Feature Update: Quote reply in chats
All, this is an update we're really excited about. In 1-1 chats and group chats, you can now do a quote reply! This is where you can select a specific message to reply to, and then your reply includes a short visual of the message you replied to. Thats probably not the simplest description... so instead, I encourage you to try it out for yourself.
This update is only on the website for now, but we will be bringing it to the mobile app soon.
Using quote reply makes it easier for supportive conversations to flow - as all participants can better understand when a message is referring or replying to something or someone specific. Its a feature widely used on many messaging platforms.
To give it a try, click the backwards arrow underneath a message.
We hope you find this a helpful update.

@Jon7Cups Thank you so much for this. I love this update and i think it will make it easier for us to know which message is being referred to while talking hehe.

Hi Jon! 😊 ❤️ Many thanks for the update as well as for the addition of the option! I seem to have gotten the "memo" a bit too late, lol 😊.
I was in a pm with a member 2 days ago and they asked what this curvy arrow was? I had no idea what they spoke of. I wasn't able to see what it is that they were seeing from my screen. I didn't have one as of yet.
Eureka!💡 Team work makes the dream work as yesterday morning I entered a room and was like....aha! I see what it is now that they spoke of. I could now see what it is that they saw from my own vantage point. From their question, they helped me also to be on the look out and to kind of brace myself for changes around here.
I guess change is difficult for some and others embrace it quickly. The room I entered ended up being an absolute *slug fest* with others arguing about the merits of the new option on one side and those that felt anger in regard to having it on their screen on the other. *ding ding* 🔔 *come out with your hands up* 🤨 The rest made popcorn and waited it out. 😊
I chose not to use it until much later after the room calmed down, less people in the room and then play with it to see if I could grasp it while replying to others using the function that are helpful and friendly teammates in the event I did something wrong. If I had, they would have simply helped me! ❤️
Learn, help, learn, help...wash, rinse and repeat! Weeeeeeeeeeee weeeeeeeeee! 😊 I then went back to the member that I spoke to the day prior that had questioned it. After we spoke about what was on their mind I mentioned that I now can see what it is that they see on their screen (the arrow), mentioned that I had used it a couple of times in a room, then clicked on the arrow to show them what it does 😊. woo hooooo! Fancy, fancy!
We had a great time together! It was experiential learning at it's finest. We both got to adjust, feel more comfortable with the practice effect in a slower paced/safe environment (via pm) and we got them "road ready" lol 😊 now for entering the faster pace of rooms. *beep beep* 🚗 After practicing, they absolutely love it and see the value in it.
The option is always there to not use it one does not feel comfortable doing so.
Again, many thanks Jon!
*high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️
@Jon7Cups Love it!
@Jon7Cups
I can not express how much I dislike this "feature".
Most of the time the chat moves fast and it's hard to keep up.
The replies clog up the user interface in the chat making a difficult situation even harder to read.
And in typical least common denominator human behavior... people aren't using reply to talk to each other. You gave them the tool to attack each other with greater efficiency.
