It is a learning opportunity based on the teachings of the book ‘Get Together: How to Build a Community with Your People [https://www.amazon.com/Get-Together-build-community-people/dp/1732265194].' The book is written by authors who are experts on community building. We encourage anyone who is interested in community building and management to read the book but it's optional. We have studied the book and summarized the key lessons and their 7 Cups applications. The course will go on for 4 weeks, each week we will look at the findings of two chapters and how the principle knowledge can be applied to 7 Cups. Each week's learning will be accompanied by a quiz to test the knowledge! In order to receive your certificate and the Community Builder badge, you need to complete all quizzes (80% or over-score in all + no copy/pasting for essay questions), and submit the evaluation form. Failure to submit the evaluation form will result in no certificate or badge. Note: Each quiz contains a field where we ask you to apply some of the chapter's teachings. These are essay questions so they are not auto-graded however if a user is found to be copy/pasting the answers to satisfy the word count or not putting in the effort to come up with a relevant answer then the person will not receive a certificate or a badge. This is not a mandatory course so if you choose to take part then please try to study the notes and be honest in your answers. It is the only way to learn! Here are the updated options: Option 1:  Getting an honor role  So what tracks comes under honor roles? - Chatroom Mentor - Quality Mentor - Teen Chatroom Mentor - Teen Quality Mentor - Community/Forum Mentor - Support Team Leader - Academy Mentor - SPOT Team Member If you already have these roles, no need to do anything! You will automatically be considered for honors and your certificate will reflect the same. Anyone who comes into the LDP with a leadership role is strongly recommended to look through and apply to become a mentor! Like we know, with great power comes great responsibility. Identifying, amplifying, and deliberately building those strengths enables you to have a better personal life, professional life, and also enables you to more effectively serve others in our community. People sometimes make the mistake of focusing too much on their weaknesses. This can help, but deliberately building your strengths will get you much further in life and in your career. This course provides links to personality testing (MBTI, Big 5) where you can learn to identify your personality style and strengths. It helps you understand how to match your strengths to roles in the 7 Cups community and enables you to find a career path that will be fulfilling. It's been 4 months since we have launched our Leadership Program. It has been wonderful seeing the passion our users have for leadership. We have learned a lot and we have made a few improvements as we evolved. Time has come to add some more structure to the program and make it more accessible to everyone who wants to be a leader at 7 Cups or who is a leader but would like to take the program as professional development. We really believe in this program and what it offers. At the same time we want to focus our efforts on users who have a basic understanding of the site and what it offers. A lot of course work requires you to know the basics of the platform and be able to navigate forums/rooms/resources with ease. We want you to succeed and be best equipped to take on the course therefore we are making the following updates. Requirements to join the program Listeners - Verified Listener [https://www.7cups.com/forum/ListenerLearningJourney_149/ListenerVerificationProject_1839/NewAdditionalCriteriaToBecomeVerifiedListenerGoingLive_230276/] - No behaviour reports in the past 4 weeks If you are not a verified listener yet, you can still enroll in LDP as long as you have submitted the application form [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScVaWZvVn6STVFe26f3mThFX-9RwDoij4vSAE67TirQr4-l2w/viewform] AND you meet the requirements to become a verified listener. Members - No newbie badge - Appreciated Voice badge (for making 20 forum posts, this can be a post itself or responding to someone else’s post) - No behaviour reports in the past 4 weeks We accept members into the program especially those who hold leadership roles. However we do recommend that you join from a listener account as you will have a more broader list of roles to contribute to as a listener. Additionally, if you apply for the program, your account should be active. If your account is deactivated then your application will be rejected. Weekly Onboarding We are happy to announce that we will now do weekly onboarding for our program. This update has been made to accommodate more interested users and at the same time give more options to join the program at your convenience. We highly encourage you to apply for a date when you can truly commit to the program. Start date will always be a Monday! In order to get accepted for a start date, please make sure the date falls on a Monday (we will onboard new batches each week) Apply at least 5 days early Apply at least 5 days before the start date you desire. If you apply later or on the start date itself then you will be automatically put into the next week’s batch. You can apply for a future date (like from a month from now) However we recommend that you apply closer to the date (like a week before) Prepare to Commit Lastly, a lot of work goes into the leadership program. Volunteers and admins work together to train you to become exceptional leaders. In return we ask that you honor our time by applying for a date that you can commit to. We want you to succeed and this program will remain open all year round so there is no hurry. When you do apply, please set time aside to work on the course and truly commit to it. Help us help you! You will receive the acceptance email 3-4 days before your preferred start date. You are required to respond to the email and confirm that you can make the commitment to complete the program. ...See more Hi everyone! There is a new update for trainees and a very important one at that. Starting June 20th, we are shifting Progress Reports to be done in forums. How does it work? Every two weeks, we ask that you reply to the thread here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/LeadershipDevelopmentProgram_202/LeadershipDevelopmentTrack_2138/ProgressReportsPostHere_279745/] for reporting your program progress. What do I say in the thread? You will answer three questions: * How many weeks it has been? * What all your have completed so far? * Where do you need support from us? What will it do? It will help you see other trainees that are in the same boat as you, interact with them and help each other out. When do I start doing this? From your very next progress report submission date. Remember that you are to submit a PR every two weeks. If your next date is coming up soon, please post in this thread. Any form submissions will NOT be counted and can affect your graduation. Those enrolled for 6 weeks have to post in the thread TWICE (at weeks 2 & 4), and those enrolled for 8 weeks have to post in the thread THRICE (at weeks 2, 4, & 6). Who is checking? A mentor is assigned to make sure you are submitting it every two weeks. How do I remember? This is a sub-community for the Leadership Development Program. The program is designed to help you become a strong leader. Each course is created to get you to focus on the leader in you and to give you theoretical and practical knowledge of becoming a leader. It also teaches you interpersonal skills, problem-solving, building a community, and even basic leadership principles.

What is required to join?
- For listeners: Verified Listener badge or at least have applied to become a VL (in progress)
- For members: No newbie badge, Appreciated Voice badge

The program’s duration can be either 6 weeks or 8 weeks and we onboard new trainees every Monday. So please apply 5 days before the Monday you wish to join. You can apply here!
