A Poem for all my fellow Burnt Out Gifted Kids

fireflyyv June 22nd

Wanderlost

Scintillating eyes lost to the words' decay

Once wandering through night and day

Of untold stories and unspoken rhymes

A lamp illuminating pages in the dimmest of times

All for the words to shoot you down in spite

You're the gift adulated by all, right?

Yet those pristine eyes tell otherwise

They're blank and dead like your lies

Promised honor, yet you fail to be gifted

For all your potential went gone and wasted

...

"You've done enough, exile me if you must

For my soul will one day reclaim its wanderlust"
