Poetry
Hello! Does anybody have poetry to share? I use poetry as a way to express my emotions, and I’d love to see if anybody else values this as I do.

Wow, making a poem from your emotions is such a wonderful way to express yourself! Feel welcome to share your poems sometime, if you like!
We also have a poetry sub-community here: https://www.7cups.com/forum/poetry/ if you'd like to check out some from your peers also!💛
I wrote a poem I think a little while ago I can share with you. It’s pretty generic and has numerous cliche lines, but idk, maybe you’ll like it? I’d love to read some of your work!
Your essence haunts me
I swear I only told the moon about you
But with such information
I wouldn’t be surprised if she had shared our story with the stars
They twinkle a sort of Morse code
But my soul is too young for such old languages
All I can do now is search their sparkling hieroglyphs for solace
The day has finally reached its end
With only her murky glow left to guide me
Shadows are now carved from once full branches
And dead leaves offer a lullaby with the wind
I should put you to rest
But I’m not sure if you’ll return
If I shine a light, will you come back
Or will I just attract some bugs
I’d like to imagine a butterfly would appear
You always spoke so fondly of them
But I am reminded again that it is nighttime
Where the moths now roam, drinking up moonlight
What a silly mirage they offer
Almost a butterfly, but not quite
I was almost good enough
But I wasn’t exactly a butterfly, was I?
@MangoSlugs11 This is beautiful and sad, almost put a tear in my eye, awesome job!
Thank you so much for your kind words! It truly means a lot to hear someone else’s thoughts.
Part of a poem I wrote:
Broken is the man who
Finds pleasure in anothers pain
Broken is the man who
Hurts others for worldly gain
Broken is not the man who
Tried and failed to save
Broken is not the man who
Wept at a fallen's grave
