Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check-in Wednesday 31st January 2018
Good morning lovelies
Sorry for that long disappearance there, I was sick and went to an ER and yikes. It's been a long 2 weeks. But that makes me think of medicine a lot too and recovery so I've decided to make my post about medicine today :)
Many of us take pills, go to therapy, and so on but I find that they aren't the only things that help us. For me personally, poetry is what kept me going. Writing and reading poetry helps me escape into another world and see other people struggle but recover from similar things I have. Stories have always been a huge healer in my recovery process. It's like opening a little bottle that's full of emotion so that it won't break open and I can take a breather through my creativity.
Another big thing for me is rest. I push myself a lot in school, work, tutoring, therapy, and so on even with a rough home. I find that nothing can help more than treating myself to hot tea, a warm bath, a good nap, and a good back. Sometimes, just resting your mind and body for a bit can go a long way in a hectic schedule that often wears you down.
How do you handle a rough day, a busy mind, or help yourself recover from things? What is your own little "medicine" or medicine helper that makes a difference in your life? Or tell me how your day has been or anything else you'd like to share! I've missed you guys! ^^ <3

i also enjoy poetry, for me tea, hardcore music, sewing and drawing are soothing medicine. I also enjoy the company of friends but that doesnt always happen so i make do.

All of those sound like really amazing things! Poetry seems like a big help to a lot of people which makes me really happy! 🌻 Drawing can also be a huge help :) I used to want to try sewing but my needle phobia pushed me away haha ^^ Maybe one day I'll try again.

My day was just awful, I don't understand it but I was just emotionally tore up I have never felt emotions so intense as they were today.
I was told to dump my face in a bowl of cold water for 30 seconds and it worked.

Hey there deary! I'm sorry you had such an awful day and that you had some really strong bad feelings. I'm glad you managed to find something that would help you however! Cold water can help a lot with inflammation and kind of ground you as well :)

Hi Honey Thanks for the check-in post. I am not well, sick with a peculiar fever. Doctors have given me medicines to take. I am staying away from heavy physical work and from electronic contraptions, for now. I hope I will get better soon as I have some committments to fulfill.
