The theme of today's Member Appreciation Day in Mindfulness is Compassion and Acceptance, so let's spend some moments on reflecting on it.
We all go through rough patches in our lives, have to cope with situations we never expected, situations we do not want but cannot change at that time, see loved ones hurting without being able to take away their pain, we might even start to dislike ourselves, feel unable to accept our looks, our traits, just the way we are. It hurts and it is stressful, and often there’s no quick fix or easy solution. However, we can become our own friend, be our own companion to help us through.
What kind of companion would you like by your side if you go through such a time? The kind of companion who says, with a cold, uncaring voice, “Suck it up, princess. I don’t want to hear your whining, or the kind of companion who says, with a kind and caring voice, “This is really tough, I’m here for you” , the kind of voice that tells you “Right now in this moment you can’t change things, only acceptance can help to prevent adding more suffering to your pain but it doesn't mean that you can't work on changing things” ?
Today I like to ask everyone to share some words of compassion for themselves and others and something about themselves they accept.
Let me start
I accept my sensitivity, which was not always easy for me. I learned here to be much more compassionate toward myself and made this one of my priorities. I hope everyone on the site will find comfort and peace and accept themselves as they are. Remember you're amazing as you are in your own way!

I would love to have a companion whose comforting presence I would feel even if they weren't physically present. Who in silence would say it all. Whose hug 🤗 or touch would take all my pain away. 💖💕💓

"I see that you're struggling but I also see that you're fighting. You are doing everything you can to confront those fears, challenges and destructive emotions. And maybe you don't see it but it's an act of being strong, brave and clever. You should be proud of yourself and never ever think you're not enough. You are more than enough. You went through so many things and you still can see the world in bright colours. That's the power of your positive midset you worked hard on. That's the power you've been hiding in yourself and now you just let it flow. Let yourself be happy. Let yourself be free from tears, bad influence, restrictions and hurtful comments. It's amazing to see you changing, growing and going further. Now you don't have to be alone. You've been alone for way too long. Please, don't ever hide and talk to me. I want to listen to you, I want to help you, I'll always be there for you. "

I accept my sensitive heart. Accepting this, now I know that I can feel bad and hurt intensely and cry soo much because my heart pains whenever someone I love hurts me. Now I don't look at my sensitive heart as a weakness rather an integral part of me, which makes me who I am. I hope everyone with a sensitive heart can feel good about having a sensitive heart. ❤️

I accept the experiences, challenges, obstacles, struggles that I have gone through in my life, still go through and will go through in the future. I accept that at times these moments in my life will not be easy at all and I will even have days where I will question the point of living and ask the difficult questions such as "Why Me?" "What did I do to deserve These Things". But I understand that I am more than capable of overcoming all these things and in fact one day will do exactly just that. One of my biggest purposes and passions in life is to use these things to help others going through similar things.
I accept that I often have a hard time accepting help from others, and that I have trouble trusting other people. Even though it's hard, I do try and at least give people the benefit of the doubt. I accept the many failures in my life and know that they have only helped me become a stronger and better person.
I accept my resiliance. I have never given myself credit for all the hard, difficult, and painful things I have lived through. I just trotted through it, fell A LOT, broken, bruised, bleeding...but I survived. When I reflect back I see someone who had a strength like no other. Who despite the struggles and trials, came out...ALIVE. It never felt good in the moment, but recognizing that that person was ME...that I was able to do that...(sometimes by myself, sometimes with the support of others)...makes me feel like I can do anything. For this I am proud of me.
You are a talented writer and you start simply by writing for you.
Just like in Field of Dreams "If you build it, they will come." . . . "If you write it, someone will read it." (Movie Orange County for example)
You enjoy it so just do it.

Acceptance and Compassion
I accept the fact that I cannot always be 100% present and sometimes thoughts and emotions get in the way. I will have compassion for myself and my shortcomings and for those who sometimes suffer from my difficult days.
