MOONLIT MEMOIRS

- byTanuj Rohatgi

Sometimes when the sun goes down ,
And the moonlight starts to beam..
Frails of white , they enter my room..
Dancing with the darkness , they form a silhouette...
The shadows they form , it gives me solitude...
A moment of silence , a moment of peace ,
A few moments reminisced.....
Your eyes , how safe they felt....
And your lips , seems like a thousand angels with bated breath....
All I could ever do was to stare hapless...
So much was left to be said...
My eyes screamed what my lips feared to say....
A story unfinished is what you left....
And a few moments to reminisce , that is all I am left....

I walk down a straight trail, A moonlit path with no twists or turns, And I find myself lost, with a soul that yearns, For someone to hear my silent song. A soundless symphony played by my heart. Which is now, Long Gone. *I know its terrible I'm sorry 😬

Untitled (Topic involved: Depression)
Remember,

when time was simple,
the sun floated into the morning
and lasted an infinite trail across the sky?

Days grew shorter,
Leaves turned orange,
outlines of muddy shoes marked the trees,
those were our trees.

Forever forward the night,
winters came with rain
but sometimes there was snow
and we lay there together freezing cold.

Hands by the fire,
there we rested-
the smell of warm cider in the air-
on the thought that spring was almost here.

Never did it disappoint,
flowers brushed from trees performing in the air,
for hours we could sit admiring the colors,
the warmth of the sun tickling our soft skin.

Remember the time
where the worst thing that could happen in a day
was getting sand in our shoes?

Oh the promises we made when summer came,
never to leave, to grow as tall as trees
weaving away hope into our future,
as fragile as glass.

Vowing to be strong,
even when things became difficult.

so tell me,

were we strong,
to hide instead of going to school,
to live in constant fear
we might be scarred beyond repair?

There we held each other
after losing our composure,
bleeding away lost tears,
praying for something to end us.

Nobody came,
what was there for you and I to do
but grasp onto fleeting dream
formulated so long ago?

You once reminded me
of the broken-winged dove,
frantically searching for a breeze
where there existed none.

Time will kill us
but the media devours us,
that's how we lose in life,
that's where we really die.

I saw you fall for the last time,
I watched them dispose you to the earth,
forgotten.

Don?t you remember my dear,
when we promised never to forget?

Your cage door has opened
you can fly now,
because only nothing is truly weightless.

Walking along a road I thought was straight
I closed my eyes and put one foot in front of the other
I kept waking for days and months and years
And when I opened my eyes I found myself lost
There was no sun warming my skin
No footsteps trailing in the sand next to mine
I stumbled along the dark path and kept walking blindly
Eventually I was forced off the path
I was scared at first but then found a narrow twisting lane
Where mellow sunlight filtered through the branches of trees
On that narrow path I heard the chirpy laughter of birds answering my hello
Along the way came a frolicking puppy to keep me company
The years I walked seemed but like a few moments
Such was the joy in the beauty around me when I chose to open my eyes to existence of a different path
I don't know the destination to which this twisting path leads
I care not where it will take me
As long as there's the comfort of companionship and beauty around me to soothe my sight
I'll enjoy the here and now of this journey...

Hello. I noticed that you have a reeaaallly long thread here and lol, I actually reactivated my account for this! Hahaha. I do have a proposal to make, actually. Would you want to me to make you a separate Forum Category? I want each and every literary piece to be recognized individually, actually. That's pretty much the idea behind the Literary Club.

What I thought of is making a new Category and I'll post each of the poems posted here tothere manually. What do you think? :)

Um sure as long as everyone else here is ok with it and you post the instructions and stuff, if I knew how to do it myself I would have in the first placecheeky

I wanted to talk about this, but I haven't been super active here so I had messaged Olivia about it yesterday. I feel bad; I should have noticed this earlier.

Also, the poems are supposed to be related to our struggles, things we go through in life, or related to the site, right? But a lot of the poems posted here don't have that theme.

Hello, Grace.I believe I would have to change that rule because it sort of makes more sense to let people send whatever they want to for the sake of literary freedom, I suppose. Though I really want the 7 Cups of Tea relatedtheme, to be honest. But well, I would feel extremely bad if I have to take down whatever people wrote. So, might as well bend the rule. Lol.

Follow

river reflections
reveal wrinkles
that show how aged
you have truly become

follow the ripples
and let them show you
the way towards
youthful exuberance

I like this b/c I take it as, yes you may be getting old, but the way you live your life; negative or positive; can make you look older than you really are. Enjoy life?

WARNING: TOPIC IS ABOUT SELF-HARM
by: Andrea50(member)

There are those marks on my skin. The ones that that never leave. The ones all on my arm. The ones still healing on my leg. The quick decision of a swipe very painful. Past still haunts me for some reason. Every time I look at the marks I look at the shiny steel. Such an appeal. Oh my god it's real. When's it gonna heal? Is this actually surreal? Why am I saying it's unreal? Broken heart, broken skin. Coping in , dwelling in. The pain of a scar. The pain of a swipe. Pain pain pain. Stress stress stress. Swipe swipe swipe. Tears tears tears. Down my face....

@Andrea50 - I loved this poem so much! Gotmore? :D

Oh yay, poetry club ^.^

Tanuj January 31st, 2015

So this is one of my favorite poems , its written by a contemporary poet Lang Leav and i wanted to share it with all of you guys here at our poetry club because i know you guys will be able to appreciate it's beauty.

THE ROSE --

by lang leav

Have you ever loved a rose ,

and watch her slowly bloom ;

and as her petals would unfold,

you grew drunk on her perfume...

Have you ever seen her dance ,

her leaves all wet with dew,

and quivered with a new romance ,

the wind , he loved her too ,

Have you ever longed for her ,

on nights that go on and on ,

for now , her face is all a blur ,

like a memory kept too long ,

Have you ever loved a rose ,

and bled against her thorns,

and swear each night to let her go ,

then love her more by the dawn......

Going Forward Onwards we go , Up the hill Down the road Far in distance In the progress Not always rapid. But always going. Through the barriers Hope the leader. Weather stormy, Sunny or bitter. In harmony. In anger. In despondency, Or panic. Let Optimism pinch the worry. Keep the fight going . Scared mentality , Broken hearts Problem solving Helplessness... Drive through horror, Learn a lesson. One regret that's impossible to forget. See that light See that goal Ride on hot coal , If it burns carry on With Motivation the reason. As - Life doesn't consist of wishes. Everyday little less to live. Live lively. Little quantity... So master it's quality. -Rozalia P.
