2. What was  most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?  Â

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

@GlenM

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

7 cups:

-teaches you to overcome mental and physical barriers

-believes in you without judgement

-understands growth takes time

2. What was the most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

We are all interdependent on each other and we should never feel ashamed to reach out for help. If you deny your problems for too long you become numb, emotionless, a shell of the person you truly are. Who is more successful? A billionaire in a sad situation with nobody to talk to or a person with average income who has a family that can all rely on each other when necessary and overcome problems together?

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

The core of 7 cups is helping others to get more comfortable with asking for help and accepting that sometimes they might not be ok. In 7 cups, having constantly high expectations and high warmth will help others to get more comfortable with the idea of asking for help. This is because high warmth will result in an open and non-judgemental community and high expectations result in high-quality listeners.

1. The thing that stood out the most to me in the introduction was how welcoming and warm it was. I really felt like I was being spoken to by a kindhearted person who had true and good intentions for me, as opposed to feeling like I was being condescended to as other texts of this type can feel.

2. The more important lesson that I learned from the story of Ancora was just how important it is to be vulnerable. I often struggle with this, personally, and it’s been one of the things that I have been working on. Ancora’s story really hit home for this reason.

3. We can learn and help others with this concept by providing them a safe, constructive environment where they can feel comfortable asking for help.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction? People try all kinds of things to stop fear but only kindness and compassion is an antidote.

2. What was a most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)? Rather that look outside to solve our most pressing problems, look inside and see what we can give right now to others rather than trying to get something solely for ourselves.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

The first step is within ourselves. We can give people a judgement free view without biases and beliefs of what they can and cannot do. We can compliment them or acknowledge that they are doing the best they can with the gifts they have. We can share some of what we are grateful for. Most of all we need to realize and practice that the help we need, even though it appears to come from without, starts when we recognize the power is within us.

1) The thing that stood out to me the most is how well-written the sentences are to make the readers feel welcomed and comfortable. Its straightforwardness is something that I appreciated in working of affairs.

2) Most important lesson that I learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1) are chemical in our medicine is really curing and effective but it only make the situations worsen even more. It's because it's just masked us from trying to reach help an find the solutions that it needs to be.

3) Truthfully, there are many of us that are capable to ask for helps but don't have courage to do it. We need to always remind them that it's ok to ask for help and reaching out to others. This will help them to be learn something new and lessons.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?
Life is often confusing and unsure. This is how it feels like to be human. You are human, and because of that you're going to make lots of mistakes and get lost. When this happens, don't spend any time beating yourself up. Pick yourself up and move forward. The path is waiting for you. The path is always there.

2. What was most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?
Basic process that creates healing: need forces you to face your problems and ask for help in solving them. Once help received, you feel better and want to help others.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?
By sharing how we feel once we received help that would motivate us to help others. And how the help keeps going, it will strengthen the bond in the community. It creates trust, hope, and love.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

Personal growth is not easy. Sometimes when our lives have been too hectic for too long, we forget that life is hard. We might face bigger challenges than the average person, or we might have experienced more pain and difficulty, but life was still never meant to be simple or clear in the first place. It is perfectly normal to struggle when growing to be a better person, or learning to take better care of yourself. This journey will involve mistakes, and pitfalls, and distractions, and it's absolutely okay, as long as we choose to keep going, step by step.

2. What was the most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

Ancora had everything, but they were not healthy. The poor had nothing, the hurting had less than nothing, but they were more emotionally healthy than the wealthiest people. That's because emotional health has nothing to do with your circumstances in life, but how you reach out to others and open yourself up to receive help. Trying to fix it yourself by suppressing our pain or distracting from it only allows it to grow, while opening up to others and receiving support helps us receive help and love from others, and learn to trust others. That's how we start to become more emotionally healthy: by facing your need for help head on and allowing yourself to receive it.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

We can remind ourselves and others how we react when others come to us for help. Often, we are completely willing to lend a helping hand, or at least direct them to someone who would be able to help them. We can also remember that we are all human. We all have need. And we would all benefit from a helping hand. The sooner we face that head on and help each other out, the sooner we can move forward better as a whole.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

I think it was the structure of it – using a story telling approach in order to share the views on a zombie-like feeling that goes through so many people`s minds, and then it finishes up with the explanation.

2. What was the most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

In order to avoid the zombie-like feeling, you have to share your feelings, story and accept being vulnerable and out of your comfort zone in front others sometimes.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

There is a strong link between reaching out for support and the individual`s needs. By making them find out and accept what they need can be a great step towards showing them how important and helful asking for help can be. I would also add, by creating a judgment-free space where they can have the chance to build trust in someone else can actually help people forget about the shame or fear they experience when considering opening up.

What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

you believe in me, that we believe in you, and that we basically believe.

What was the most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

I learned that compassion and care are the keys to the solution. That they are a life-saver, and that it makes the real difference.

How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

by understanding that we can grow together, and that we are not alone. That we can be a whole, and that we can be better by supporting each other.

1. What was the thing that stood out to you most in the introduction?

I loved the little poem at the very beginning. I really enjoyed that it said “we believe in you” I think this is such an important statement that we sometimes don’t hear enough. Although it’s just written in a book, it can mean so much to know you have people who believe in you! I also like how it states that “we are not interested in judging you” I think we all fear judgment of some sort, being a leader I think you fear you will be judged-but hearing that you aren’t/won’t be is kind of a sigh of relief! Growth is not easy, which sometimes we can forget about as well, it can be hard and frustrating at times, “this has nothing to do with you. This is just life” - I really like this.. it shows athough we may struggle with personal growth, irs a part of life and sometimes out of our control!

2. What was most important lesson you learned from the story of Ancora (Chapter 1)?

I really enjoyed reading this story-it kind of hits home a bit to what’s happening in the world right now as well. I learned we can’t help others, if we aren’t willing to accept help ourselves. That kindness, love and compassion will not only grow and better ourselves, but others around us as well. It doesn’t matter what you have in this life, if you’re rich or poor, the one thing that helps us is orhers and makes us all equal is love.

3. How can we learn and help others get more comfortable with the idea that asking for help - or experiencing need - is a strength or a skill that we need to develop to help one another grow stronger?

I think it’s hard for a lot of people to reach out for help. When they do we should acknowledge it more, and let them know how proud we are of them and that it’s a brave thing to do - praising and acknowledging go a long way. In order to teach others the importance of reaching out for help, we also need to realize how important it is and not always think we can do everything on our own. Receiving help is okay, and it can cause us to have personal growth!
