These are all very powerful. I love how the idea of a slogan or mantra makes you distill things down to the core or essence. You all have really captured us here. I like looking at all of the themes too, like how are these naturally grouping or hanging together? Very, very powerful. Thank you all for sharing and helping us. Yes, they are. It was in the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance that maxims became popular among the aristocrats, I've learned, and from there to regiments and the military.

A while back in my Anglican parish, we gathered to brainstorm about a motto for our church. It was more or less "suggested" by the Diocese. I had to participate but I was musing if we were not just following a fad.... after all those business slogans too. Someone replied: "Just do it!"
