Finding Inner Compass: A Journey of Self-Discovery
The Inner Compass represents our core values and guiding principles. Understanding it is essential for making decisions that align with our true self.
🌟 Steps to Discover Your Inner Compass:
- Reflect on Core Values: What principles matter most to you? List them out.
- Identify Influential Experiences: Think about moments that shaped your beliefs.
- Visualize Your Future: What kind of life do you want to lead? Align your goals with your values.
💬 Engagement Question: What are some of your core values, and how do they guide your daily decisions?
P.S. If you still find it difficult to pinpoint your Inner Compass, think about a time when you felt mad or sad beyond your control. Reflect on the underlying reason—what boundary was crossed or what was compromised? That may reveal the values that guide you.

What are some of your core values, and how do they guide your daily decisions?
My greatest core value is "Treat others the way you want to be treated" and this guides all my actions on a daily basis. Every time I make a decision I think about how my actions would impact someone else. For example, if I'm at a restaurant and someone messes up my order, I think about how I would like my customer to react if I was the server. Personally, I would love if the customer was understanding and patient while I fix the error. Because of this, I would act with patience and understanding. Another example would be confronting a rude secretary at a clinic. When facing someone being rude to you, your initial reaction is usually some defensiveness and perhaps even some rudeness in return. By thinking about how would I be like in their position, perhaps I'm being rude because I've been having the worst week of my life and facing rude customers all day. Instead of being defensive, I respond with kindness as you never know what the other person is going through.Â
