Hello, thanks! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving as well. Thank you in advance for all of the help you're going to give people. 😁

That's very true that sometimes difficult people/experiences can trigger changes or insights that end up being helpful. Sort of like you become a more complete or well-rounded person.

@stormieandpaws

Hi, hope you had a good time at the club yesterday. 😊

That's definitely a good one. The idea that sometimes bad situations create new opportunities. Or just making the best possible use of all of the resources you have. (Sort of connects to "gratitude", recognizing when there are positive/helpful things available and getting as much value as you can out of that.)

Yes look for the things that blessings, even within the, chaos. See the, light even in the, darkness was told if one in darkness light a candle as then there light within the darkness. Have had people say  how can you be so positive with all the  health issues you have and the limitations. Have told many it looking within the suffering and finding the good even Within it. Yes we have times we down but even then can see the, blessings within what's going on. Be blessed

What have you been exploring this week?

This week I've been exploring getting back into a more stable routine. The holidays caused me to go off track with things like sleep and journalling which I need to get back into because it's a lot easier for me to use my coping skills if other things are relatively consistent. It makes it easier to cope with random stress that is unexpected if I have safe things to look forward to still. The last DBT group I had we discussed emotional regulation before Thanksgiving which was really important to me. I had a hard time sometimes yesterday because I kept remembering my family and my mom I went no contact with. But even just me and my boyfriend felt like we had the best Thanksgiving we had in years. It was really nice and I'm feeling more inspired in general.

What is a piece of wisdom that you've personally found helpful? (Can be related to mental health, or not!)

I'm beginning to actually accept that I can't take revenge on my ex or hold resentment to him for the rest of my life. It makes me feel powerless and helpless but I really, really want to put my energy into the relationship I have now which has been healthy and safe.

Makes sense that the holidays would disrupt some routines. (I feel the same way--I like knowing that there are certain things I can do every day that help maintain stability/resilience.) Hope you're able to get your sleep and journaling back to where they were if those have been helpful. 💜

That's so great that you had a nice Thanksgiving with your boyfriend. 😊 I could see how maybe that would help with feeling like it's okay/helpful to shift energy away from past events/people, if what's happening in the present with your current relationship is so deeply positive and nourishing.

Was the feeling of powerlessness because you were sure that you'd be able to carry out that revenge and it would help things feel better (like justice has been carried out), but now it's feeling like that isn't possible?

Honestly, I've been trying to just get to the next day. I am in deep in my healing journey and parts of it sometimes is just putting one foot in front if the other and being ok with that. Holidays have become overstimulating and not enjoyable and i'm taking some power and control back and making them what I want them to be.

That makes a lot of sense that holidays (when done in the typical way) are just a lot to deal with. And that idea of "this is uncomfortable and I just need to get through it". I hope you're able to get holidays to be closer to what works for you in the future. 💜

I wasn't exploring, only was dealing with being sick. I wish I would be able also to sleep better, not so little and wild. I feel mentally down too. Like, I feel that people only got avoidance for me. I am too depressed and my sensitivity with impulsivity strikes a lot this week. I could use a hug, definitely.

A piece of wisdom I have in mind for the last time is "peace comes by cessation of fluctuations of mind", something from yoga.

Sorry that you're been sick. 💜 I'm sure that doesn't help with a whole bunch of things (sleep, sensitivity, depression, thoughts). Were you feeling mentally down (feeling like people are avoiding you, depression, sensitivity/impulsivity) before you became sick?

Thanks for the reminder to try reading Patañjali again at some point. 😊

I've been feeling like that to different extents across my whole life. Actually, I was diagnosed as BPD recently.
