I'm a psychopath, AMA

DanielRiot January 12th, 2016

I am a real psychopath. I know how it makes you feel. I made this if anyone has any questions about it I can tell them what the truth is. not one the computer tells you but a real psychopath telling you what the truth is.

Hi Daniel, thank you so much for starting this thread!

What are the most common misconceptions and prejudices you face?

How does your skillset affect your listening practices?

Bit of gardening: Moved to the AMA (Ask me anything) section and renamed accordingly :)

@Lyra mostly people pretending I am some kind of monster just because of who I am. I did not pick to be this way but all in all its not that bad.

Oh gosh this is really interesting, thanks for doing this!
When did you realize/figure out you were a psychopath?
What's your relationships with others like? Do you have close friends/a significant other?

@cinnamontoast666

I was told by my doctor that I was. I never really came to it by myself. Still a little hard to belive but I can see it now. I have no relationship with people. I cant. people are more like objects. It is just how much do I trust them. That is how I judge people. On how much I trust them. people a weird animals and I learn how to fake the emotions I cant feel.

@DanielRiot Oh, wow. Thanks for answering. That.. actually sounds really lonely. I'm sorry you can't really have genuine relationships or feel real emotions :(
But I guess it could be a positive for you though - you could probably attain a 'successful life' without having to deal with the baggage of emotions weighing you down/effecting your decisions.

@DanielRiot I am also a psychopath. I had a therapist or psychologist or whatever the hell he was called for quite some time and he told me what I was. Then years later I was interacting with some people who claimed i had "manipulated" them and other things... which wasn't untrue but they were exaggerating quite a bit. Anyway, they basically blackmailed me into going to see someone after I had quit for two years... and the first day the woman I was meeting with said "I think you may lack empathy and this could cause you to have trouble making friends" and she told me to make a pros and cons list to having empathy which was honestly fucking ridiculous.

Hey, I'm a borderline high-functioning sociopath.

I find at times that I wish I could feel empathy or remorse and have normal emotions. Do you ever feel that way?

DanielRiot OP January 28th, 2016

@RozeTheCat

At times It feels as if life would be easier if I could feel them. so yes I do at times wish I could feel them. But how would I know if I like it or not if I have never felt it before.

I have borderline personality disorder so I know both sides. All borderlines have the HSP (highly sensitive person) trait at birth genetically, you can Google it if curious. That cannot be changed no matter what. But basically borderline is ASPD for HSPs. So I can tell you from my perspective that like heck I would trade all my psychopathy BS for just being an HSP. I think if you could experience emotions, you'd do everything in your power to keep them all the time. When I go numb and switch into psychopathy, it's the worst thing on earth. I feel for you (most of the time) and understand how miserable it is. Nothing is ever enough. Nothing ever fills you up. Drugs are inevitable and make this horrible situation even worse.

I'm borderline psychopathic...

I get what it's like to be emotionless and without empathy.

Sometimes I get moments where I feel empathy for people, and it's really a strange sensation to feel connected to someone. Do you ever get moments like that?

DanielRiot OP February 12th, 2016

@TheProven

nope. I have not. Not that I know of anyway.

It takes months of resurch on a person to determan if someone is or not but you are right. we are more common then you might think. just most of us are in jail or will not admit to being one.

Do you feel that you can logically understand the minds of others or their emotions? You may not know what that feeling feels like, or have an emotional response yourself but can you logically analyze people to understand what's going on and how you should respond to it?

DanielRiot OP February 16th, 2016

@Lyriia

Yes. that is how I do most things. I am rather good at anilize the situation and then reacting a sertent way to it.

I wonder if you find yourself lying in order to manipulate others? Since you have "no empathy towards animals" then you wouldn't cry if your pet died right? Do you ever cry or feel the urge to?

DanielRiot OP February 16th, 2016

@Ruby2sh0es

In my life I have lied to allot of people to get them to do whatever it is I want and no I don't cry nor do I have the urge to cry but I know a hack. I can make myself cry at almost any time or well look like I am crying. If I yaun my eyes water allot and people have told me it makes it look like I am crying. So I do that.

Ruby2sh0es February 16th, 2016

@DanielRiot interesting. Were you born this way or do you feel you've been conditioned by environmental factors? I commend your honesty...I feel I've had many interactions with people who have yet to be diagnosed as having antisocial personality disorder or they have but they hide it.

DanielRiot OP February 16th, 2016

@Ruby2sh0es

I don't know all of the fack's about it but I do know if I had bin born with it I would not know. I have had so many things happen in my life that people would call bad that if I did not get born with it I was shaped into one by other people.

Do you care in any way about hurting people, with ethics rather than empathy? Like, you rationally understand that things can make other people feel really bad and therefore you try to avoid that for others?

Do you get "bad" and "good" feelings, or are you just indifferent to whatever happens?

DanielRiot OP February 16th, 2016

@curiosityofnature

I do not care in any way about hurting other people. The only people who hang out with me are well they are not there. After I moved I don't have anyone to hang with but when I did they just got used to the fact that I will be mean to them always and not care for them but they stayed talking to me so I guess they where fine with it. Then there are people out there who think they can make me a good person once more but that would inply that I was once good at one point in my life.

@DanielRiot Thanks for your reply. I'm still wondering to which extent you experience feelings, though. I'm assuming you do get interested vs. bored, otherwise you wouldn't be here? Or, do you get some kind of satisfaction out of helping people as a listener?

I get zero sadifaction from helping people on here. I just get bored and I know I am vary good at reading people so I use it for good rather then bad.
