hi goose, welcome to 7cups and glad to have u with us. Best wishes
I'm Danielle and I've been struggling with depression and anxiety due to being isolated and having to work from home now instead of being in an office. I hate being home alone all day and needed those daily work interactions to keep me fulfilled since I don't have any friends because I have bad social anxiety.
@LadyBird88
Hi lady, welcome to 7cups. Surely this remote working can make some feel lonely and isolated, I hope things get back to normalcy soon . Best wishes
Hello Everyone!
I'm Teal and I just found 7 Cups.
I suffer from PTSD and have recently begun to identify abuse in my past.
I'm hoping for support in processing these realizations and speaking about those memories I have come to view differently. I'm currently on medication and in group therapy, I consider myself stable and hope to delve deeper into healing.
Love to you all,
Teal
@TealTempest27
welcome Teal, glad to know u are in best hands and are recovering fast . Best wishes
Hello, my name is Justin. This is the first time I have ever reached out to someone other than myself. Oddly scary posting on a public thread. I am not sure if one-on-one in person talking would be easier or harder. But, anyways, I am a father and dad of two kids of my own and a dad to two kids of my new wife's. I think I said that correctly. My children are 9 and 12, hers are 7 and 11. But lately, the last year or two, my oldest, has had issues in school and has brought them home. Behavioral and psychological. He sees a counselor but never really talks about anything insightful to her like he does to me or my wife. He doesn't even tell his mother some of the issues he has. I reach out now, because he has been pressing every button of mine that he can and knows exactly how to press them. I need help figuring out how to keep my reactions in check while still being focused on helping him. He is in middle school and if he doesn't figure out how to manage his behavior and thoughts, he won't succeed in high school. Wow, I didn't mean to even type all that. I hope it's not too much, or even what this thread is for. Sorry in advance!
@ClemsonJK9 I feel you, this is my first time posting to something like this also. It's kind of weird but I think it's already helping and I've only been on a few days. Sometimes it's just helpful to express ourselves to complete strangers. I have a 13 year old boy, in 8th grade. He's also been struggling with emotions and has just finished counseling. Once your 13 here, you're legally in charge of your own medical care. One thing that helped my son was me helping him write ideas down to talk with his Councelor about, because it would be hard for him to bring it up by himself. Maybe this would work for you and your son? This is just such a hard age too, but it sounds like you're doing your best by showing him your here for him and want to help. Hang in there! I'm here if you want to talk.
@ClemsonJK9 hey justin :) this is my first post too ahhh. so i just wanted to respond with maybe some insight from another teen. idk the exact situation ur son is going through or exactly what he's feeling but speaking from a teenager's POV, he may just feel untrustworthy of his stepmom/mother in his life or feel unable to open because of some personal reasons. i think the best thing to do is keep showing him u guys love him and are always there for him, and definitely be patient because teenagers can have a hard time expressing their emotions, speaking from experience LOL. hope this helped and if i offended u in any way, that's definitely not my intention. ty for sharing justin!
@ClemsonJK9
