Venting (comments would be appreciated)
Hi everyone, I'm Jacklynn. Now before I start venting I just want to point out that yes I'm luckily, I have a loving, family, great friends and a growing support system. But having these still doesn't make me feel better about my problems. Anyway, I have to deal with a lot. From my parents belief that you can just deal with mental illness on your own to just having so many responsibilities, it can be so frustrating. As a student who has been homeschooled all her live (yes even before it was cool) I am responsible for motivating myself to do school work, which to be fair most everyone has to do that, but I can't use grades to motivate me because I'm not ever graded, so I'm so behind in school it's crazy! I'm a high school kid who only learned to read like a few years ago like how am I so stupid! Ugh. Anyway, besides failing school, I can't talk about my mental health openly (except here, which is awesome!) I only have one person I know who talks about mental health with me (except my parents like once a week after therapy sessions and only usually regarding scheduling another appointment. So I talk to the one friend, but even she can't talk openly about it because her parents also don't want to talk about it with her, so she can only talk about it when we're in private which.like never happens! Like really?! Ugh sorry.. Any way that's the two main thinga I want to vent on so yeah.
Thank you for staying and reading! If you want to comment I'd appreciate you, but also not commenting is fine too.
Thank you and take care all!
So you are now physically attending high school?
Why not reach out to the counselling services at school if you feel therapy is not enough?
You can also search for support group meetings in your area and here you can also use the one to one chat with listeners.
Wishing you well

Nope I'm still homeschooled and I'm not switching anytime soon cause I mean there is a pandemic or something, I don't know.....
I never said that I didn't think therapy was enough I just said I wanted to have support for my family as well. It can be hurtful to feel like your parents don't understand a sickness you have. I was also just venting about the stigma that goes with mental health, I mean like having to talk in private about something you would have like to talk about with everyone is hard.
And yes while I wait for my therapy sessions I love being here!

Hi Jacklynn! <3 You're right that even with countless blessings people may experience through various problems. And that's completely valid. Dealing with mental illness is difficult. Though I'm glad you have a therapist, and a good friend to express what's on your mind. I can imagine how still it would be difficult to cope with especially when you're in an environment where you can't openly talk about it like with your parents.
And being homeschooled can be a very different experience for every person. Though it doesn't mean you're stupid. You're just going on a different pace than others, and that's ok too. You're trying even with your facing so many difficulties. That counts for a lot! <3 You're still moving forward. :)
@RainyMemory97
Thanks for the encouragement, I completely get what you’re saying. Thanks especially for the encouragement about school work. You are right we all learn at are own pace.
And I do try ❤️
@Jacklynngirl656
You're welcome! ❤️ And I hope things get better for you soon.
Hey,
It sometimes gets weird (in the "kinda difficult" sense) acknowledging that you have mental health stuff you'd like to air, when it feels like you're lucky. Like a "I have things good, I shouldn't be feeling the way I am. I should be...I should be feeling better! :D Why can't I do that?" sensation.
I just wanted to just drop this text letting you know that your words are being read<3
[I haven't been home-schooled but I can imagine how it gets difficult motivating yourself to do things, in the absence of grading/external accountability. I don't think it's an easy job keeping yourself in the state of wanting to do school stuff. So, I have a bit of admiration for you having maintained that long enough to get to where you are.]
@loyalTree3713 *Just remembers I forgot to reply, sorry about that* I really appreciate all that you've said, and I especially appreciate you just taking the time to read my vent. Thank you so much 💜
@BeamsOfHope00
Haha, don't mention it! <3
*is awe-struck at the fact that you remembered this post*
