To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".

Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

I think I should just attempt to survive another week with everything I have (school, health, work, pets, etc.). My prescription changed slightly on my glasses and they wrote up a new one for my glasses. I had to pay over $500 for the ones I got last year. And the dentist wants to do a heat treatment that will kill the bacteria buildup. The quoted price for that is $800. I think I got that done years ago and it helped. Don't remember what the cost was then. I don't have the money for either.

And there's other things that should be dealt with that I can't do. Sometimes I wonder what the point of everything is.

@Enthenia

I know it can be very frustrating sometimes and I'm sorry you're behind on things and feeling low. 😓. If anyone can answer that question, they could become millionaires selling the answer. It's something everyone wants to know. For each person it is different, and every day gives us another chance to figure it out. I think it has something to do with our nature to try to make things better, not only for ourselves but for others too.

New days and fresh perspectives help. I wish you a fresh start today. 🤗🙂

@Enthenia Hey :) I had a thought. I'm not sure where you live but if it's in the US you could look into Care Credit. It gives you 6 months with no interest It helps with things like dentist's and eye glasses. Of course these places have to accept it too. It even covers vet expenses for pets. That's how I found out about it a couple of years ago.

I also understand too if it's something you'd rather not do. It's still an expense. Maybe the dentist would work with you and allow you to make payments?

@mytwistedsoul they do payment plans. I just have to have 30% down. That's $240. Cheaper than $800 but still not happening for a bit. Think I did a payment plan when I had it done the last time. I think I tried for the Care Credit once and was denied.

I want to use my tax refund (once I get them filed) to pay down my debt. If I have anything left, maybe I could set aside some money for that. But, I did some looking. Aloe Vera and coconut oil are good ways to help prevent buildup. I found a toothpaste and mouthwash that I will try. At least I can use these while I'm trying to save up for the procedure.

SUMMARY OF "DID WELLS" WEEKS 1-6 OF 2025
(Keeping track and sharing "Did Wells" is not bragging. It is a powerful method to stay encouraged by focusing on progress and not dwelling on setbacks and hardships.)

At the end of 2024, medical problems, very bad weather and the holidays deterred me from earning any income. Because I'm self-employed, finding work is my own responsibility and I can say I was blessed and fortunate enough find employment through the weeks 2 - 6.
Keeping my personals and house in a clean and orderly manner takes a lot of effort for me. I call these my Core Balance Chores (CBC). I was able to maintain these with acceptable results.
Physical therapy (PT)
is another important obligation. I did well with PT for weeks 2-6.

In addition to these repetitive obligations, I also did well with some vehicle maintenance, some home improvements (Primarily... Storage building reorginzation) and overall forward momentum for my business, along with fair income to repair some of the debt I was facing from lack of work previously.

(P.S. I also think I'm doing well keeping track of my "Did Wells" 😁)

WEEK 1 of 2025: DID WELL - Maintained a forward direction and regrouping from the end of 2024.

WEEK 2 of 2025: DID WELL - Maintained CBC & PT. Excelled with storage situation.

WEEK 3 of 2025: DID WELL -  Excelled CBC & Maintained PT. Excelled with storage situation. Maintained employment.

WEEK 4 of 2025: DID WELL -  Maintained CBC & PT. Advanced storage situation. Maintained employment

WEEK 5 of 2025: DID WELL -  Maintained CBC & PT. Record keeping. Prepped for employment. Maintained employment

WEEK 6 of 2025: DID WELL -  Maintained CBC & PT. Record keeping. Prepped for employment. Maintained consistent employment. Income was good.

Reminder: Here are two threads, to help you star in your own, "Do Well" lists.

@IsayUncle i love this post and this entire thread! i'm in the process of readjusting my life to focus on more important things, but that includes self-care and just basic chores. i like your concept of CBC. i'll have to read the links and come up with my own game plan on basic chores vs other things i need to do.

a goal this week is to accomplish an important communication this week. once that's done, i'll be able to focus more on the above.

Well great! And thanks, i'm glad you like it.

I'd love to hear your journey.

My Core balance Chores were born at a time when functioning on a daily basis was almost impossible for me. These simple tasks were momentous for me and if I did not do them, I would be living in squalor......  They turned into my most basic sense of balance, hence.. my core balance.

I've surpaseed the impossibilty of doing them but never to forget the importance of them because they are recurring on a daily basis and if I neglect them, eventually I will start spiralling out of balance.

i have a nagging communication that i must address because it is consuming an enormous amount a potential forward movement.

I don't know if that's similar to your communication situation, but I'm just saying me too. 😕

Good luck on your stuff! 😀

@IsayUncle so nice to hear from you!

a little background on me is i have chronic illness and struggle to do basic self-care currently, so that's something i need to address. basic things/chores wear me out. i'm so glad you were able to figure out how to do your CBC because you're right, it is so important. you mentioned living in squalor. i'm in in squalor per se but i am in a hole and feel like i'm drowning. i have let myself go for a while so need to get back on track.

yes, my communication this week is similar! good luck with yours too.

I'm sorry about your chronic illness. It's easy to understand the extra fatigue and tiredness that you have to push yourself through can be really discouraging. It does make things a lot harder. 😢

I'd like to encouage you to do or master one thing (the same thing) every day. Do that one thing faitfhully every day. Let that be your very first core balance chore..... in your own time, frame add another without neglecting the first.

These would be essentials. I remeber my first two were, #1 - Not only, getting out of bed, but making the bed as soon as I got out of bed. My second was #2 - Wash my dishes and keep the kitchen clean.

There were many other things I tried to keep up with but #1 and #2 were the essentials to be done every day to help me stay balanced. It took a long time to master them, but I did, because it felt good and then..... I added a third. 🙂.

My Goal, is to address my communication thing soon. I let the first the first year go by because I was dealing with my own stuff. I let the second year go by because the other did not make it easy. I let the third year go by because I can't find the words and also have very mixed feelings between selfless resignation or justified criticism....... But I'm close..... I hope you can do it too. good luck.

btw, I didn't get to the point of squalor, but it was on the horizon and I was headed that way. I wonder if there is such a thing as mental squalor, because if there is, I think I was at that point.

@IsayUncle thank you for the encouragement. i will have to think of what my #1 and #2 things would be, and just focus on one at a time. that seems doable. i have done that in the past, it usually takes  me weeks to feel like i'm used to the habit of doing something.

i hope your communication goes well! mine was ok, i'm glad i did it but based on their reaction i'm left 2nd guessing myself, if i made the right decision with regards to the issue, and feel depressed. i have a counselor who's been helping me navigate this though.

mental squalor. i could be in that, or maybe emotional squalor.

Your welcome.

"i have done that in the past, it usually takes  me weeks to feel like i'm used to the habit of doing something."  I'd like to point out, even if you get used to it and starts to form into a habit, life has a way of making us relax and become complacent. And then we start to neglect those things we accomplished.

A Core Balance Chore is a chore you maintain faithfully, not because it's a habit but because it's something, you keep done, regardless of external deterants because it helps you feel accomplished on some level. It MAY turn ito a habit but most of the time it's more about just doing it because it's important to you. A series of these tasks has helped me feel more balanced. Like you said, "Just start with one thing". And plan on doing it forever because we all like clean clothe's, not just for a couple of weeks.

That's good you have someone to talk to about the communication thing..... And I think you were very brave taking a good step in that direction. It's really hard to feel complete about when other people are not sure how they feel either, but hopefully you get it resolved in your own heart as time and efforts move forward. 🙂

@IsayUncle you're right. i experience getting a handle on let's say 2-3 chores and then think oh i can skip it this time, for whatever reason that i'm realizing now i should just push through, then i skip it again, and before i know it i haven't done it in months.

i'm feeling so depressed since the communication i've been crying every day since then, which isn't typical for me unless something is bad. i'm not functioning well, not eating enough or doing basic chores. i'm confused. i don't know if i am wrong, or if the other person is, or both, or neither. i'm not sleeping well or on a daily schedule. when this happens i just try to get through the day. not to make excuses. i'm realizing this can happen but i probably should push through things more too, otherwise i'll be at the whim of whatever circumstances unfold.

I completely understand. 😢. Everything is out of control.

I guess that's where I was at, when I decided to try to control one important thing. (important to me... like making my bed).

I'm sorry you have these mixed feelings and emotions going cray cray on you. I like what you phrased the other day, "emotional squalor" 🙁. Some days will be better than others and maybe you can start to build a little energy on those days. 🤗

So, even though, I did well with numerous things, weeks 1-6, there are, other numerous things that are trying to weight me down and make me give up.

THIS WEEK, Week #7 is starting off with me being a little bit bewildered. I have to slow down, reflect.

In this reflection, I remember the importance of my Core Balance Chores. I Must maintain those today. I want to quit, I want to sleep all day. I must not! I will feel bad and be further behind for tomorrow. I do not want to lose the momentum of my "Did Wells" weeks 1-6

Today my goal is to complete all my CBC's 100% (There is no employment today)
6:38AM: Wash dishes.

User Profile: IsayUncle
IsayUncle OP February 11th

Dishes done!

9:02am: CBC - Morning tasks

"What's the point of it all?"

@Enthenia -  For me..... So things, DO NOT get as bad as they can get, if I don't keep trying. 😨

Don't get too discouraged, you have accomplished so much. image_1739283323.png

@IsayUncle I don't know. A lot of the time it feels like I haven't really accomplished anything. It's more like a trade-off I guess.

Yea, I know what you mean. I know it doesn't feel like it sometimes, but I think you end up on the upside of that trade off more often than you think or feel. You're alright! You got this.
