I'm proud of myself because I sang for a group despite doctors telling me I could not.
I have a Autonomic Disorder that affects my heart and ability to breathe. The doctors said would not be able to sing. I've been singing my whole life (I'll be 50 in October). I trained and trained to be able to sing without getting faint. Finally on Thursday I not only sang but I also played my recorder.
@knitter65, you are so amazing, such a success story - you're living it up despite what the doctors say.
I'm sure you sing beautifully, and I'm glad you feel healthy despite singing even when the docs advised against it, keep on being so awesome.
Oh thank you, you are very kind to say so! I sang Moon River from the movie Breakfast At Tiffany's. In the movie, my heroine in real life Audrey Hepburn sings Moon River. Its kinda cool to be able to sing a song one of my favorite actresses of all time sang. Fingers crossed I can give a great performance on the 3rd of October.
@knitter65, I'm such an Audrey Hepburn fan myself, glad you got to associate with her, please do keep posting about your adventures, it is quite lovely to read.
I will If its any good I'll post the video where you can see the performance. I'll be doing the whole thing in costume and make-up. Should be fun!
That would be a treat to watch, honestly. Good luck! I know you're going to rock the socks off this performance. (:
You are now my inspiration. I've been scared to get up in front of people to sing my whole life. Just recently I have been able to play in front of my class of 23 students. I have turned down the thought of the musical, noon hour concerts and even the buskers festival!
You have done so amazing, overcoming what doctors said you couldn't do. Thank you for the inspiration
OH CONGRATS @Jessiegirl5! Wow good for you! I thought about being a professional actress and singer at one point but the stress just took all the fun out of it so now I sing for just the pleasure of it. You can do anything you put your mind to! I look forward to hearing about the day you take that next step to perform! YAY!!! You go girl. Just think of your music like group therapy. It is the one thing that binds us together. :) <3
Thank you! And yes music is a big stress reliever but it's a pain when it's the thing causing you stress XD haha I was asked to perform at a local concert last month but I backed out. Maybe this months I will do! Thank you again :)
