Remembering Tazzie
It is with a sad heart that I share with you all that Tazzie has passed. Tazzie was an active listener that joined us in September 2016. In this role, she helped over 272 members. She also served as a leader on our platform and most recently as an admin focusing on our sub-communities. We don’t track how many listeners other listeners help. It is safe to say that Tazzie has helped thousands of us.
You can see Tazzie’s spirit in her first post on 7 cups.
Hello! I am a trained active listener. I am doing a Masters in Counseling right now and I am enjoying school. I am here right now because I would just like to share a few positive words with everyone. Hope this adds to your happiness or makes you feel better :)
I draw from my inner strength and light.
I trust myself.
I have as much brightness to offer the world as the next person.
Best wishes,
Empatheticlistener88.
Tazzie shared music with me, encouraging messages, a stalwart hope, and a firm belief that we could redeem things and work hard to make things better. I read her listener reviews which you can find here. I see these same themes in the people she helped. This one stands out to me:
“Tazzie is the most incredible listener I've ever met. She is not only an amazing ambassador, but so incredibly kind, sweet, and gentle with me. I talked to her while having a breakdown, and she calmed me down fast. She encouraged me, and really made me feel loved and honoured with all her words of kindness and appreciation for me. I couldn't have asked for a better listener. She is incredibly strong at this and the world needs way more people like Tazzie. I believe in you.”
She was also great at capturing visuals. I’m not great at this. She sent me the below gif. This is the only gif I’ve ever downloaded onto my phone. I love it. You can sense the hope in it. Much more you can see her spirit in all of our birthday videos. Taz was a curator of the best of what makes 7 Cups 7 Cups. She could see strengths, light and hope in all of us in a rare and beautiful way.
I was surprised to hear of Tazzie’s passing. She had a terminal illness and did not share many details with me. I am not at all surprised to hear about how she has impacted many of you. I felt her belief in me and witnessed her belief in others. We will miss you Taz. Thank you for reminding us of the power of hope and light.
We have reached out to the family and we are awaiting details on how best we can provide support and make contributions. I will update this thread as soon as we hear more. Thank you and please share any thoughts below that you would like us to share with her family.
Please help us remember her by sharing 1 or more of the 3 topics below.

Your fondest memory of Tazzie?
Thoughts and wishes
Heather:
It is with deepest sorrow that we heard the passing of our beloved friend, Tazzie.
Tazzie, our Subcommunity Admin, was living with a terminal condition, and despite that, she managed to accomplish incredible feats. 7 Cups was her passion, and she put her heart and soul into serving for our community in a way that you can see ripple across the site. She has touched countless lives here in her time on Cups. I am honored to have worked closely with her and to see her level of care in action every day. I have always stood in awe of Tazzie’s strength, grit, and ambition.
Tazzie is most known here for her dedication to the subcommunities. She’s also the creative behind our birthday videos over the last few years.
Our subcommunities wouldn’t be even half of what they are now without all the love and work Tazzie poured into making them so great. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered, and Tazzie will forever be a part of our community family.
Obs:
This is an unfortunate and huge loss for all of us. It was shocking and unexpected to hear it. She made a huge impact through her efforts, dedication and commitment in the community. Her biggest contribution was that she went above and beyond to improve the subcommunities and made it a better place for all to seek support and compassion.
Once Tazzie and I were discussing a few things and I told her that she is the Subcommunity Queen and how much we appreciate her. And, she responded that she is Just Tazzie. And in our following conversations we used to greet each other as, “Hello JustTazzie/ JustT” and she used to reply, “Hey O”. She was an amazing friend and colleague.
But, even though she used to say she was just Tazzie, we all know that she is “The Tazzie”. She is irreplaceable and there are not enough words to express the gratitude for her presence and being with us all these years as a friend and a leader. She is part of the 7Cups Family and she will always be!
May she rest in peace. I miss her...
Hope:
Taz’s demise has been a huge loss for the community team, the leaders she worked with and the community as a whole. I have had the honor of knowing Taz since the beginning of her journey. She has been a committed listener, mentor and then leader in many domains of which her work with sub-communities is the most known. She is one of the most genuine and hardworking people that I have ever met. Despite her illness, she fought on bravely and held onto hope.
I got to work closely with her when she was a sub-community ambassador and her passion and enthusiasm for sub-communities was exceptional. She dedicated a lot of her time to providing care and support to our community. I have shared many fond memories with her, from the time when we used to provide peer support in the Listener Support Room to working on sub-communities together. She believed in the work she did and I am glad she was able to do the work she loved as an admin these past few months. It is unreal having to write this message but I hope that as we remember her, we can think of all the good memories that will stay with us even if she isn’t here anymore. Rest in peace Taz, You will be missed.

Thank you for informing us all about this, Glen. I didn't know Tazzie very well, but this news still hits hard, like a punch to the gut. I often saw her in the forums, posting reassuring check-ins and bubbly icebreakers. I wasn't aware that she had been fighting an illness this entire time; all I knew was that she brought warmth, energy and light to 7cups wherever she went on it. May she rest in peace, and my deepest condolences and offerings of comfort to her family, friends and loved ones. 💔
that is such sad news and such a loss for 7cups and for everyone that knew taz .... she helped me many years ago both on my member and listener accounts and was a great support and help in so many ways and taught me much which i still appreciate
I'm really saddened about her passing.
Tazzie has been an inspirational leader, a remarkably strong person, very humble kind and grounded.
They say we all should grow as a person and with our abilities. What I admired most about Tazzie, with her growing she never looked down on you and never made you feel small.
Thank you Tazzie, you shaped my mind and earned a special place in my heart.
My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Oh my gosh.. Tazzie. I can’t express how deep my condolences are for the family. Tazzie was the first leader I interacted with on 7Cups. She motivated me to achieve more and do more on 7Cups. She was so engaging, and she helped me to participate in the planing of my first event! When I was at my darkest on 7Cups dealing with harassment, she was there to help me through it. I will never forget her, nor what her contribution to the community has inspired in me. Rest In Peace Tazzie. 💜

I don't know Tazzie, but I now I know she was a big part of 7 Cups community and a beautiful person. My condolences to family and friends.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Tazzie. I knew her as both listener and member. She was very active on here and touched countless lives. She will be missed dearly. <3
Also for anyone who wants to see the gif in action (I don't think the link Glen posted is a gif it's just an image for me?) I found this one here: https://c.tenor.com/psPCjEAgGlwAAAAd/breakfast-tea.gif.

@GlenM
Rest in peace Tazzy. I didnt have the honor of knowing her but she seems like an amazing soul and an incredible, strong person. Her soul seems so beautiful
@GlenM
I didn’t often spend time working with Tazzie although I remember her beautiful birthday videos that she put together for 7 Cups and her love, kindness, passion and brightness shined through. It’s clear to see how she had a huge impact on others and took the time to ask people how they were feeling.
I am sending my thoughts to her family and each and everyone of you processing your loss today. ❤️
Rest in Peace, Tazzie. You will be missed.
