunately it isn't. We go forward a few steps - we might back track or even go in circles now and again and then take a few more steps forward again

I saw in another reply you mentioned needing numbers for crisis resources - I'm sorry if I misunderstood but I thought I'd leave a link here for that - in case https://www.7cups.com/crisis/

Sorry to hear this, never seen someone that is diagnosed at such a young age, it must be difficult.
It is a nice start to share it on here(this website), sharing things you don't like or how you feel really release the stress, and maybe it will help, stay positive my friend!!!

Best

I totally understand feeling tired of having flashbacks. It's almost like you can't tell the difference between a real gut feeling and a trauma response. It's easier said than done, but try doing things that make you happier. I personally know how hard it is to keep going after experiencing it. Have you tried texting the crisis line just so you have someone to talk to during a panic attack?

Text Home to 741741

Sometimes it does take a bit for them to respond. So if you're not in a crisis and just need someone to talk you through your panic attack, text them. They send helpful links and even pdf's of grounding techniques
