Infinity Minus One
The most terrifying number,
Infinity minus one.
Something's missing and you know it,
There's a fatal flaw somewhere,
And it's obvious that it's your fault,
Something keeps getting inside,
Like a foreign body that won't work itself out,
You'll never know until the end of the road,
You just know that you can't calculate,
Infinity minus one,
Nothing can prepare you for what it means,
To be endlessly imperfect,
To be wrong on an infinite level,
Just a single selfishness where you tried,
To consider yourself above flawlessness.
What you were willing to sacrifice,
Is the loneliest thing,
But, unfortunately for you,
There was never meant to be only one.
You'll find out at the end of the road,
The end that you yourself placed,
So far away that you thought you'd never imagine it,
But it's all you can think about,
The entire vastness getting there,
Even though it's the one thing you can't ever truly understand.
