@amiablePeace77 this year went very fast.
My dad used to tell me the older you get the faster time goes. I think part of it is having a routine and the routine just gets me on automatic mode, moving one day to the next.

@amiablePeace77 how fast and big my three little piggies have grown, this time last year they were so tiny ❤ I'm surprised I made it through the year at all with my bad health luck, I'm indestructible😂😂 I can't believe I grew another year older and I'm still not even slightly mature yet 🤷♀️ 😂😂

Honestly this whole year seemed fast because of the amount of work I had, as well as the fact that I switched to a different schooling system too, making things seem almost rushed.

The hurricane because we had never experienced anything of that magnitude before, but we were warned.

The devastation was great here and it will be a good while before our roads and yards are cleared and our Powerlines replaced but still not as bad as it was in many other areas. Many lost everything including their homes and lives. We are Blessed.

More than one surprise for me regarding the last year.
1. My stepdad who was very close with me suddenly ignoring me to the point where he never said one word to me, acknowledged me, or even looked at me even when I was right there. Talk about being disrespectful. He did it the first 6-7 months, then we got back to normal, then somewhere towards the end of last year he suddenly started again. No reasons given yet he expects me to solve the problems without knowing what they are. Makes no sense at all.
2. How fast it went. Literally felt to me like it began one day, ended the next day.

1. My stepdad and his actions surprised me bc of how sudden they were, but also bc of how he expects/wants me to fix it all despite him not telling me what caused him to disrespect me, he’s so double standard (expects/wants things from me that he refuses to do like he wants me to respect him when he’s disrespecting me), the biggest surprise being he’s so focused on me when he should be prioritizing himself considering his high blood pressure and possibly having cancer
2. How fast last year went surprised me simply bc of how fast it went and ended!

No I don’t believe so. I think if his mental health or his aging had anything to do with this, it’d have started a long time ago and it would be happening to everyone, not just me. It’s only happening to me bc he’s angry at me. This is how he is when he’s angry.
When I’m anywhere near him I just don’t pay attention to his childish actions. But for the most part I do my best to distance myself from him. This isn’t the version of him that I met, know, am familiar or close with. So I have no problem distancing myself from this version of him. I also don’t believe he cares since all he does is ignore me anyway. This is what keeps me calm when it comes to him.

What surprised me is how fast this year did go. And I know how fast 2025 will go too. It makes me feel scared. It feels like a lot of things happened to me, but at the same time, this pain feels buried within my soul. I do not mean to get too deep, but 2024 was the start of my high school year. It is not too bad, but a lot of things move quickly and usually... I find it hard to keep up. It is okay though. I am trying to slow down with myself this year. Mainly, I've never been too kind to myself throughout all my life. It's been working slowly each year and I've accepted myself more and more. I just hope I can keep it up.

I'm surprised I survived. It was the first year on my own in a new state. It wasn't easy but I've grown a lot and don't regret leaving a toxic situation with mom to prioritize myself.

@amiablePeace77 i would be honoured to share 😊 I was bullied viciously both physically and emotionally and asleep a result, a constant loop was playing in my head, with all the insults, i was framing who i was based on their view of me, as a result, i didn't let people in, i avoided relationships, all opportunities surpassed me because i saw myself wrongly through the eyes of the bullies. It was painful, it was confronting and it was tiring, but I knew I needed more and deserved more and began to work on myself until i got to a place where I knew i could and deserved to embrace people and opportunities 😊
@Amanda84 I have experienced bullying and it occured tome that they are not happy, in fact they are miserable - I do not condone with their actions but I do start to have compassion how much they are suffering now and in the future.
