Distractions For Fighting Relapse? (TW?)
it's been about a month if not more since i last relapsed. i've had a lot of urges lately, and i really want to give in, but i know i'm going to go overboard again like last time. last time gave a sepsis scare. i don't think i can go through that again... i really don't want to relapse but i don't know how to distract myself it's getting really hard to ignore the urges...
@f1nd3rzk33p3rz I think it is a bold move to write here while you are feeling this way - did you ever try talking about it to someone when you feel the urge? Two weeks when I felt I was being overcome with urges I contacted the crisis chat in my country with a trained professional who can handle crisis situations.
I think sharing the urge with someone may be a way not only of distracting yourself but also prove helpful as it may also provide a sense of relief and of being heard.

@anonyLemon4233 yeah i've talked to some professionals about it, and it's less like. i know it's something i won't do, but the urge is just annoying and just disheartening right now

@f1nd3rzk33p3rz I can imagine... Did none of the professionals you spoke to suggest ways of diverting the urges so you are not in their grip?
I would ask for some advice from the person who has been following you most closely.
If you feel you need to vent or write about something which may have happened to upset you further I'm listening (though I may sleep soon as its very late here so apologies if I don't reply Immediately) . Or you can also try a 1to1 chat with volunteer listeners. You can also browse listeners to find someone who has personal experience with similar issue.
In the meantime could you think of any activity that could be soothing for you? There is a part of you which surely wants some healing
@anonyLemon4233 a lot of the things they suggest just don't help sometimes. i'm listening to music and writing about how i feel right now. i also am talking to a listener. thank you so much <3
