Writing Prompt 4# Let's continue!
by BlaiseAce
Last post
February 5th
...See more I'm back, Let's try to continue! My goal is to get to 30 days (^-^) Thanks to everyone who is participating!! Prompt 4# START writing with the phrase: 'Ten minutes later he was flipping through the pages of the old album' END the story with this sentence: 'The hall was lit by a single lamp, next to which sat the white witch.' My short story Ten minutes later he was flipping through the pages of the old album wondering where on earth it had come from, he had never seen it before and now, here it was, on the table sitting as if it had never been touched.  I huffed in exasperation, looking around the room, trying to find something out of place perhaps, but everything seemed perfectly in its place.  "Gordaline did you happen to put this album here?"  He exclaimed to the silent room, not hearing an answer, he remembered right then that it was her day off and that's why there was no trace of her.  He was in his study at the time, when he hears a noise coming from the living area, jumped on the spot, thinking to himyself, 'damn, thieves broke in'. He took a breath to calm down, 'ok let's not jump to conclusions', he silently started to get up and approached the room. When he was about to think that he had imagined everything and that in truth there had been no noise, he took courage and raised his head , looked inside the room and The hall was lit by a single lamp, next to which sat the white witch.

Writing prompt 1#

...See more For Practicing writing I want to practice writing as much as possible, So I decided that I will start writing with prompts more often to warm up! Promopt 1#: Using two random sentences from two different books Write a short part of a story, Starting with the sentence 'I have no idea if I have that kind of power over her' and ending with 'I followed. It was disorientating'. My short story I have no idea if I have that kind of power over her. It's always been like this. I remember that time we went to the forest, to our hideout, and suddenly it started raining, heavy raining, thunder and lightning felling from the sky. I had been forced to try to keep up with her while she was so fast ,she looked like a gazelle, the sky had darkened and I could barely make out her figure. Suddenly she stops, turns to me and signals me with her hand to follow her, then she disappears swallowed up by the darkness. I followed. It was disorientating. If you want you can do it too! I'm posting it here more than anything for motivation and accountability.

Letter to Self
by VioletNotes
Last post
July 22nd, 2024
...See more Hello! (I'm Violet) TCR can have some silly conversations… and as we were discussing whether or not love letters are still “a thing,” @CommunityModAnne told us that we should all write a letter to ourselves! I think that can be a great way to slow down and get out whatever feelings you have towards yourself.  Here are some things you could maybe write about: * What can I forgive myself for? * What do I like about myself? * What encouragement can I offer myself? What do I need to keep working on? * Where do I see myself in 5, 10, 20 years? And how can I get there? * Whatever else you can think of! Feel free to keep your letter private, save it for your future self to read, or share it here! I’ll share mine soon to get the thread going. Update me on your progress! What are you writing about, if you don’t want to share the entire letter? How did it feel to write it all out? ------------------------- And so, in honor of Anne, you could start it like she suggested!  “Dear Self, Mod Anne the tea cup on 7 cups told me to write to you…” Tagging people in the room for the discussion: @reliablebunny23 @versatileWhisper1571 @KiminoSuizouwoTabetai @Anycat123 @dinosaurBlitz @CommunityModAnne @Apeatrice @Heartsandrosesandpaws And some other people too: @DingoOliver @PastaIsVeryUnderrated @MickMoss @Noor511 @DarkerPlaces @theboymoana

...See more Hi everyone :) As a writer, I would like to know : what are the elements / storylines you guys think should be incorporated more in stories ? What clichés should be watered down and what makes a good plot / an interesting character according to you guys ? I mostly write love stories in the YA/New Adult genre, so I was hoping you could help me improve myself : ) Thank you.
