What would happen without animals? π
*puts everyone into a trance*
It's 2070. There are flying cars, iPhones are brick-sized and the terminators probably rule the world.
It is midnight, and I would say I can hear crickets but nope, there are no animals.
Yeah you heard that right. *lets nightmare unfold* No ants. No elephants. No frogs. No deer. None.
So I ask, What would happen without animals? What would the world be like? What's the worst thing? What's the largest change? It's Wildlife Conservation Day~ let's talk.

Make that a few
I can think up a bunch of questions about how animals (broadly used to include insects, amphibians, reptiles, etc) help us in our day to day living without us knowing?
I'm a big one for conservation and have a pretty extensive garden in the fruit and vegetable side of things. I know when people talk of animals they talk of cats, dogs, and pandas but my favourite animal is a small herbivorous animal called a bee.
A world without bees would be a terrible thing. Approximately 1/3rd of all food production requires bees for pollination. That says to me that they're special little creatures.
I just wish that people would stop using pesticides in their gardens and to work with nature to find solutions for garden pests (e.g. provide habitat for predatory insects and your pest problem sorts itself out). While it's not the cause of colony collapse worldwide, it certainly doesn't help our bee populations.
Anyway.. there's my little rant lol
A lot. Some people rely on animals like dogs to help them with loneliness and depression. Blind people use guide dogs to see. People like me who want to become vets would be left with absolutely no back up plan. When entire ecosystems collapse without animals the World won't have a farming or fishing industry. No rainforests will exist anymore- without animals our vegetation goes for a toss. That's right, without animals the world would crumble. Tons of industries shutting down, people being affected, ecosystems and food webs being destroyed. Our food sources would be cut off and soon enough one of the most well known animals on the planet, the Homo Sapiens , would go extinct too.
We're hitting a dangerous line between sustaining ourselves as a planet and sustainability. Already we're working our seafood and farming resources to the Max. Over farming, over fishing, deforestation. We're already putting wildlife at risk without talking about what's gonna happen when all the wildlife goes poof!
