BOOKCLUB: Open to All

User Profile: LessMusical
LessMusical Sunday

Hello everyone.

This is an attempt to open a book club sort of thing. It's gonna be super informal.

We can either pick a book and read ttogether. Or maybe we can just share about what book we are reading!

This is going to be open to everyone!

@Saly9italy

I will share with you excerpts from Steve Harvey's book ((Jump)) ⛷
Phrases that I liked and are inspiring, I would like them to reach your hearts and inspire you or motivate you to do something new ... I hope you like them

[[ When God created each one of us ... He gave each one of us a talent. God did not create a soul without giving the owner of this soul a talent, and I ask you to make sure that your absolute understanding of talent is that it is just being talented in drawing, running, jumping, singing ...Etc. It is more than that..
I had a friend who wouldn't hang out with us late at night, and my friends and I would say, "Man, come hang out with us," and he'd say, "no ..I have to get up early and mow Mrs. Johnson's lawn." We'd make fun of this guy for this lawn-mowing commitment, but now he has a $4 million landscaping company in Cleveland, and all he does is mow lawns, but he's talented at it.
The only way to fly high is to jump. You have to take this talent you have tucked away in your backpack, jump off the cliff, and then pull the safety rope. If you don't use this talent, you will live the life of a laborer.... ]]

I would love to read a book together and be able to discuss it. That sounds like a great idea to start here.

Thanks for including me @LessMusical! I'm really open to anything. Usually I would choose for myself horror or sci-fi or fantasy but I've read every genre of book and have found something I enjoyed each time.

Recently, I read this book during an involuntary hospital stay. It's not something I would normally pick for myself but was the only thing really available and I really really enjoyed it. There are two more books in the series that I plan to read.

I like this. I read historical books; non-fiction, so maybe that’s a bit boring to some, but I’ll join in. I’m currently reading a book about a man who traveled the entire Silk Road in the early 2000s.

Hi secondhandhippie! Welcome. Nice to meet you.

I also like non-fictions!

Your current pick sounds fascinating, please feel free to share stuff you learn from the book!

Let me recommend you a non fiction in case you like it, it's one I recommend to most people cause I think it has important messages. It's Amusing ourselves to death by Neil Postman. The author was a professor at NYU, he was the department head of Media ecology. He was one of the very few voices that discussed the problems with technology and how they end up changing our relationship with nature.

I absolutely adore the idea of a book club and always wanted to join one ✨❤️

currently I’m reading the dark forest by Cixin Liu as part of my sci-fiction reading of the month . I try to choose a theme for each month or season and to discover new themes as I go .

I have not heard of the artists. There's a movie with that name that I know about but not the book. Feel free to tell us more about that. Thanks!

I am currently reading a book series By Mark Tufo. It's his zombie fallout series. I'm on book 9 of I think 26. It's a long series but very fun and interesting.

@Badblaze5

Interesting. That is such a long book series. I never knew there are novels that run this long hehe.

Will have to check some of it out. The only zombie thing I've read is the walking dead comic series.

This series is would say is better than the walking dead. It would be like the walking dead, with a supernatural aspect added and a lot of sarcastic humor.
