by MindfulJourney22
Last post
December 2nd, 2024
...See more Greetings everyone! We invite you to take part in the Gratitude Circle, a mindful activity designed to foster appreciation and strengthen connections within our community. This is a simple yet meaningful way to acknowledge and celebrate the positive impact others have made in our lives. By sharing gratitude and appreciation, we create a supportive and uplifting environment for all. We encourage everyone to participate and spread kindness by taking a moment to express what you’re thankful for. Let’s come together and make this space one of positivity and connection! 1. Take a few moments to quiet your mind and reflect on the people in this community who have made a positive impact on you. It could be through their kind words, helpful Suggestions, or thoughtful actions. 2.  In this thread, post a short message of gratitude. Tag the person you're appreciating and explain what you’re thankful for. It could be something they’ve done recently or something they've always done that made a difference. 3. When you share your appreciation, make sure to tag a different person each time you post. This ensures that everyone has the chance to feel valued. 4.  After posting, take a moment to breathe deeply and send positive thoughts or intentions to the person you just thanked. ------------------------- Current taglist as of November 17,  2024 To add or remove yourself from the taglist please click  [https://www.7cups.com/forum/mindfulness/Announcements_2413/MindfulnessAutomatedTaglist_320002/?post=3438021]here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/mindfulness/Announcements_2413/MindfulnessAutomatedTaglist_320002/?post=3438021] @4551SP @adventurousBranch3786 @Admirablerainbow2825 @adventurousCat7477 @Agent22 @alexandralee @AllAboutThePeace11 @amiablePeace77@asherb281 @avistaco @cal1860 @CaringSub @CatHanderOutNoah @Clio9876 @communicativeJet616 @dapperBeach8823 @daydreammemories @DragonspanAnge @EchoOrAsh @etherealize @Falcon05 @fearlessMaple308 @FloraBelle @ForestZen @frankPark1546 @GentleHealingInitiative @Goldenfox2009 @greenScarf6235 @hardworkingBeechwood6063 @healingsoul4892 @iloveyouxx @imprettysleepy @indigoBeechwood597 @infiniteforever12 @InsightfulPhoenix @Invisibility101 @JarofSeeds627 @jaywalkk @Kickan75 @kindRiver6 @kivesh @Linux2022 @Littlejoy11 @livinggadget @MindfulJourney22 @mytwistedsoul @nessapressure05 @NurseJose @NotAllHere713 @onwardforevenmore @pamharley003 @PeacefulBeach3454 @peacefulDovex @PopPunkPrincess17 @Rainboho @rebeccastgo @sincereGrapefruit83  @sky2Ocean20 @Snowy00 @spongbobishappy @sunshineBeauty5741 @Swordpsalm @tallZebra8032 @Tinywhisper11 @toughApricot223 @warmMemory6263 @willingBranch634 @VKlistening @yellowPineapple3652 @yzzil @Zeraphim

World Mental Health Day: Embracing Mindfulness
by ASilentObserver
Last post
October 15th, 2024
...See more Hello, community,  I hope you are all taking it easy this week. As we all know World Mental Health Day is observed annually on October 10th. It is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about mental health issues and challenges and promoting well-being. When it comes to promoting well-being, mindfulness is one of the powerful practices to attain it. Today I want us to explore this topic and how it can significantly enhance our mental health.  So what is mindfulness?  It is the practice of being fully present in the moment, without any judgment. It includes paying attention to our thoughts, feelings, and sensations without getting caught up in them. In today's busy world, mindfulness is the key to taking care of our well-being. Some of the benefits of practicing mindfulness are:  * It helps to reduce stress by calming the mind and body. It helps to lower cortisol levels, a hormone associated with stress. * When we are focused on the present moment, mindfulness can help to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. * It helps individuals better understand and manage their emotions, leading to greater emotional resilience. * Regular practice of mindfulness can improve sleep quality by reducing racing thoughts and promoting relaxation. * Also helps individuals become more aware of their thoughts and behaviors, leading to greater self-understanding. By practicing mindfulness in our daily lives, we can improve our mental health and overall well-being. So let's commit to making mindfulness a priority in our daily lives and foster a culture of taking care of ourselves and being compassionate to ourselves and each other. How do you practice mindfulness in daily life? Share your thoughts and tips in the comments below.

...See more Summaries of Discussions for December 23rd and December 26th 2024 Power of Positive Affirmations: Positive affirmations are things we say out loud or in our head. They are a form of self help. When we practice this positive affirmation it helps us to over come fears and self doubt. Positive affirmations can also be when we write something down in a journal.  Affirmations when positive help us build ourselves up and improve our confidence.  what are some ways to build our confidence? Thriving on our own without feeling lonely: Sometimes we may like being alone because it makes us have to think more about things without being judged. Sometimes being alone is not what we want. Being alone makes us get to know ourselves better.  We begin to reflect on things and be able to work out differences we may have about something. We may feel sad when we feel alone because we feel no one is around for us to be with. Solitude is a time for us to self reflect on ourselves, a relaxation, and personal growth.  when you are alone how do you feel? Do you reflect on things when your alone and thinking? ✅ To add yourself to this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please add me. ❌ To remove yourself from this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please remove me. @4551SP @adventurousBranch3786 @Admirablerainbow2825 @Agent22 @alexandralee @AllAboutThePeace11 @amiablePeace77@asherb281 @avistaco @CaringSub @CatHanderOutNoah  @communicativeJet616 @dapperBeach8823 @daydreammemories @DragonspanAnge @EchoOrAsh @etherealize @Falcon05 @fearlessMaple308 @FloraBelle @ForestZen @frankPark1546 @GentleHealingInitiative @Goldenfox2009 @greenScarf6235 @hardworkingBeechwood6063 @healingsoul4892 @iloveyouxx @indigoBeechwood597 @infiniteforever12 @InsightfulPhoenix @Invisibility101 @JarofSeeds627 @jaywalkk @Kickan75 @kindRiver6 @kivesh @Littlejoy11 @livinggadget @mytwistedsoul @nessapressure05 @NurseJose @NotAllHere713 @onwardforevenmore @pamharley003 @PeacefulBeach3454 @peacefulDovex @PopPunkPrincess17 @Rainboho @rebeccastgo @sincereGrapefruit83  @sky2Ocean20 @Snowy00 @spongbobishappy @sunshineBeauty5741 @Swordpsalm @tallZebra8032 @Tinywhisper11 @toughApricot223 @warmMemory6263 @VKlistening @yellowPineapple3652 @yzzil @Zeraphim

...See more I live in a very industrialised area so have made a micro nature reserve on my balcony, though it's still very much a work in progress.  I spend some mindful time out there every day.  I'd like to share the peace & delight I enjoy there with you.  It's my place of refuge from a troubled world & the stresses & burdens of life.   When two or more ladybirds are gathered together, it's called "a loveliness of ladybirds" (ladybugs).

...See more Beginner's Mind- Seeing things fresh with Mindfulness A beginner's mind gives us a fresh way of seeing things, releasing any judgement we may have while unlocking our ability to things in our present state of life. When we are new to something we tend to open our mind to learning, develop an understanding and adopt a mindset. There are 4 state of minds: free of preconceptions: how something actually works free of expectations: what will happen filled with curiosity: how we understand something ,ore completely  open to a world of possibilities gaining what is or isn't possible. Reducing stress with Mindfulness: Practicing mindfulness help us to reduce anxiety and depression. Mindfulness is defined as being fully present and aware of what we are sensing and feeling in that moment. It helps us from the constant thinking, what happened last week, why did I do that yesterday, what needs to be done tomorrow or in the future.  Practicing mindfulness exercises helps us  reduce stress, depression and anxiety have less negative thinking and distractions Improve our mood a tool in coping with pain management What are some ways you practice mindfulness or meditation to reduce stress? finding Forgiveness
by pamharley003

...See more Check In for January 3rd to January 6th  Sometimes we find it hard to forgive someone for things they have said or things they have done. We are human somewhere along our life we have made mistakes whether not too big or extremely big. Forgiveness is not the same as condoning ourselves or others for misbehaving.  When we forgive ourselves or others we are making amends with the situation. We make amends when it is needed. This is where we have heard the phrase " forgive and forge", sometimes it is easy to forgive and move on and other times depending on the mistake it is hard to forget because we do not know how to instill trust in ourselves or others.  How do you process forgiving yourself or others that have done something wrong?  what is one way to forgive someone who is truly sorry for their words or actions? ✅ To add yourself to this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please add me. ❌ To remove yourself from this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please remove me. @4551SP @adventurousBranch3786 @Admirablerainbow2825 @Agent22 @alexandralee @AllAboutThePeace11 @amiablePeace77@asherb281 @avistaco @CaringSub @CatHanderOutNoah  @communicativeJet616 @dapperBeach8823 @daydreammemories @DragonspanAnge @EchoOrAsh @etherealize @Falcon05 @fearlessMaple308 @FloraBelle @ForestZen @frankPark1546 @GentleHealingInitiative @Goldenfox2009 @greenScarf6235 @hardworkingBeechwood6063 @healingsoul4892 @iloveyouxx @indigoBeechwood597 @infiniteforever12 @InsightfulPhoenix @Invisibility101 @JarofSeeds627 @jaywalkk @Kickan75 @kindRiver6 @kivesh @Littlejoy11 @livinggadget @mytwistedsoul @nessapressure05 @NurseJose @NotAllHere713 @onwardforevenmore @pamharley003 @PeacefulBeach3454 @peacefulDovex @PopPunkPrincess17 @Rainboho @rebeccastgo @sincereGrapefruit83  @sky2Ocean20 @Snowy00 @spongbobishappy @sunshineBeauty5741 @Swordpsalm @tallZebra8032 @Tinywhisper11 @toughApricot223 @warmMemory6263 @VKlistening @yellowPineapple3652 @yzzil @Zeraphim

Making a New Year resolution with Mindfulness
by pamharley003
Last post

...See more Check in December 30th 2024 to January 1st 2025 As we all ring in the New year has any of us kept the resolution for the following year, I can say I have not on at times.  Resolutions are defined as an act of determining an action, course of action, method and procedure. We resolve things we face differently depending on the situation. We are not all perfect we do at times make mistakes, poor judgement and slip - ups. Mindfulness teaches us how to do things patiently and have determination to reach the goals we want.  One problem we may face is that with our resolutions it will place us in an effort mode and not become lazy on the process. Here are some ways to make a guide for a New Year resolution. consider our intentions - some examples can be losing weight, saving money and be better prepared in life. By setting these it will come easier to maintain the goals. focus on process not results - We need to focus on how we will make the process of the resolutions we choose and how we do it rather that focusing on the results.  changing our habits - This is when we focus on the habit ex: stop smoking, lose weight. the process for this is self transformation or self awareness. We examine the habit we are wanting to change and come up with a process in changing the habit.  What are some resolutions you want for the New Year? How will you reach them? Wishing you all a happy New Year  ✅ To add yourself to this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please add me. ❌ To remove yourself from this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please remove me. @4551SP @adventurousBranch3786 @Admirablerainbow2825 @Agent22 @alexandralee @AllAboutThePeace11 @amiablePeace77@asherb281 @avistaco @CaringSub @CatHanderOutNoah  @communicativeJet616 @dapperBeach8823 @daydreammemories @DragonspanAnge @EchoOrAsh @etherealize @Falcon05 @fearlessMaple308 @FloraBelle @ForestZen @frankPark1546 @GentleHealingInitiative @Goldenfox2009 @greenScarf6235 @hardworkingBeechwood6063 @healingsoul4892 @iloveyouxx @indigoBeechwood597 @infiniteforever12 @InsightfulPhoenix @Invisibility101 @JarofSeeds627 @jaywalkk @Kickan75 @kindRiver6 @kivesh @Littlejoy11 @livinggadget @mytwistedsoul @nessapressure05 @NurseJose @NotAllHere713 @onwardforevenmore @pamharley003 @PeacefulBeach3454 @peacefulDovex @PopPunkPrincess17 @Rainboho @rebeccastgo @sincereGrapefruit83  @sky2Ocean20 @Snowy00 @spongbobishappy @sunshineBeauty5741 @Swordpsalm @tallZebra8032 @Tinywhisper11 @toughApricot223 @warmMemory6263 @VKlistening @yellowPineapple3652 @yzzil @Zeraphim

What I practice while being mindful

...See more I saw a post on my feed asking about mindful tips, here are some that I practice. 1:  Visualization - I like to imagine I have a driver who takes me anywhere I would like to go, or a free pass to attend anywhere I would like with no limits of use. 2: Deep Breathing - A little advance but probably the most useful. As I have incorporated this into my daily routine I've have less setbacks and what not, with it being at 2 this month. 3: Stretching - I like to do this while deep breathing. I've notice that I'm able to release tension in my bones. I literally hear my back popping as I'm doing this. I think this is what releasing trauma from your body feels like. 4: Exercise - I've always exercised, but I do so more now in my 40's. It started very rigorous but now I just do like 15 or 25 sit ups. Maybe some squats for about 60 secs. 5: Mindful Eating - This is very difficult for me in some ways. I use to battle with achalasia, but after I added ginger to my diet I stopped have stomach spasms. I think doing that and sit-ups helped with that. So while eating without my splinter locking up isn't a issue anymore, I do have trouble taking time to eat, eating to fast. Last thing I want to mention is mindful social activity. A lot of us are here because me battle with depression or some sort of illness mentally so sometimes you feel as though social interaction would be the cure for it. I've found that it kind of depletes my energy making it difficult for me the next day. It's like you have this diagnoses of depression or schizoaffective and you think I'm just not included into society anymore. I need to find a way to be included again, cause if I'm included then that means I'm normal and I'll accept myself again. Social interaction is cool, especially with the right people but after awhile it becomes like keeping up with the Jones'. So that's why I say mindful social interaction. Just because your this or that doesn't mean your excluded, it just means you get to observe more thoroughly now. ~God Bless

...See more I think a common misconception about mindfulness is that it’s always sunshine and rainbows, gratitude & positivity. and while these things are certainly a part of mindfulness, so are their counterparts, one being discomfort. practicing mindfulness during uncomfortable situations or emotions is so hard. yet, I think it can be one of the most transformative aspects of mindfulness. when we let ourselves fully embrace pain, suffering, or the like, it can be the first step in letting go of these experiences.  today, if you feel called, let yourself sit in your discomfort, for a moment or two. maybe consider sharing what it was like to let yourself fully experience the uncomfortable emotions, thoughts, or memories.

...See more Hey everyone! I hope you’re all doing well! What are your New Year's resolutions? Remember, even small changes can make a significant impact. It’s time to acknowledge your bad habits and commit to transforming them for the better. Let’s take action and make this year count for the better.

The Mindfulness Center welcomes you to a place where it is okay to just be, and not worry about 100 things. You can observe nature or your own room, follow your breath going in and out, or be aware of your feet touching the sidewalk as you head home. It is all mindfulness.

There are no hard and fast rules on how to be mindful, and you do not have to do anything a certain way. There are guidelines to help us stay on the path of mindfulness, like in the Daily Checkins, where team members share insights and tips about mindfulness. You can join in the discussions there, or in any of the forum threads.

You will also find videos in the resource center that talk about what is mindfulness and guide us on a journey to having an actual experience right now of what it feels like to be free of our “thought train”, as we let ourselves go and relax a bit. If all of this sounds good, join us for hosted sessions in which you can discuss and experience mindfulness first hand.

Stop and breath. Respect yourself and have compassion for what you are going through.

Notice what is happening around you that your senses are telling you. Feel the breath go in and go out.

Feel good about yourself. Life has brought you on a journey up to here. That is reason to celebrate and appreciate all that life offers. And listen and feel the breath!
