I'm fostering a dog. Pups are pure therapy
I usually think about what negativety will get me and what it won't. When it becomes clear that negativity gets me no where, I set a goal for my self. One that I can achieve and that relaxes me.
Journal, meditate, walk, talk to a friend, distract with an activity
Listen to music and reflect on my life
Puppyyyyyyy
I have go-to prayers that I find soothing as well as meditation
Adopt your favorite pet, pets are amazing.
Writing everything done keeping a journal or talking. Listening to music..
Negative emos get the best of me..
After traumatic experiences, my way of coping with negative emotions is 1) come back from dissociation by grounding techniques (running my finger tips across a textured surface); 2) try to stay in the present with mindfulness techniues, including deep breathing, relaxation techniques, and guided meditation; 3) for suicidal feelings, a strong safety plan and Marsha Linehan's DBT, including distraction, self-soothing, and holding an ice cube in your hand; 4) for long tangled issues, write it out and get the best therapist you can find.
Distract yourself. Simple as that, but if that doesn't work try calling a friend or loved one and let it all out, bottling it up only complicates it more.
