Heart problems at almost 18?
I am kind of worried, I had to go to the cardiologist last week and now have a heart monitor for a month, i have had blackout spells since 4th grade, no one can figure out why or what it is, first it was ocular migraines, then it was neurological, now its heart related, theres no rhyme to reason, it can happen anywhere or anytime, if im sitting, standing, working out, sometimes i go months without one, sometimes i have at least one a day, i get dizzy anytime i so much as stand up from the toilet, i eat healthy, workout, drink 80+ oz of water a day, take vitamins, i just dont know what else i can do, and im frustrated cause my drs go months inbetween appointments, have made me go almost 2 months without my ADHD meds to which the cardiologist said there was no reason to, never got me in for the MRI they said they wanted
im just frustrated
@Sweetgirl07
Hello there~
We are so sorry to hear that you are going through what seems to be quite a challenging time. We can only imagine how difficult this must be for you and why you are feeling so frustrated.
I think it’s wonderful & very important that despite the challenges you’ve gone through, that you are continuing with your care. And following up with your healthcare providers…. It seems that you went through quite an extensive list there. And some of us can attest personally here that it can be so very frustrating to not know what is going on with or in our own bodies sometimes. While also having to wait things out to figure it all out.
We are glad to hear for you that you have followed up with a Cardiologist and wish you all the best in finding the answers that you hope to achieve. And even though you have to wear the monitor, at the end of the month (which by the way will certainly fly by quicker than you realize!), hopefully you will have more in depth answers & knowledge about what’s going on!
Thank you for sharing with us. It can certainly be traumatic to say the least when dealing with health concerns. As we know any impacts on any area of our wellbeing certainly can impact the other areas (physical, mental, & emotional) etc… it all goes hand-in-hand.
So again we wish you all the best in finding your answers. Please keep us updated & posted on how you are doing and how things are continuing to go for you! We are here to support you at Cups!
@PoliteOcean
Thank you, this genuinely made my day, I kinda want to cry now haha
Most people didn't believe me or said I was dramatic until my doctor said i needed to go to the cardiologist, and even still I have not recieved this much outright support, thank you everyone <3

Awww ❤️
You are very welcome! We are here for you! 🤗
Hi,
You're definitely going through a rough time. I can't imagine dealing with so much at once. I'm proud of you for still trying your best and receiving help. Health issues and the treatment around them can definitely feel frustrating. I can relate with you on this part. It can also lead to self-blaming and the confusion regarding them can be disheartening. I just want you to know that your efforts and your presence matter.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. 🤍
*Sending hugs* if ok 🌻
Hey!
As someone around your age who's also had to deal with the possibility of chronic health conditions, I can understand that what you're going through is super hard. I don't know if my personal issues are similar to yours at all, so I won't pretend to know what it feels like. Waiting for appointments can be really frustrating and time feels like it's literally crawling. I'm glad you're not ignoring your symptoms and seeking help, and also love that you're taking good care of yourself to whatever extent you can.
I don't know if people appreciate this enough, but finding the time to have a good diet, enough water intake, and proper exercise is amazing. I'm studying nutrition and I know that even if these small things in your lifestyle don't feel like they're doing much, they could be helping a lot to reduce your symptoms for all you know. Hopefully your doctors can help identify your triggers and help you manage/cure your condition. Stay strong, trust yourself, and talk it out with someone if you feel the need to!💚
Its valid to feel so frustrated, going throuh so much for so long and still not having any answers and them making you go thrugh more struggle tha you already are.
I don't know if you've been checked for POTS but you may ask about that, its something that affects an automatic function your body does with your blood and it can make you dizzy and pass out among other things.
@SmollOne
This is actually a good reply …as a Nurse myself, I’ve dealt with this in my patients.
@Sweetgirl07 I am really sorry to hear that. I hope the doctors can figure out the cause of your heart issue.
Have you looked at the side effects of the meds? It might be side effects of medications. I always make sure I read mine.
@Sweetgirl07 We are all here for you ❤️❤️
Thanks guys, its just really frustrating when everyone things im being dramatic or making it up, my parents, some of my doctors, i just feel miserable and nobody thinks im telling the truth
Hey, fellow heart issue girly here!! I’m so glad you’re advocating for yourself and taking charge of your health. As a nurse I would look into POTS. Keep up the healthy habits, you got this! Feel free to message me if you need anything <3
