Down here

Hello Lady Avaray,

I have been a bit worried because there were some floods but we were not sure if you lived near to where they happened or not. Happy birthday to your son, that is a really nice cake. Does he like the, forgot the name, the building things kind of like Lego but not Lego? I have had a few months now being an adult, it does not really feel all that much different. Maybe a big light and a loud voice saying ‘Now you are an adult’, just to make sure you are an adult and know it. I can legally drink in this province of Canada although I have not tried it yet because I doubt any of the drinks would taste that nice. I am also currently happy with drinking apple juice and mint tea, so there is no hurry to change such things.

Because you live on the upside-down part of the world, it is now spring here, well it is claimed to be spring here. So, we had Easter holidays which was two weeks, then school will finish around June or maybe July. Not sure because I am in my last year but we are going camping, then going to see granny and granddad, then going to see Mama and of course then to Milan to light a candle for Papa. That is in August, plus just me and Mama are going to see The Last Supper, it is expensive €144 for just us but it is something that you have to see at least once. Everyone else has already seen it, so it will just be with Mama and all the other oldies can go drink some wine or something. My bestest friend did come home for Easter and we went go karting. Let’s say that I do not think I will ever drive until they put tire walls around all the roads.

Tomorrow is my God Sisters 2nd birthday, so looking forward to that, it works out well because she goes to a playgroup then she and her mommy comes and get me from school. There is also a party on Saturday so I will get to see her lots. She is really growing up fast, really good at walking and eating. She also knows a lot of words, I have been reading to her, so hopefully that has helped her a little (her mommy and daddy also ready to her as well of course). Maybe next year she will like painting and colouring in, we will see though. She does not like doggies though, so Molly and the fully recovered Benji will have to stay away or there will be a grumpy Ame.

I do believe that you suffer from naughty brain syndrome, they can be very naughty indeed. My legs since I can remember have sometimes hurt and not sure how it started but moving them around helped with that pain. Now I go jumping which really helps to get rid of any pain or just restlessness also if they hurt, I can lay down, then I can get mommy or someone to move them about and I can push them which also helps. So, if you have pain then really you have pain regardless of what anyone says, it is subjective and we just need to find a way to make that pain go away. Not really sure what would make your pain go away but that might be something but I have had lots of MRIs and no one can find the hurting legs part of it. Maybe we both have sneaky brains as well 😳 . I do not like physiotherapist due to bad memories but talk to them for ideas. Maybe something like swimming would help, it very… forgiving when I have felt frustrated. So, there must be a way of getting rid of the pain and it is ok to take your exam in November.

Being very stubborn is the key most things! In French Je means I but in Dutch Je means you, they have completely different sounds but I still get them confused after two years or so of learning Dutch. It does not really matter; I just have to be stubborn and one day my brain will work it out. 😃

Any who, *hugs* take care,

Ame

Hi young adult 🤪 I still like to call you kiddo, and our age gap is still the same. And yes in the alcohol, apple juice is cool, literally and figuratively. I cannot comment on iced tea, I like coffee instead.

My grandpa was an alcoholic and my one uncle died from cancer related to alcohol, my other uncle became almost homeless because of alcohol, so I don't drink and I also don't want to regardless, never could work out why people like it. The smell alone makes Ava woozy 🤣

My "friends" spiked a punch (fruit juice mix) at a party and it didn't have a smell, well... I became a much more talkative Ava. But that was many moons ago when they used drums to communicate and released doves to fly a message across the country and they may still have been writing on cave walls 🤔

Yes I'm talking nonsense 😁

The floods were not where I live, but that was terrible, very tragic 😔

I'm glad you get to go see your grandparents, that's important. And I think spending extra money is ok when it's something that is special and memorable and adds to one's life in a positive way. And especially that you get to make that special memory with your amazing mom xx

Your God daughter sounds like a sweetheart, a part of me wishes I could do a redo of those times of my life with my kids so I could do things better and have hindsight knowledge and not lost so much time in deep depression. But one cannot do that so one has to make the most of the now.

My daughter turns 13 this month 😳 I don't feel that old.... Big sigh.... Fortunately people don't say I look my age so that's a positive I will take 🤣

She wants a Smarty KitKat chocolate cake so Ava will be baking and then going on a diet in August because my cholesterol is very high. And I need to loose a lot of weight.

What are you thinking about doing when you finish school?

Anyway young lady.

I need to be ending off xx

Let me know how you are doing xxx hugs

Hello Avaray.

Oh no… you will have a 13-year-old in the house soon, they bite and are very grumpy all the time... wait that was me maybe your daughter will not bite people. It seems strange because I was that age but a very long time ago but I also do not feel like an adult as yet so kiddo is just fine with me 😜 I think the Smarty KitKat cake sounds lovely, kind of wondering what you call smarties are the same as here or in Europe. August is such a lovely month to have a birthday as well up here *hello* because it is summer holidays so you can more things, not sure down there where you are. I hope she has a lovely birthday. Just for the record I do not bite people anymore unless the really deserve it and teens are allowed to be grumpy.

As for alcohol if you do not like it then please stay away from it, there are many other things although coffee is not as good as tea (mint tea is my suggestion). I am sorry about your grandpa and your uncle, not sure what to say, so… always enjoy it but never drink it to harm yourself. I find that drunk people tend to be funny but I am not normally around drunk people that often. I guess that it would be funny to see a woozy Ava but we can make you eat lots of sugar, tasty and also, we get to see the same affect/effect. I think you are joking about using drums to communicate but the messenger pigeon went extinct in 1914. Now, I do not think you are that old because that was around granddad was still a teen. 😝 And yes, he was grumpy teen as well!

I think I have forgotten how to speak English; I keep getting the grammar wrong argh! Oh Button, my lovely God sister is amazing and we were painting which she really enjoyed but I really like who she is right now. I am not a parent but you learn and get things wrong sometimes but the growing into a person of today is the best part. She has gone to visit family and on Thursday morning we are going to see mama, then going to Milan afterwards. So, I am looking forward to that and this is the last going away before I start as an undergraduate at mommy’s school. I am applying to go study in Spain and stay with mama but that is kind of scary, that would be autumn 2023. Now that feels really grown up but I am trying not to think about it, the studying physics, philosophy, art history and logic and reasoning will keep my mind off things. That is just the first semester EeKs!

I noticed something as well, Benji with a J! Interesting… because in Dutch they put Js everywhere, if there is a space, they just put one in for fujn! I found this video https://youtu.be/03Q3WYCNgL0 to be honest I did not spot this before but Afrikaans is very close to Dutch. I am not sure how well I can speak Dutch until I get my exam results back but apart from small spelling and pronunciations differences but it is understandable. In Dutch the I-J is very common like in wijn, rijst and moeilijk although they have a J-E as well not to be confused with the French J-E. Can you see why I get so mixed up? Any who, a good exercise is to wake your husband and Benji up because they are noisy boys and thus sleeping in the garden, then go take Benji for a walk. 😊

I really wanted to come back to the pain that you have, I also have pain that is not really knowable but it still hurts. If it hurts then it hurts and then it has to be addressed. Pain is very subjective and people cannot see it but please do not dismiss yourself so quickly. Doctors are really lazy people [joking] but some of them, not all of them, will tell you what you are feeling rather than listen. So, keep pushing to be pain free. I do not understand it but pain medicine stops the nerves from sending a signal to your brain. Perhaps there are other things which can also help? When my legs hurt I kind of pushing them against something really helps, so it is wakes them up and resets them back to zero. Any who, there is always a solution, so please do not give up.

*hugs*

Ame

P.S. it feel so longggggggg….. really want to get on the plane now….

Hello,

I did have a good holiday and it feels like so much as happened since as well! It might be 14 year olds that bite, so you might have to watch out next year for it. Although it sounds like you have a naughty doggy on your hands. I hope that you are well and that you exams/studying are going well? Take care,

@AmalieAnneHey kiddo, glad you had a good time away, what did you do there?

I hope 14 year old's don't bite 😬😜

I wrote my exam yesterday, and I know I passed because I seemed to know the work, just not sure on the percentage.

I've been given the opportunity to study further if I want to, by adding on modules to my existing studies I've done .... So thinking about it, but it's Tax stuff, and business law stuff so, well I'm not sure.... It sounds hard.

My son's teacher's bday tomorrow so we are going to decorate with hearts and make a cake etc for her, she is very special to us.

How you doing? How's mom keeping?

Hugs amazing Ames 🤗💕

@Avaray it will not let me reply to your last message, so I put it here.

Hello Lady Avaray,

We all went to Milan which was lovely and it felt nice that to have Mama with us, Christmas is soon and I am really looking forward to seeing everyone then (even my sister, who I love but is very bossy). Mama and Papa had their honeymoon in Milan, many years after they got married because of Spain being a dictatorship and all of that. So, it was nice to feel closer to him and for me it was a ‘hey I really miss you a lot’ thing. It also felt romantic but in a love story way not in an icky way! The only thing we did not get to do was the Alice in Wonderland ice cream parlour because they had also gone on holiday. Granddad was very sad to not have a sundae, I had the money ready and everything. I found him somewhere to get gelato so he was not too grumpy *smile*

I am quite sure that 14-year-olds do bite, you have less than a year to get ready for it eeks! My best advice is to have lots of candy ready because that will stop the biting! Despite now being an official adult, I still have to get candy for her, it feels like the right thing to do. Well done on your exam, I am sure you did stupendously well indeed. If you can have a break before studying more then it might be worth thinking about studying tax and business law. Although those two things sound boring, sorry to be so harsh but they are. The physics I am studying at the moment is difficult but making my brain think of wonderful things. You should have a break and then decide or you can decide to study physics. It is amazing.

I know teachers can be just amazing, your son’s teacher I think is a wonderful person because of disabilities and stuff. My God sister’s mommy used to be my teacher and she was a really wonderful teacher for many reasons but she also knew how to not make my disabilities not get in the way of learning and having fun. I am now Undergraduate Ame, it is very different from school but I really like it. It happens to be mommy’s school, so it feels safe and not too difficult. I can just go to her office and have a sleep or get a hug if I need one. Mommy is doing well, she is teaching and we were talking about taking self-defensive lessons. It is just an idea for now. Other than that, things are kind of normal which is nice.

Other than that, just lots of reading. Did you get the pain you are having sorted out? I hope so, *hugs* in the meantime and think about the learning physics.

Hey there Young Lady 🤗

Happy birthday to you 🎉💕

I hope you had a lovely day and ate lots of cake.

Josh and I sang happy birthday to you but the jolly video voice clip wouldn't go through to cups site, obviously Ava was doing something wrong 🙄

What did you do for your birthday?

How old are you now, have you reached my age yet 😜

Your trip sounds amazing, I know what you mean about your mom and dad xx I know you love your dad dearly xx hugs um.... Where is my sundae 🙁😜💕

I'm not sure I would do well at physics, my brain is better with numbers, it's sort of like doing a puzzle, but you are a bright young lass and you will do great at that, just don't blow anything up 🤣💕 About taking a break....... umm.... It's like welcome to South Africa, the courier that was transporting the exam papers we wrote got hijacked and our papers have gone along with whatever else was on the courier truck, so I was told last week I have to rewrite my exam! True story! I first hit, maybe my paper wasn't in that batch, then I got notification it was, then I hit shock and shed a few years and now in a semi numb mode letting the disappointment of the whole thing set in. I will start exam prep in December again as I write in January. My hand is so sore, so trying to get them to give me a little extra time to write so that I'm not at a disadvantage, because writing at a fast rate for 3 and a half hours is a lot on the hand and you can't be slow if you want to be able to finish.

So Ava is a tad sad about that 😕

I'm glad mom is doing ok and yes it's almost time for Christmas and even seeing bossy sister will be great 😜💕

Let me know how birthday went.

Lots of love 🤗

@Avaray

Hello Avaray,

Thank you for the birthday wishes, I did read them on the day but I wanted to give a longer reply (plus 7cups does not show the reply button). I would have loved to hear you and Josh sing happy birthday; I still remember the toothbrush song you did :P It is not there anymore sadly. Computers are sneaky like that sadly, it might be the A.I. taking over or they were just being silly at the time. I did have breakfast in bed at Button’s (my God Sister) like an oldie and then cake later. My present was going to London to see The London philharmonic a few weeks ago which was amazing but I got some clothes and percy pigs which mommy ate all in one go (it might have been me but they are yummy). I am now 19 and almost a real adult which is quite scary. Although I am catching up with you!

Our trip to Milan was amazing, it was just me and granddad that went to get a sundae. It was The Rabbit Hole Cafè, I cannot find their website but it looked like it would have been good from looking through the window. We might have again but will double check that they are open, for granddad of course, so he does not miss out! You can get gelato everywhere though which is also nice. University I think is going well, there is a lot of reading and it is kind of fun not knowing things, trying to work them out. At the moment that is not much maths, there have been a few letters which mean things. For some reason taking X-rays of small crystals so you can create a larger copy of how the atoms are arrange is just wow!! I do not fully understand it but I would think eight or so weeks doing it is weirdly fun.

That is really bad about your exam, especially because you were confident after doing it. What a weird thing to happen and sadly it does mean you have to do it again although it is good if you get extra time although I can understand the disappointment. Is there an alternative to actually using a pen? When I did my exams I get a choice of writing, typing or just talking, so that being dyslexic is not an issue. If it hurts you to write, then maybe they could also let you try one of those options as well? I had to use a pen for my Dutch written exam because I had to spell the words, I remember them by the pattern of hand makes them. Even so, you had a good exam and now you have more time to retake it, that does mean that you actually know all the things you need for the exam and are confident about knowing them. So it is a pain in the bottom but I would not be too worried about taking the exam next year. All the stuff you need is in your brain, he just needs to behave in January.

This is really personal so do not answer if it does not feel safe about it: I know your son is around my age and also has disabilities like me, I hope that he is doing well at school and if he is becoming an ‘official adult’ soon then I hope he is doing some more learning, or something he likes doing like painting. I was trying to think of more boy/Canadian outside things but I could only think of being a zoo keeper. With animals you do not have to talk (I like that, they just accept you) but you really need to be a very kind person. So, if he wanted to do something like that (outside the house zoo you have 😃) then that would be amazing. I hope he find something fun and he likes doing. I am just worried sometimes in general people look at people who have disabilities and define them the wrong way. For me, it is not what I cannot do that is important although yes I need help with certain things, it is the things I can do which make me, me! I am starting a new medicine very soon, kind of scary, but hopefully it will give me more control of my body. Any who, I hope that for him and if he wants to start taking X-rays of small crystals so we can build models of them, he is more than welcome to come join me in the -22 degrees here 😜 I can provide hot chocolate though!

So… what was I talking about? Umm… yeppers, about your exam it is bad but you have done all the hard work and if I find that naughty person I will set Mama on them. They will regret it for sure! Plus, it is almost Christmas so make sure you have some fun, I play like with Molly in the back garden and she loves the cold weather because she is a crazy doggy, so it being cold for her is fun. So, things like that but you have the summer weather now, so do some fun summer things. That is an order lieutenant!! (reply: Aye Captain as is the tradition). Ameclaus will be checking the list, so she will know if you followed my orders or not, trust me you do not want to be on the naughty list! As for me *hugs* be good,

Ame

After doing an oil painting for school, which was kind of stressful but also rewarding, granny thought that it would be good to do a paint by numbers. It really helped with worrying and apart from putting it on the frame which was a two person job. It really does help with worry 😀 London after the rain

Dear Christian America,

I write this with sadness, you have turned your backs on progress and today you have enslaved girls and women, you have decided that thousands across your country today do not have command over their own bodies. As Susan Anthony said:

“It was we, the people; not we, the white male citizens; nor yet we, the male citizens; but we, the whole people, who formed the Union. And we formed it, not to give the blessings of liberty, but to secure them; not to the half of ourselves and the half of our posterity, but to the whole people - women as well as men.”

She shouted it, with the same angry hope that women would be and should be truly free. That is not someone’s right to do something, rather to be free from the rules that others feel they need to impose on girls and women. Do not lie to me or yourself; the decision made today was made by the Majority Christians, white men, and not doctors or those who wish to really understand with compassion. Benjamin Franklin said that there should be a separation between religion and state, that no law, no freedom should be taken away by a religion. He was failed by a nation today. Harriot Kezia Hunt was a doctor in a time when women were expected to never take such a position, to quote her:

“It is high time that the women of Republican America should know how much the laws that govern them are like the slave laws of the South”

And it is slavery, to that, is to be sure. When you tell a group of people that their bodies do not belong to them and that they must under law follow directions of what is theirs, it is slavery. If you, under the protection of freedom decide to be religious, being that it will not cause negative repercussions above what you accept, you should be allowed to follow and practice in full or in part that religion. The very same freedom, allows everyone to also reject in part or in full, the judgements and rules that are made by the religious. It is not for a religious person to determine the rights of that others have on their bodies. Frederick Douglass a former slave, then statesman once said:

“One and God make a majority.”

To each and every Christian American who thinks a state of slavery should return in this manner, let me remind you that your country was formed from the need to be free of religious persecution. Your country has failed time and time again, but you have had the ability to change for the better. To realise the foundations & lessons of what formed your nation is to have a better world. Let me also remind you that you do not care about other people. If you cared thousands would not suffer from poverty in all its forms, everyone who required medical help would receive it, everyone who required housing would receive it, everyone who required food would be offered it. Not because it is a ‘right’ because it is ‘The right thing to do’. Christian Americans you are the same as The Taliban, you hold every girl and woman in the same regard. Wendell Phillips words mean even more today:

“We live under a government of men and morning newspapers.”

I say to the girls and women of Afghanistan that are demonstrating for their freedom to be educated now and to all those affected today by this barbaric erosion of freedom in Christian America today; Fight now and in every moment to come. Every pharisaic should be held in contempt. They allow women to die, they allow doctors to be murdered, they allow the burning of houses that dare to hold LGBTQ+ flags, they allow black people to be murdered in the street and they will allow anything to further their pathetic idealism. This sadly is not the end nor should anyone of us be free from concern. Across Europe and the rest of the world, these very basic freedoms are being infected by these same parasitic zealots, who think their opinion should be allowed outside themselves. To go back to Frederick Douglass:

“Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.”

Freedom will be won because the right course of action always wins and because of the passion of people who demand these freedoms for everyone. A Utopia is a condition which should never be reached, it has caused the deaths of millions, it has caused immense suffering but it is a goal to always be under the condition that it needs to be met and held within the freedom from itself. It is an admirable state of mind and one that is worth fighting for.

With regards,

Amalie-Anne

Unsure how to say this so... after we lost Papa which is does not feel that long ago but is about two years. We lit a candle for Papa at almost every church, Milan has a lot of them, this is the biggest one I could find and I put his candle in the middle so he could talk to other people (I did that for all the candles). I do not know why other people lit their candles to be honest, I just assumed it was for people they loved (I could be wrong). Then we went to a sunday service and did the official one but it is a service so you cannot take photos of them of course because the priests are busy and you have to look out for scary nuns! Milan is a lovely city and finally we got to celebrate my very special Papa (that is my mommy's daddy) with most of my close family after stupid covid and all that. And, I think its it is important to say I miss him but I still talk to him, so I will always have him.

Amazing city and lots of lovely people, some scary nuns but lots of gelato to balance it out. The very scary church is all the skulls and bones is San Bernardino alle Ossa, worth a visit but expect it to be quite horrible things. Also tried Aperol which was interesting (stick with the gelato)!
