3 Key Things!
Please post here 3 key things you have done to help move 7 Cups forward. I will be doing this on a daily basis. Feel free to do it daily, weekly, or monthly. Right now we've got thousands of people doing a lot of work on the site, but we don't have a clear way of being able to support one another. The goal of this thread is to help all of us see all the good work that is going on. Please ask any questions or share thoughts!
1) Wrote a post in 35+'s Nerd Zone
2) checked in with a member who asked me to do a check in with them yesterday.
3) going to see about doing a 1 on 1 or two this afternoon.
@DaveMcGrath
Love that you are checking in with members!
@Hope
thanks hope.
1.) Went to church this morning
2.) told the minister that I wouldn't be able to open the church during the week because I need a job to be able to move out
3.) mentioned there is no charitable ministries co-ordinator from our church to where I volunteer. Offered to be a liason between the church and the non-profit
4.) Looked up the ticket to work site and tried to think about whether I want to enroll or not.. the site said it was down for maintenance until 6pm EDT today, so I planned to go back to it later but didn't.
5.) Talked to a friend through Messenger and got chewed out for my financial situation. But she did give me some ideas.
6.) Talked to a Listener on 7cups who cheered me up immensely
7.) Did the dishes and ticked off my sister because I didn't have room for all the dishes out of the dishwasher to go into the cabinet and stacked them on the counter. Finished the dishes.
8.) Watched "home alone" the Korean variety show with my sister.
9.) Phoned my parents and wrote an email to them with the details because they were having trouble remembering all the minutia involved in whether I enroll in Ticket to Work or not
@berryfields2409 Nice job.
@berryfields2409 well done. I didn't get angry or abusive all day including at work a very stressful job. And spoke to three listeners.
@berryfields2409 That is pretty good Field. I am glad you felt better after connecting with a listener. Thank you for sharing it.
@GlenM
1. Contacted a mentor
2. Talked to a fellow listener after a rough chat
3. Taking all the personal conversation requests
@wonderousMoon5570 That is nice work, Moon. I appreciate your efforts to improve and grow. You can also take three steps in the progress path every day. Thank you for sharing it with us
@ASilentObserver

1.) Completed a few training courses.
2.) Request for mentor done
3.) Now upto 26 hours chat so just having to work on positive reviews to get to level 2.
4.) More importantly had 2 very good chats. Both with different anxiety, whilst turning these around theyre outlook sounded positive.
5.) Will look to check in next week.
@naturalForever514 nice work Forever. Well done!
@naturalForever514 ty :)
@GlenM
I feel too shy to list my own 3 good things Ive done here at 7C. Instead, Id like to flip the table around!
3 great things I saw happen on 7C today, that promote the greater good and well-being of our community:
(1) There is never a time I talk to @Tazzie that she isnt doing something that betters our 7C SubCommunities.
And today was no different ♡
(2) @GodOnlyKnows51 is always in the LSR helping answer questions! They are so supportive, and I witnessed that again today. They even offered to take over a chat from a listener who expressed having difficult with an ongoing chat ♡
(3) Every mod that I saw in the group chats was sooo kind, and offered great insight to those seeking clarity. I wish we still had a ‘follow list, so I could recall each username verbatim so I could tag them too T^T but the admiration is still there!
♡
@zaatarHoney
This is a really lovely idea. Think it might count as 1 of your 3 things too.
@zaatarHoney Thank you for sharing it Z. It is not about listing our accomplishments but sharing what work we did today to contribute to building our community. It is like reporting our community that we took steps to take care of them. I hope that makes sense. We appreciate your efforts.
@ASilentObserver
I totally understand the prompt! Im just not used to self-reporting, maybe so publically? Lmbo meep!
But I constantly see people who are productively working toward making 7C a safe and thriving space. ♡
1) I have become a verified listener
2) I have tried to ensure members I talk to feel free to reach out in the future and be repeat users.
It is likely draining and frustrating for members to have to explain their circumstances and provide the context of what they wish to talk about repeatedly. Having a listener who already knows the back story and has already established a connection seems to really help some of the members I talk to. I have now had 22 repeat users so far and feel they have benefited from being able to 'drop-in' without the task of starting from the beginning.
3) This post
While I have been a listener for a number of years I have focused pretty much entirely on the listening. While I think that is 'right' and I will continue to focus on mostly using my time to listen, I do wish to be more involved in the community of the site and share with/ learn from others. I am treating this post as my first conscious effort to be more involved in the community.
I think this site is a wonderful idea and well done to all the people here making their time available to provide such great support to people who need it.
@scottluhrmann great work Scott. Congratulations on becoming Verified Listener.
Yesterday
1) took a member chat
2) self care cause travelling
3) talked too teens for little in members rooms
@Karrot nice. Have a good self care KC. Keep up the good work
1. Walked in faith over my feelings today (something I am working on).
2. had a fantastic progress report meeting for my Autistic son. Hard work seems to be paying off a bit :)
3. I have been acknowledging my feelings, apologizing where needed, and taking the initiative not to "hold things in."
@enthusiasticNectarine1976
Great news, especially regarding your sons progress.
- Trained new forum mentors. Scheduled trainings for other 2.
- Graded CS applications and applied badges.
