The first 3 conversations helped us set the foundation for this discussion. The idea that the problem is the path or the obstacle is the way comes from the Stoics. If interested, I also recommend this book as a good overview of stoic thinking. I think there is a tremendous amount of wisdom in these ancient ideas. I'm glad to see much of it resurfacing now. ÃÃÂ
This disucssion is the most important discussion in this course. This is the core insight to learn for your own personal and professional development as well as the key insight that will continue to help us grow and evolve at 7 Cups. Please really take your time to think through these ideas. They matter and they are meaningful. These ideas can help change the trajectory of your life.
Here are the questions:

2. Watch this overview video by Ryan Holiday on his book the Obstacle is the way.. In your own words, please identify and describe the 3 key components he outlined in the video. ÃÃÂ

@GlenM
how interesting and in one frightening, how they are able to divert our attention on how many device. brainwashing such this. this may be useful in that case, if we ourselves go through this positively, advantageously.
it is very good, that can be been to get rid of the denial. only simply into an eye is needed let us be watching with our problem, ourselves.
@Mankka
Happy to know that you see it that way!
@Mankka
Good response, Mankka!
@Mankka
You are right !
@Mankka great answer!
@GlenM
Hello! How are you?
Problems decrease our denial. They help to break free from the shadow. They make us conscious. We become better people because of problems.
Problems are great teachers. We remember problems, we remember how hard they are, but we also remember the lesson that we learn because of them. They make us wise people, and we can strongly benefit from them.
Problems encourage us to help. We want to support. We want to help. Because of problems, we do. We highly care for others because of this challenging problems. They make us helpful, caring people, and we can make a difference because of that.
Perception: We see the problem. If we see it from a "This is insurmountable" perspective, we negatively impact our actions, and we shape the situation in a not-so-good way. If we see it as an opportunity, we positively impact our actions, and we shape the situation in a very good way. Perception influences the whole problem.
Action: We act. We do. We do what we need to do to solve the problem. This changes the situation and our circunstances. This is the core. This is what truly shapes us.
Will: This is the wisdom, the acceptance and even the love for the things that we cannot change. This is embracing and even enjoying our fate, even if it s bad. Like Edison, it s watching the fire, instead of worrying about it.
@Daf8 excellent summary!
@GlenM
Thank you, Glen!
How are you today?
@Daf8
"This is the core. This is what truly shapes us." I like this perception. Everything that we do has to do with some type of action, whether it is positive or negative. Either way, each action/choice we make will impact what happens next and how it happens, even if we don't think so. Do we have control over what happens next, not all the time, but our choices make a difference in how it happens. Thanks for your input!
@Daf8
@GlenM
1. What are 3 key points from Chapter 4 that stand out to you.?
1- Problems do need to be faced and dealt with . The have disquised values.
2.We grow from facing the problems and this can help us to be better to others actually be more autherntic and caring. .
3.Problems also teach us to ask for help .. We grow when things are challenging so reaching out and talking about what our problems are will help us so much and not believe we are stuck with a problem and carrying it around and never really dealing .. growing , learning...
2. Watch this overview video by Ryan Holiday on his book the Obstacle is the way.. In your own words, please identify and describe the 3 key components he outlined in the video.
First off he talks really fast ! lol
1.Perception -How we see things. What we tell ourselves.
2.Action-What actions we can take . Working on solving problems , facing things.
3.Will- Things we can not control and accept that we can't and not worrying about things we can't change and work on things we can change..
Worrying has never solved anything only makes things grow and grow. We have no control over others and many circumstances. We can however work very hard on things we can and see the end results and what a better outcome can be if we do let go of trying to control things we just can not.... Illness will come, Death will come and Bills lol ..
Tye.
