Hello everyone.... As we all come from different regions and have different national languages. I want to know if it's ok for you to read me write in my language?
I write myself, for a long time now .. but I write in Urdu...
Poetry in Urdu is special because it contains words that describe emotions deeply....
I'll be writing some famous poems/ghazals from other poets too...
Let me know about your views about poetry in Urdu...

Hi, so for moderation purposes, all posts on the forums have to be in English. However according to the guidelines as long as you provide the English translation right under poem in your language, it should be okay to post. :)
I'm not a mod or leader of the community, so I can't say anything authoritative. But I for one wouldn't mind at all. If you have verses in Urdu, I'd like to read them. I think quite a few of us would, actually. Let's see 'em!
How does Urdu differ from Arabic, besides coming from another part of the world? I'm a Westerner with limited exposure to Semitic languages, so it's an honest (if perhaps ignorant-sounding) question.
Hello, first thank you for actually replying and I can understand what are you trying to ask and I don't mind you question this.
Urdu is written a little bit same as Arabic (if I write it same as we understand, which I won't). I'll be writing in "Roman Urdu", we call it roman when we write Urdu with English alphabet like... >Kia haal hai? < While it's not original Urdu font....
Urdu was used first when people had trouble communicating because there were people who speak Persian, Arabic, Afghan (Pashto) and Indian (Sanskirt) languages... This language is mix of all... But for poetry point of view.. it is a very developed language....
